This girl is obviously like those Nairaland misandrist who call themselves feminists. Instead of saying 'SOME MEN' she just said MEN...she is clearly showing her hate for men with this comment.

"They said a lot of things I've seen here from "educated men"."

LOL! Another senseless comment from the girl. Is it educated men that sell clothes at Yaba? SMH!

But those Yaba boys too dey tap current from girls sha. Something has to be done about it...not in this manner though.

Dumb.

She said men. Nothing us wrong with that.

They better take this campaign to the North, cus here in the south women are treated with utmost respect compare to North where they are only useful during 'other room' activities.

I disagree, the only people you will see touching women in the north are southerners, even northern Christians don't do that, As a woman you can go to the most crowded market & come back nobody go touch your body. And if some1 try am & you shout, the other guys around will beat the shyt out of him

Those Yaba market guys are notorious for physically harassing females under the guise of wooing customers. I have warned my wife to stop going there to buy anything.
Such a culture of disrespect for the sanctity of womanhood should be discouraged across board.
I'm sure this was how Indians started till rape cases are now almost uncontrollable

How can a group of women go and meet working people and start shouting don't touch us, that's an insult of the highest order, it's like telling the men they're rapist, women and the stupid things they do.
Shut up! A campaign like this stopped harassment in mile one market in PH many years ago befor social media.

If any trader touches a woman you get punished!

Go and ask your female relatives what they suffer. From grabbing their wrist to smacking their butts! These traders need to be cautioned.

Seriously, i feel bad when those Yaba guys harass girls all in the name of "come buy market, select your own"

I think the police should start arresting them...i heard these guys use charms to touch unsuspecting ladies.

You can't harass someone because you want them to buy your stuff, no be by force.

Ladies should start speaking up against this and watch security operatives swing into action...arrest a bunch of them and watch this nonesense stop.

Sent from my Infinix Toyota HiPhone S44 X, 12g Wireless, Tripple Sim, Limited Edition, Double Exhaust, Z Class (Gold Plated) fufu proof.

you will live long. iseeeeeee!!!!!

I am always scared to go to yaba market because of this attitude. you will be on your own and they will not only touch but grope you. talk to them to stop and you will be hurled with insults.

From the reply on this thread i can see that most of the "educated" men on this platform is just as entitled as those yaba traders... its not because they are illiterates, its because it is a norm that has been imbibed in our senseless patriarchy system.

You don't know how this ladies are harassed until you have been to a market and see the names they call these girls. if the table were turned. you go to a market and the traders are trying to touch your privates, abuse you if you do not buy with them and literally drag you between themselves to come buy with them.

Many ladies a traumatized and do not want to go to the market unless with an escort. guys we need to rethink this. its not even about feminism, its about respecting your personal space

Finally a mentally stable man shows up!!!
Ah!!!!!!

Those idiots on FP totally refused to address the matter. They look at everything from a gender angle and refuse to face facts

Don't judge these women if you have never been to Yaba market. Those traders will rape you in daylight if care is not taken.

The harassment is part reason I don't go to Yaba market after I left school. The worse is you perceive cigarettes, marijuana oozing from various corners.

The match was needed!

Of all the places to take your march to its yaba market not like most of.them are not aware of such things happening there , i wont be suprised if the march was taken there on purpose just so this could happen and use it to get sympathy/ attention from the media and populace

Don't forget Yaba is surrounded by 3 higher institutions or more. Students go there to buy their wears and food items.

If they don't put a stop to this it might turn to a menace, your sister or wife might be a victim.

i can relate with this. The first time i went to buy bras by myself, i was a jambite and still naive, i wanted okirika cos i was told they last longer than the newer china ones especially for busty ladies. i was still a teenager and had no idea how to buy the correct size. i went to the street behind OANDO in tejuosho where okirika things are sold.

i entered one stall and met one igbo guy and chose some. very nice ones, tried them and they weren't my size. The guy then brought out some and i wore them, noticed they fit better than the ones i chose. he then asked to see my bra so that i could ascertain the size, i opened my zip a little cos i didn't see anything wrong. (i come from a medical background and never had issues with male doctors examining me, i was expecting the same professionalism)

He then proceeded to touch them saying that he had to guage it. i didnt think anything was amiss until i saw his erection. The slap i gave him ehn. After i selected like 5, i told him i threw 2k at him and proceeded to tell him that if he doesn't accept it. i will raise an alarm.

I learnt lessons that day. No one needs to touch your boobs to know their size, and how to select my size of bra. I have never bought bras so cheap since then.

A lot of these yaba market traders are very lewd and sexually perverse people.

Single sense, you don't have.

So because someone did not cover herself and wrap herself like Christmas present , you have the right to touch her.

LMAO grin grin

You should have told us you are an animal without self control so that you will be locked in a cage.

Even if a lady is naked, you have no right to touch her.

They really should be locked in a cage.

Most Nigerian men are sexually uncultured beasts regardless of their occupation. You see them everywhere, even in white collar jobs. Yaba boys are just a subset of them - taking advantage of the disorganized nature of the market. To me, four issues needs to be addressed :

1. Clumsiness/Cluttered nature of the market. The overpopulation menace of Lagos obviously led to some markets being overcrowded. And when things are clumsy, no one can be thrown in the spotlight when they do something wrong. You can’t try such in a spacious market place. This is an issue for the Government

2. Leadership of the Market - Most of the market leaders are more concerned with collecting their dues and monetary entitlements from these traders. They care less how these traders go about their business. They don’t have any stipulated rules and regulations governing consumer protection. And when there is no law, there is no crime.

3. Late Night market - Most of these groping and harassment is more intense at night. It’s a no-brainer since night makes it easier for a wrong doer to stay anonymous. Hence if you add a clumsy market that has no laws with night trading, you get what these women are protesting against.

4. Insufficient security services/civil defense - Still baffles me why a market like that (and others like it too) that are flashpoints of crime do not have presence of security agencies that are both mobile and planted in specific locations. I guess Government cares less about a market that generates little for them in tax and other levy.

These are the issues these women should bring to the front burner. Going around trying to incite the ire of people you already know how uncivilized they are is counter productive.

Misplaced priority if you ask me. There are ways to engage illiterates, This is not one. We saw the other day when a group of traders in Abuja almost lynched Charlieboy. Educate the illiterate on the subject matter not protest.

Interesting how it is fashionable for women to call men all sorts despicable names in a way that sounds all-inclusive. Yet it is men that are women haters.

Some men have used terms far less offensive than what these ladies use on a daily basis, and they quickly incur the ire of the world, for refusing to join the bandwagon that continually try to demonize all men and paint all women innocent victims.

Curious to know how all these covert wars would turn out, in years to come.

if they dress like they are inside a club house... Then i see no qualms with anyone applying clubhouse rules to them.

go and ask if deeper life girls experience such at same market.

A very useless post coming from a senseless woman. I hope she's aware female traders also touch men who come to the market to buy stuff.

I wonder why she's ranting about it. If both men and women start shouting "don't touch us" shouldn't that be a clear case we're going mad?
