I just came across a thread which pointed out what happened to my Honda EOD customs paper which was later confirmed to must have been forged by the dealer.

Some of us know that most of these vehicles have no customs duty paid. What they attach to the sales is forged machined outside entries or recycled entries which is the process by which one document is used for numerous vehicles of the same make.

I'm a victim of the bolded on my 2005 Honda accord that was sold to me by Oloruntobi Motors Specialty Limited which is by the road side along Lagos/Abeokuta Express Way at Lagos State Low Cost Housing Estate Enterance gate. Meiran Ojokoro, Lagos.

They've still not resolved my ordeal let alone compensate me; you can save these their numbers to be sure you are not
buying any vehicle from them to avoid being proned to fraud. Their numbers are 09098064935(Mr James) who lives and also has car lot at Abule Egba in Lagos, 08023235192(Mr Jerry), 08028306710(Mr Fatai), 09095491881(their boy with nairaland username icedre that posted the vehicle on auto section https://www.nairaland.com/3022535/sold-sold-honda-accord-2005 ) and 08099916782(one old man). Their other number is 08126189059! !!

My car almost got seized outrightly by Nigeria customs after Ibadan on my way to Osogbo on October 12th 2018 or so but I thank God that I was able to scale through after over six(6) hours delay.

Please do check your customs paper critically because this kind of fraud won't be easily detected. Also share your experience if you've also been caught up in this mess; who knows who might end up reading this update let alone who will be saved from such fraud.

I will be attaching the customs paper that they gave to me when I was ignorant of the need and how to check customs papers, the one that I later printed from customs database and the original one that they forged (they mistakenly sent it to me when I pressurized them to give me the original copy of my document which they only photocopied and gave to me. It was the one that revealed and confirmed the atrocities that they did/performed).

I have stated it severally on these boards that lots of advertised vehicles have fake customs documents. I have been opposed severally by the fraudsters because to most of them I exposing secrets of their trade.
You are not the only one who has fallen victim of this fraudulent activity and you are very lucky that your vehicle was not confiscated because ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
My sincere advise to anyone buying a car on these boards is to first of all demand for the customs entry or SGD(single goods declaration) form.
This form is supposed to carry the details of a single good or a single vehicle or a single container but because of their fraudulent activity the clearing agents add additional items on the form to an extent an SGD entry may carry as many as four or five cars! (I will talk about that later).
Anyway the first step is once you see your SGD entry try and locate the C number. Each customs command such as Apapa,Tin can or Lilypond has its own area code. Like AP or TC followed by a number in figures and the date of the day the entry was registered in the customs data systems.
Beware that NO two SGD forms can have the same number and if the have the same number the alphabets representing the command can not be the same. However if the are two SGD forms with the same number,they can never have the same date .
Do your SGD entry will have a C number like this
TC/1 20 of 28/12/18.


What these numbers mean is that
TC/1---the name of the customs area in this case Tim Can Island Port.
20 represents the twentieth entry processed into the system on the day in question while 28/12/18 represents the date of processing.

So the C number on each SGD represents -1. The customs area command code.
2.The number of the SGD for the day in this case the 20th document treated on that day.
3. Finally the date the SGD was treated and processed into the customs data systems. The date in this case is 28/12/18.

So from this little explanation you can see that two SGD forms can NEVER have a similar number because the alphabets can not be the same. The number in sequence of the day may be similar but the date cannot be similar.
So when legalwealth posts the SGD given to him for his vehicle I will point out these details and go further with my explanations.

This is a fake documents issue similar to your case you may want to read up on it. A very long thread with a lot of posts hidden because the moderator of that year was in cahoots with the inspiredm guy,who was also a former moderator.

Best thing is to go to nearby customs office with the C-number, where it was cleared and the date it was processed.

Ask them to print it out for you if you can and compare every details will the one the car seller or dealer will give or has given to you.

Also make sure that full amount of the custom duty or reason amount is paid which you can ask for the assistance of any custom officer

to help you evaluate.

Those downloaded from customs database using the C-numbers on the document they gave of which one is invalid and the other valid are coming soon.

Looking at the papers presented by the OP this is a clear case of recycled SGD entries. This is the process whereby an SGD entry used years ago by an importer is obtained. The SGD is then photocopied severally till it becomes faint. The details of the vehicle (s) on the original documents are then replaced/substituted with the details of the new vehicle.
The implications of this is that whenever the C number of this document is checked in the customs data base it will show that the C number exists but the payment is not for your car. In fact hardened fraudsters have been known to substitute the C number of a container for a car or the c number of group importations from the airport for cars. So the onus is on the buyer to insist on visiting a customs command and obtaining a PRINT OUT of any SGD entry given to you in your own interest.

There is a Servicom section in all customs commands that are connected to the data base. Visit there to confirm your vehicle duty SGD C number. Preferably take time to do it yourself and obtain a PRINT OUT. A word is enough for a wise man.

That is exactly what I now do and I'm advising; you print it out and critically compare it with that which you are given.

You are very correct; I've once entered and been to that of customs command at Bodija in Ibadan.

Naxo one nairalander too sold me Lexus RX330 last August too.

I was not that bothered cos I was introduced to him by another nairalander whom I trust.

I asked him severally if the paper is genuine and he said yes, the other man too said I shouldn't worry he's his person.


In less than 24hours I bought the vehicle, custom also stopped me at same location along Ibadan-Osogbo after Ikire.


I alighted and formed jagaban being my first time cos I have never being stopped on my big daddy for many years.

They requested for my documents, I showed them, they said that it's fake, Jesu, I spoilt mouth, I vex.

I called the dealer he kept on saying it's genuine that they just want to obtain me. Naxo my own agidi too enter gear 5.

The officers said they won't talk to me unless the dealer confessed.

He was begging custom on phone but kept on telling me the paper is genuine.

The brilliant officer told me to put the phone on speaker and I heard the dealer clearly confessing that the documents ain't genune, he told him to confess again that the vehicle came in via land border and he did...my head got a strange sound...motto of 3 point milla..


The custom officer returned us on close to an your journey back to Ibadan, on our way to their office,


They stopped us opposite their office asking for 1m. I told the dealer I will abandon the vehicle and enter Lagos to get back my fund.. I heard lots of name for vehicles on this day

January- 100k

February - 200k


To cut the long story short, . The dealer paid the money and vehicle was released.



On getting to Lagos, the guy started running away from me, for three weeks, I couldn't see him, different excuses.


I carry Soldier go meet am but with tolotolo mind, I dey beg soldier say nah civil case, make them just warn am.


He collected Bill of lading and promised to fix the custom payment


I didn't see anything, he later called me that I am to pay some amounts from the payment which I declined...

I reported it at nearest station... The police were saying I should help him to pay 200k from the fee too... "after naira had exchanged hands"


They started turning against me, I told them the said paper is not possible since vehicle came via land border. Nobody was ready to listen.. I called my sister who is a chief superintendent of police. She called them and they started getting scared of me.


He later promised to get it fixed... after a month, he came up with another fake paper that is on custom system but not on manifest, I declined..


At the end of the day, after 4 months of cruising Lexus RX330, I got back my fund. I told him to go away with 200k though

Did he give you the money you paid for the vehicle back in full despite you have registered the said vehicle?

You shouldn't have given him the 200k for it is a sure thing that they will do another fake document.
