Hakimi has been one of the(if not the) best fullbacks in the Bundesliga this season, let's say it is recency bias. Besides Ndidi has been playing professional football for over 5 years I don't know why he was even nominated for that spot if I was him I wouldn't accept it and if I am to vote I wouldn't vote for him, Hakimi made his debut either this year or late last year for Madrid, fast forward 12 months later and he is a sure starter at Dortmund, I would vote for him myself.

I however agree with everything else you said. Not sure what Bailey is doing there but let us be honest apart from Ndidi(who was definitely nor better than that Ghanian boy that is keeping him out of that team) none of our players deserve to even be on the bench of that team
Th]s post reeks of sentiments.

Ndidi had a great 2018.

Hakim didnt except for current form.

How is that an upgrade? Does the rail link mean that passengers can be transported from one point of the airport to another? Upgrade? Are u kidding me? Have u been to the Abuja airport lately? Is that what you are celebrating?

forgiveness:

Then, remove the log in your eyes to see better because you are not seeing properly.

Does Cairo international airport have airport rail link? That is even an upgrade version of airpot mover people system. Maybe you don't know.

As we speak, Abuja has an airport rail link and it is currently in operation. Fact

The stadiums were renovated recently. EOD.

Ndidi had one of the best stats in Europe for his position last year, he should have made the African top 11.

Mahrez was squeezed into the list in an unnatural position.

Does one need great airports or a functional airport in good condition to host a mere AFCON?

Sometimes ehh, you wonder how Nigerians think.

Abuja airport is far better than all the airports in Sub Sahara Africa save for South African.

Which airport in Africa has train connected to the airport? Just two. Tambo international airport, South Africa and Casablanca international airport Morocco.

The almighty Egypt don't even have one.

Nigeria has 4 newly renovated and remodelled airports with newly built terminal.

How many does Egypt have?

I forgive for all you have written.

We can beat Egypt even if we play on top of a pyramid. In fact I here and now declare that Nigeria will win the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

Egypt hosting now puts them amongst the favorites.

What is the condition of the Teslim Balogun Stadium?

Oga u and I know that none of our stadiums are in perfect condition. No need for long talk.

At the moment Egypt would do a far better job hosting. We’ve been here before when we talked about airports etc. Anyone who tells me MMA2 is great is delusional or have not seen better airports. The Abuja airport is currently in construction, but I’m not expecting anything great.

Anyways we all have our different way of seeing things. What is perfect for you could be average at best for me.

Side note: I don't want to get involved in this argument but the Abuja airport is no longer under construction. It was recently opened to the public (2/3 days ago).
It's not the most beautiful but it looks alright. It's also functional which is what matters most I think. There's a video on FAAN's twitter page. You can draw your own conclusions.

I take side with you...
we can host these tourney and it won't be a disaster...
my only fear is corruption and mass looting on the part of political office holders...

you know how many billions were budgeted and used for stadium renovation prior the under 17 world cup we hosted...and the EFCC and ICPC raid afterwards

even back in the university...I remember my school UNIBEN hosted NUGA at a time...and afterwards there was ICPC raid of the school management...
3 Billion we had the management received for that tourney...but there was no trace to it proper usage...

recently I saw Covenant University football pitch.

bro that pitch is way better than many football stadia we currently have in Nigeria...and to know that the Management built it with just 500M naira speaks volume...
the stadia looks like one of the English stadia I see on TV...not a bad one @all.

but to build such or renovate same in Ben public sector.. will take billions and they won't be trace of good work done

So CAF did not consider the relevance of Players' international duty performances like the World Cup and 2019 AFCON Qualifiers? Then they should scrap CAF and let UEFA govern football in Africa since they only consider the Clubs they play in.

It looks alright yes. Parts of tnew construction was already completed weeks ago. It’s not like magic happened a few days ago. But like you said, it is alright and functional,is it better than the Cairo international airport? I don’t think so

We know Oyango is just there to represent the East and Southern African slot. Because Ahmad Ahmad's sole agenda is to make sure that Region is always represented in anything CAF organizes.

There is no way the games can be played at different times as each zone only has one stadium. This may give room for match fixing as the teams that will play the second game will have the undue advantage.

Exactly. This is the only problem I would have with it because most of these politicians will budget enough money to tear down the stadiums and start from the scratch but they will only use 10% of the budget on the stadiums and the rest straight to their pocket. The corruption involved and the looting are the only reasons why I wouldn't want it here

That was how WAFU even with them producing the VP (the then Ghana FA chairman) was there and they agreed to that cruel Zoning of U17 Qualifiers which later consumed Ghana. Ghanaian Fans are still placing a curse on their former FA Chairman.

When you say Abuja airport is far better than all airports in subsahran Africa I hope you are not including North Africa in your definition of sub Saharan Africa. But if you're a not then what's the point of the statement?

I was in Cairo in 2016. Getting from the airport to the Zamalek area is a long drive and there is no rail link. This is true.

To cut it all short, in terms of all infrastructure required to host a 24 team AFCON Egypt are in a much better position to make a success of it with 6 months planning than Naija.

Oga! See the dates on the articles. Abuja Stadium renovation started last month. Benin stadium will be completed this month. Delta Stadium is a new stadium. Aba was just renovated to world class. I have access to the stadium. Dikko stadium was upgraded at the tail end of last year. We all know Uyo stadium is always maintained by Julius Berger. Etceteta

Now, tell me, what kind of repairs do they need?
Oga forgiveness, you are one of the most patriotic Nigeria I've ever come across.

No Africa team made an appreciable impact at the world cup. I won't be fair to judge players because they played 3games in Russia. Even when those games were mediocre by all 5teams who represented Africa.
