Nah.Software Engineering and cyber security are no way closely related.Cyber security has to do mainly with securing anything that mainly has to do with Internet while software deals with using advanced softwares for doing stuffs like Robotics,API and data analysis. 2 Worlds apart
Oh ! ok. then.

The job prospect is the key. Graduate of medicine, pharmacy, nursing and radiography easily get jobs than engineers. That is the reality on ground in Nigeria

MR REALITY, I Think Obansanjo, Yar'adua, Goodluck, Buhari, Dangote, Otidela, odenuga etc Studied Those Courses U Mentioned ?
The bolded names are politicians and businessmen. They didn't secure employment easily. Until we have many firms in place, other disciplines wouldn't find it easy in securing jobs

i worked in a bank and a top audit firm. U must not be chartered to work as an accountant. Wen i got into kpmg i was not chartered
Kpmg still insist that their staffs enrol for ICAN. Many establishment wouldn't accept an accounting graduate without ICAN that is the reality on ground. Just a few firm does because many can't pay grounded accountant. By the way things are changing now as many chartered accountant are receiving less money. There is excess supply of chartered accountant or account executive in the market hence low demand for their services leading to less wage or salaries

The bolded is very true.

NUC & NBTE need to add some new courses into Nigerian higher institutions and only few private schools should be allowed to run them, courses like:

1.) Software engineering

2.) Cyber security

3.) Biomedical engineering

4.) Robotics

5.) Welding & Fabrication Engineering

6.) Digital Marketing

7.) CNC lathe operation & manufacturing technology

8.) Computer Programming & Coding

9.) STEM engineering

These courses urgently needs to be added to Nigerian school curriculum as they will help boost Nigeria's economy.
Cyber Security Science is an undergraduate course in FUTMinna and so is Biomedical Engineering in Futo.
I think the rest are all available for postgraduate studies under their various fields

I recently came across a thread which was about the courses you won't advise anyone to study. I saw people listing so many damn courses. The question now is, what are those good courses that one can stil study in Nigeria that are lucrative? I think that no matter how bad the economy seems to be, it won't be possible that all the courses are useless.

And dentistry
Less than 100 students graduate from the course throughout Nigeria in a year
And there are states with 1 or no dentist
Their pay is equal to an MBBS graduate pay

Trust me this course below are very good:
Medicine and surgery although its flooded
Pharmacy
Medical radiography:people do not know the relevance of this course, I can say that it is very lucrative due to low number of students being admitted into the department in various institutions compared to other courses like medlab, medicine and nursing

Physiotherapy
All engineering courses

You are talking about 1 in a million case bros, forget anything, medicine, nursing, radiography are sure courses in Nigeria oh.

They seem to be the only courses with no unemployed graduate in Nigeria, let's say the truth.

Not that they earn millions but they get job at worst faster than others.

So don't use your brother's one in a million case to generalize, no be only teaching, na cheating undecided

You dey mind the guy
Like its everyone that will get a UK masters
My cousin who did with his engineering degree from futo still came back and ended up in civil service.

Teaching/Education. I got my sibling to do BSc/BEd Chemistry. He moaned to death. On graduating with a solid 2.1, I got him over to the UK to study for a 1 Year MSc, whilst doing this, we got his certificates accredited, he secured a teaching job in a UK private secondary school that secured him work permit. The rest, as they say, is history. He’s doing extremely well. If you see the world as your oyster, even nursing would land you good money in developed economies. Did I mention medical students were mocking my sibling when he was doing his education undergraduate degree and his girlfriend who was a nursing student (now working as a nurse in London)? Those medical students are now hapless doctors in dilapidated Nigerian hospitals. grin grin grin

The same hapless entry level doctors will goto the UK and earn more than 3x your sibling who has a masters

What I am trying to say in essence is that some courses are outdated already and studying them will only put you among the unemployable graduate. quote author=Viergeachar post=75705054]

Nonsense post!
