umotong is a center forward dragging shirt with oparanozie and uchenna kanu is she not playing college football? which professional league is she playing?

Anam imo and Uchendu are not even sure of their WC spot. For now , I think we have Oshoala , Ordega, Dike ,and Umotong coupled with the facts that Uchenna KANU may be called up and Ihezuo is not doing bad.

Asisat Oshoala signs for Barcelona! As in the real Barca of Messi. Good news. Barca play UEFA champions league steady and were in quarter final stage last 2 seasons.
She's probably on loan till June ending this year. Good for our world cup preparations.

Asisat changing clubs like shirt

Asisat was not used today as Barca won 3-1. I really hope she can grab a starting place. The worst is for her to be benched so much...It may have negative impacts, especially on her confidence. Early days still

Nigeria will benefit a lot from this. I'm not sure the European teams will like to lose the advantages they get and are so used to.

This is a welcome development for the African women football. Now the AAG will be more competitive. All those teams that participated at AWCON will give a good account of themselves. No disbandment, just rectification of little mistakes and we will have about 8 teams giving us a first class performance during the AAG competition.

Why Evelyn Nwabuoku Can not Be Invited To Super Falcons – Investigations 18/02/2019, by Niyi Busari.

More facts emerged at the weekend on why former national Women team captain Evelyn Nwabuoku may not be invited to the camp by team Head Coach Thomas Dennerby.

www.bsnsports.com.ng investigation reveals that Thomas Dennerby had told the midfielder the reason why he cannot extend an invitation to her for now.

A national team coach revealed to www.bsnsports.com.ng reasons Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby cannot extend an invitation to Evelyn Nwabuoku to the Super Falcons as the senior national team prepares for the FIFA Women World Cup in France.

The source believes that Nwabuoku who was the captain of the team is a good player but her style of play may not suit the coach pattern and formation.

According to the national team coach who preferred his name not mentioned said, Evelyn knew why she was dropped from the national team in Lagos before they left for Abidjan ahead of the African Women Nations Cup in Ghana, adding that she is not the type of player(s) Dennerby needs ahead of the world cup in France. He admitted that the Super Falcons need players to improve the performance of the Nigeria women national team.

He stated unequivocally that Nwabuoku is 33 years and going by what the whole world witnessed at the 2018 African Women Nations Cup in Ghana, it was obvious that the Super Falcons need young, fast and talented players to beef up the squad and not a 33-year-old player. Super Falcons in the semi-final and final against Cameroon and South Africa respectively, were seen for the first time having least ball possession and were lucky to win on both occasions through penalty shoot-out

This, according to him, is not unconnected to the ‘aging’ players who need to be replaced by younger footballers.

Aside from the fact that age is not on her side, he continued, Dennerby was quoted to have told her before she was dropped from Falcons’ camp in Lagos that she is ‘old’, slow and hardly creates a scoring opportunity for attackers.

“Every coach Thomas Dennerby inclusive has their pattern of play and the type of players they invite to camp. Her style of play may not suit the coach pattern. This was why he told her reason for excluding her name from the squad for the African Women Nations Cup in Ghana and she knew why she will not be invited.

“Falcons need young, fast players as they prepare for the world cup. A midfielder who through her skills creates scoring opportunities for the attackers.” The source said.

Though, he admitted that she is a good player but coaches have a different pattern of play which determines the kind of players they need in a team.

Evelyn Nwabuoku, 33, is a Nigeria footballer who plays as a midfielder for Rivers Angels and have also played for En Avant de Guingamp in the French First Division1 Feminine and Nigeria women national team.

Nwabuoku played previously for BIIK Kazygurt in Kazakhstani women’s football championship and both Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels in the Nigeria Women Premier League.

Evelyn Nwabouku eyes Falcons recall ahead Women’s World Cup

February 18, 2019 9:40 am
Former Super Falcons Captain Evelyn Nwabuoku says she wasn’t happy for being left out of the team that won Nigeria’s 8th AWCON in Ghana and believes she deserved a recall into the team base her current form as one of the best playmakers in the Nigerian women football league.
Nwabouku was overlooked by Coach Thomas Dennerby as Rita Chikwelu and Onome Ebi led the Falcons to victory in Ghana to book a place in the Women’s World Cup scheduled for France, she also missed the Cameroon edition back in 2016.
Nwabuoku proved to be back in full fitness as she became the engine room of Rivers United last season and was later voted the best midfielder in female football in Nigeria.
“I think I deserve a recall to the Super Falcons to give the team a boost. I have missed back to back women AFCON due to injury in 2016 in Cameroon and last year in Ghana. I just want to reunite with my teammates in Super Falcons
“Missing out of the AFCON in Ghana was very painful considering the amount of efforts I put in to be part of Super Falcons team that won the cup. I have put that behind and I just want to rejoin the team and play my part in the growth of the team ahead of the world cup in France bill for June this year.”
A serious battle with an injury led Nwabuoku to return to the country two years ago from France, she played a prominent role in Rivers Angels winning the Nigerian regular league last season.

The treatment this woman is recieving is totally unfair. She deserves more respect than she is getting, i strongly believe that she is good enough to be on this team. We are very thin in the midfield and she will bring calmness.

The worst player I have ever watched in Falcon's uniform. This lady was regrettable during the World Cup tournament in USA.
