There is no doubt there is mass exodus of doctors from Nigeria but that figure is not possible for Plab 1 exam in Nigeria.Remember, plab 1 is not like plab 2 that you write on different dates.Plab 1 is done once and there is no venue that will accommodate more than 6k people.

Let's agree that a mass exodus is presently happening, throughout our health sector.........

Even at under 700, that is still mass migration from an important sector in the economy.....

How many hospitals can 700 doctors be actively employed at?.....

Do you calculations and understand the damage............

i started from one natwest and initially only spend like 100 or 2oo, but paid by direct debit. Eventually, moved to 3 cards and 12,000k credit limit.... except when furnishing my house and more recently supplementing buying a car and i didn't want to touch mortgage savings. Eventually this paid off, got my mortgage, they also looked at my contract phone and electoral roll registration to assess credit rating.

Today, Now 14,000k, but owing about 5k. Out of which 3,3k is interest free till December . after 2yrs, my credit profile increased to 900+ on experian. i never used upto 25% credit limit before now

People always say credit card improves your credit score but is it really true in Uk?.... America yes but don't know if its applicable in uk and i tell you why

I got a credit card maybe 10 years ago. Just one. I never used it one day and manage my life around my debit card meaning i am as good as not having a credit card... i went to check my credit score online and nothing came up .

I got a mortage easily .... all that was checked was earnings .. This made me think if you had a bad credit history yet it affects but if you have no history it probably makes no difference

Elders in the house, thanks for always putting your girl through in this UK, it's not easy for JJC like us
I bank with Barclays and was offered a credit card with 29.9% APR. I had applied for one with 19.9% APR which was declined but they offered me this one instead. Is it a good bargain or I should continue in my search for a card with lesser APR?
Also, I would really appreciate if someone can tell me more about credit cards, no matter how much I read, all cards are the same to me except their different APR
I only need the card for building my credit score, please enlighten me
Thanks
The rates improve. Recently, i have been offered a 0% interest balance transfer and 0% interest cash transfer. This has come in handy as i foolishly bought a new car and didn't have money to pay for it. At least, the credit card will not accumulate too much interest before i pay it off.Credit cards can be a useful tool to track how you save monthly and come in handy for purchases, if you don't have friends to borrow you, or not to embarrass yourself borrowing

I would personally advice you to stay off this debt card for now, till you fully understand financial/debt management in the UK.............

Take a credit card. and if you are afraid of it, start from £5/ month and pay off direct debit. Until you have a big liver to do 1000, but not on unnecessary expenses.

Me take a credit card ? You want me to send Ekiti thunder to take you down ?......

I would never take or accept a credit card ............... Debts card are a menace to the sane world ......... Why would i allow a bank use me to feed large ?...?

I don't spend what i do not have ........ If i need money, i would apply for a very very low interest loan or simply remortgage ..........

Problem with bank loans is that they reduce your net income

How ? Because of the chunk payment ?

But it's still a much better route to finance ............

What about remortgaging ?...

You simply allow for the payments + locum shifts are plentiful to overpay ......... Hence reducing your financial strain and increasing your credit score ............

It's must be calculated .......

I would rather take a £10K loan and pay back £11,500, than a £10k debt card and eventually end up paying back £100,000........

You get my drift ?......

I get your point but what if you just spend like a small portion of it and ALWAYS pay back in full every month, there is no interest rate right?

If any balance is left, it attracts interest. And if you always payback without the bank receiving interest....... You are not the type of customer they are looking for, your card would eventually be withdrawn......................

My people let's discuss, when buying a car on finance which is better between HP and PCP. Don't think we have ever talked in details about this.

I have read so many things online and inclined to go for PCP because of the advantages of changing cars easily, and attached perks like free servicing and MOT and all with the ability to just give it back at the end of the "renting" period. However, I am wary of that subject to terms and conditions of fair wear and tear.

So anyone with experience of both should pls share.

Paying back every month, also means you are using your card like a debit card, and not a debt card ........... It really palys no part in credit building ..........

A report placed on your file and other lenders might not like your financial habit/decision .................

I presently owe a lot now...my bad! what i missed was that my 10k bank loan removes 320 from my net free allowance after bills and mortgage for the next 3yrs. Although this is the best way to pay the debt. However 5k credit card, i will pay up ASAP,probably 1k monthly, unlike a minus 300 for 36months. Too early for me to remortgage, just got on the housing ladder. We'll just manage for the next 6 months

Funnily if you use more than 50% of your limit as well it drops credit rating, because it shows too much reliance on credit.

Both methods of financing a vehicle are individualistic based .........

If you employer offers PCP plans, your payments would be deducted before tax........... Or you route payment as a business expense and write off against tax........

If you apply for PCP on an individual basis, you might end up paying 400 pcm for 3 years...... What happens if job circumstances changes ?

HP - You pay more for the vehicle over 3/4 years, but the car is eventually yours.............

PCP --- All you really have to buy is petrol ....... All maintenance, insurance, MOT not required, etc etc is on the PCP provider....... Except you have a knife put in your tyre, and that is your responsibility, not forgetting limited mileage ..............

Loads more to talk about...... But son needs to be on the field for his mandatory football practice ................
