It will take sometime for the dusk to settle on CHAMS. There are some entity dumping massively despite the result.
It mightbe uninformed investors who have been caged for long time, and have been on their stockbroker neck to sell when ever there is an opportunity to bail out, who will later regret when they find out. And by now they have not heard of their wonderful performance, but as long as this their result stand, with 8 kobo EPs and 3 kobo dividend, they are the best so far.
For instance.
1. Zenith at #22 with dividend of #2.50, and 100 unit of Chams at 20 kobo = #20 naira, 3 kobo dividend x 1000 = #3
2. Zenith EPs of #6.15, while Chams 8 kobo x 100 = #8

For me as caverton bus is filled up, Chams bus suppose to be the next available bus.

It is not so difficult to see that FCMB did better than Fidelity in 2018 but people benchmarking FCMB against Fidelity probably because they share close spot on the exchange.

FCMB time will come if they continue to perform.

Good points no doubt, but a member here drew attention to their negative Retained Earnings which is about N1.9b. Could it be the likely reason why investors are cautious?

If it has to do with that the regulatory commission will not approved their 3 kobo dividend. The company has bounce back to profit, for them to record high percentage of earning in their q3, and final against the previous years, it means that they back to business now than before.
Anyway, time will tell.

Be careful with CHAMS. ...so u don't get trapped 'in the closet'
He just might have a similar price behaviour like that of JAPAUL.

Just an advise. ...NOT a recommendation.

Japaul was with forward looking statement, anticipating of money injection with no action and no dividend payment, but Chams came with high surprise and action (3 kobo dividend) time will tell.

All banks in Nigeria have released their result except First Bank. It is difficult to have faith in First Bank.

People seen not yet understand that Chams PLC result seems to be the best result so far, stock of 20 kobo with 8 kobo EPS and 3 kobo dividend, for now based on their price, they have better result than Zenith and Caverton, or is there anything am not understanding in their result?

You left out the Other Comprehensive Income of N571m to give a Total Comprehensive Income of N951m.

My problem though is that the profits due to one off items that might not repeat itself in future namely

1)The write back of excess VAT paid in previous years N560m (page 34 of the financials)
2) The revaluation of intanglible Asset N571m which was responsible for the Other Comprehensive Earning

Chams still has a negative retained earnings of N1.9bn so I wonder how they were able to declare 3k dividend for the year.

The company has been in the woods for a couple of years and their latest results does not convince me that they are out of the woods yet

Anyone who pays a cursory and in-depth attention to detail would see that their 2018 financial print leaves much to be desired.
I have since given my verdict on the coy.

This is definitely your first time of buying chams.
Those that have been trapped in the company (charms)for more than 10 years will not be impressed or excited.
Nothing bad in living in a dream land.

Some time people have difference view, I remember the days of Dangote flour, when they returned back to business, exactly what is happening now happened then, people pointed out many points against them moving forward, Dangoteflour still move foreword until last year final which they drop back , I remember many later jump into Dangote flour stock, also when Jberger returned back to profit, the same.

From look of things, Chams has returned back to profit making, and will likely maintain it for some time. All companies strategy is how to improve and move forward and Chams has started.
Time will tell
