Feels good to be back on this forum all thanks to GOT.

And I see the rules changed, spoilers and comments on the new episode even when it's not evening yet, the idea was to wait on people like us who can't do vigils like some of y'all. C'mon guys, can we leave this thread the way it used to be? Makes it more fun and interesting when you have more people posting their opinions rather than a few.

Thank you for this.
Have mentioned this before about how this thread was like last season when there was no discussion till evening. It was MATURELY adhered to.
I wish we could go back to the old ways.

..... Some of you posting about toxic feminism and what's not. To me, it's pointless at least in this particular story. Most of these so called powerful women who have somehow crippled men because of the inability of fellow men to act will all die starting from the next episode. It's for this reason I am not pissed about the silly agenda as it won't lead to anywhere.

....The reason I watch the show is to see if Jon will be so weak to let his mandate get stolen away from him in the name of anything ( love, or whatever) should he live after the great battle. Should this happen ( God forbid) then I don't see the point of the series in the first place and will be quite disappointed considering the journey the so called prince of the dawn has gone through in order for him to sit on the throne and govern with wisdom.

I see why it's easy to hate this episode & label it a total bore, but - to me - this is one of the best episodes. It's so subtle yet powerful. Maybe because it deeply appeals to my melancholic side.

No need to rush. I love the gradual transitioning. No need to rush. Is it not blood you want? Don't worry, it is coming. Blood will so spill you'll be forced to use rolls of tissue in wiping off splashes that flew from your favorites & landed on your screen protectors. No worry.

These are characters we've been with for years( I prefer to use "almost all our lives" , it sounds more dramatic grin). Bretheren, these are characters we've been with for almost all our lives. They are our brothers, our sisters. They're now a part of us whether we choose to admit it or not. Some, or all of them, will die. And we'll miss them.

So why should we rush? Don't we want to be with them for one more, last final time? This episode is beautiful & powerful because most times we see the war, the bravery, the bloodshed, the victory, but most times we don't see the personal, emotional and philosophical battles they struggle with in the final moments leading to the war itself.

They are so many enriching, powerful scenes in this episode - one of them being the chamber gathering between Tyrion & Jamie, then joined by Brienne, Podrick, ser Devos & Tormund aka.. Giants bane...lol

But I'll talk about two.

One -my personal favorite actually - when Ser Devos was serving supper and this man, after collecting his share, tells ser Devos that he's not a warrior, panic visible in his eyes. Then this little girl comes up, collects her food and tells Ser Devos she wants to fight. So tiny in contrast to the previous man, yet no fear in those little eyes. Powerful stuff!

I was pissed at the man. Like how could this little child be willing to fight & die, but you want to cower & tow a coward's path. You no get shame? But then again, we all are victors or victims of our circumstances. The little girl said her two brothers were soldiers & she wants to fight too. But the man? Maybe he was an average
trader before, a care-giver nursing the elderly perhaps, a banker, or just an average Nigerian like you & me far faaar less braver & perhaps much more likely a coward than an eight-year old Afghan whom has tasted War. Like I said, we all are victor or victims of our circumstances.

You know, it's so easy to assume that since a war is coming, everybody will automatically be pumped-up, gingered, motivated, prepared & ready to die. Sadly, some will never be ready to die. Even in their death. That's life.

These are some of the philosophical psychological battles of war - and many more - people fight in the final moments even before the main war begins. And it's important to show it.

Second one is the post-sex scene between Gendrya.

Here, Arya is seen staring far far into the neverlands - a place only she can see- while that beautiful poetic rendition by Podrick plays in the background. Here, her eyes look wide open but she looks lost. She was there but wasn't there. This scene is so powerful that the look on her face could be interpreted for one-thousand different meanings and all would be correct.

Did Gendry dickmatize her? and she's here thinking, wow!! So na wetin I dey miss be this?. Is the War even worth it? Maybe we could find somewhere cozy below the crptys and I'll hide on this D1ck till the war is over. A girl has no shame..

Maybe here, Arya knows she'll die, and for the first time, death no longer has many faces and she's starting at death..... in the face...

Maybe for all the bravery, For all the "A girl has no face" shenanigans, For all the training, For all her cold-heartedness, deep down somewhere she's just like everyone. A normal human being like you and I afraid to die, wishing that this fffucked up world could be a slightly less horrific & a better place.

The only part I felt was a bit rushed at first was how Arya transitioned from pinning a triplet of dragon glass to a wood in quick successions to make Gendry facilitate the construction of her secret special weapon, to her pinning the same Gendry to bed few seconds later.

I felt it was too fast. I felt they needed a tad bit more bonding and... gasps.... fans who still saw Arya as that semi-innocent dedicated virgin girl were not ready to see her in this new light. But like I said earlier, what makes this whole episode very powerful is that it deals with the philosophical psychological battles people fight even before the main war begins.

Before you get disappointed or angry, I want you to understand that both in witchcraft & christianity, and science even, Time is a very important constraint. Time & Space is to the Universe and Mordern science/physics what Native chalk & schnapp is to Amadioha.

The concept of Time changes everything. When you know you have a certain amount of time to live, it changes your perspective about every fffuking thing. Everything!

Now it doesn't matter if you're made of steel like Arya or copper like Tormund , but suddenly, nothing else matters but everything matters. The little things like having the walls of your v@gin@ greased by this guy you kind of like. Coming from a long- ass frightening journey that almost featured your flesh on the Night's King's Archimedes sprial and the first thing you ask is "If The big woman is still around" grin .

This episode was beautiful, philosophical & very necessary. So many subtle but deep elements. Is it how Grey worm for all his muteness & devoutness to Dany's cause knows deep down that even if they win the war, he & Missandei won't fit in the picture?

My highlight of this episode is how it subtly reinforces "The concept of Time" as the most powerful force in the universe. And it's true!!!

There was a girl. Our chemistry was out of this world, maybe supernatural sef. We bonded so well, but didn't get to the stage where Arya & Gendry currently are before we later had issues.

We don't talk anymore. I don't even know if we are ever going to see again, talk again, or hear each other's voice again till we both die. But something tells me if somehow somehow the world is to be ending in the next 5mins and death is coming for us all, our tongues will be far deep in each other's throats & we'll be ffucking each-other in 3...2.. 1.

I'll title this beautiful Episode - "The Concept of Time: the battle before the War"..

Can't believe I read all these? How many hours did it take you to type these? 4 hours? grin

well it was kinda something worth noticing the way Sansa was staring at Theon. The look had a deep meaning to it, I mean, they both survive severe physical, mental, emotional and psychological molestation from Ramsey Bolton.

I'm starting to believe Theon may not have returned to Winterfell for Daenerys, but for Sansa...

Podrick song lyrics.

High in the halls of the kings who are gone
Jenny would dance with her ghosts.
The ones she had lost and the ones she had found
And the ones who had loved her the most.

The ones who’d been gone for so very long
She couldn’t remember their names
They spun her around on the damp cold stone
Spun away all her sorrow and pain

And she never wanted to leave
Never wanted to leave.
Never wanted to leave.
Never wanted to leave.
Never wanted to leave.
Never wanted to leave.

Ta-da!

Apparently not! And Sansa has been expectant, more like both feelings have been there for a long time and they had to just play them out.

Not something am interested in tho.

Of course it's for Sansa. Everyone should know that. He came to fight for Winterfell.
I think the real turning point for him was when Jon told him he was both a Greyjoy and a Stark. He didn't have to choose. That settled a lot of conflicts that was brewing in his mind.

That song did certain things to me. Like you tightly said, the was the best non fight episode from game of thrones.
It had everything: topnotch dialogue, anger, hate, forgiveness, love, shared moments, stories, vindication and they topped it with that song.

That song has been playing in my head all morning.

So here is another thought... That that wasn't Arya in the sex scene.

The camera angle when she stripped, and the way it didn't show her face till she got on him, makes me think they superimposed her head on a double's.

Same way they did for Cersei's walk of shame.

Dear antispam bot, pls let me be.. Banned me five times within an hour.. wtf!!! Who else is experiencing this?

Anyways I absolutely loved that Jenny song rendition by Podrick. Had to download it on YouTube. It was beautiful.... and blended perfectly with the mood. The partial darkness in the chamber, the luminance of burning flames scattered across the room, the sudden dead silence, the melancholy on thier faces, the brief moment of self-reflection as his voice echoed in the background. Perfecto!!!

As beautiful as the song was, it made something turn inside of my stomach. Bad feeling. Very bad one.

It's a song on one hand but the moment you close your ears and start to listen from the soul it begins to sound like a prophecy. That song is beautiful & eerie at the same time. A radioactive mixture of light & darkness. The type that can make your grandmother appear from nowhere like booooom!!!

Who is Jenny? Is Jenny a pseudonym?

As if the lyrics wasn't deep enough, the camera kept panning to different characters as the song progressed. Each line describing the moment on screen - including this one - "Took away her sorrows & pain" as they showed a half-naked Arya - a reference to how Gendry's D1ck has taken away her sorrows and pain.

Then this last line , "She never wanted to leave" , coincided just as Danyerys appeared on screen and started walking to Jon.

Well well well...

Maybe there's nothing to the song though & I just need to tone down on the weed like some of you have advised.

Hahaha, this Sam and Edd conversation from the book is very funny. the show would have been more fun if they added more of Edd with original conversations from the book.

“Never knew Bannen could smell so good.” Edd’s tone was as morose as ever. “I had half a mind to carve a slice off him. If we had some applesauce, I might have done it. Pork’s always best with applesauce, I find.” Edd undid his laces and pulled out his cock. “You best not die, Sam, or I fear I might succumb. There’s bound to be more crackling on you than Bannen ever had, and I never could resist a bit of crackling.” He sighed as his piss arced out, yellow and steaming. “We ride at first light, did you hear? Sun or snow, the Old Bear tells me.”
Sun or snow. Sam glanced up anxiously at the sky. “Snow?” he squeaked. “We … ride? All of us?”
“Well, no, some will need to walk.” He shook himself. “Dywen now, he says we need to learn to ride dead horses, like the Others do. He claims it would save on feed. How much could a dead horse eat?” Edd laced himself back up. “Can’t say I fancy the notion. Once they figure a way to work a dead horse, we’ll be next. Likely I’ll be the first too. ‘Edd,’ they’ll say, ‘dying’s no excuse for lying down no more, so get on up and take this spear, you’ve got the watch tonight.’ Well, I shouldn’t be so gloomy. Might be I’ll die before they work it out.”

Don't know if I have the complete set
I have books 1-5 in pdf

You do.
But there are also the novellas;
*Tales of Dunk and Egg ( The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, The Mystery Knight; these I recommend, as interesting as the main series itself and very short; it is hinted that Dunk might be Brienne of Tarth's ancestor, and Egg is Maester Aemon's brother )
*The Princess and the Queen(Tells much about the Targaryens and Dragonlore)
*The Rogue Prince
*The Sons of the Dragon(GrrM really loves his Targs)
*Fire and Blood (This one came out last year)
They still occur in the same world but in the past.
*The history book; A World of Ice and Fire. This one is a book written by a maester at the time of Robert's Reign.

I heard one of these might be the plot of a GoT spinoff.
