Hmmm,
Well Jesus is just one person whose thoughts, words and actions should be studied with thorough meditation in order to identify those following his footstep today!
If you feel you can be in agreement with Jesus but can't find a visible group of like minded people having the same mindset, then you're just following the false Jesus who leads people into lawlessness or iniquity!
Lawlessness connotes doing things the way each person feels without laws guarding or ruling over a group of persons or community!
Jesus is a King, he is invisible but his subjects are VISIBLE. They are known today as Jehovah's Witnesses so if you're not with them, Jesus will count you out of his OBEDIENT and LAWFUL subjects! Matthew 7:21-23
I am blessed, Maximus69, with numerous close relatives whom I visibly fellowship with constantly. A whole town even, interior Yorubaland, Muslims, pagans, Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, JWs, etc, in my immediate families and the town as a whole whom I constantly worship with. Lots of friends too, and I can assure you that the fact that they worship the Lord God and He alone is grace. One never knows if through ones worship those who don't say, "buda, who is your God, let us worship with you". Besides, they are my neighbours, family, friends, co-workers even, whom, despite their gods, I must love as much as I love myself.

The "lawlessness or iniquity" burn in hell. Those with Christ dwell in the Tabernacle of the Lord.

EXACTLY Ma, but the only mistake in your writeup is including 'JWs' because if you're not a JW,JWs won't worship with you ooooo!
So your God is not the same as ours, the time is running out, we don't waste time chating when you're not ready to join the family.

@budaatum.
Atheists are also worshipers of that false Jesus who will accept you as long as each person develop his/her own mindset. So instead of agreeing on principles they'll preder arguing for the fun of it.
Take note of human governments, they can argue for months over issues like same sex marriage but there is no regard for God's word on the issue! undecided
That is how Satan wants people to view Jesus as well,so they'll claim born again but different opinion on serious and sensitive issues!
So real Jesus is not like that, he said whatever his followers bind or loosen on earth will be granted just like that in heaven. Don't think each person will start binding independently on his/her own in Jesus name!
This means they must be united in thoughts before they can do such in the name of their King Jesus!
The Holy Spirit takes different forms in different people. We cannot all have the same thoughts unless we have been brainwashed or refuse to use our God given minds. Read me have this out with Tatime where he dented my atheism and gave me his mind, or what of it was worth receiving.

I've met the type. A Guyana woman was being buried in our Church and her JW friends insisted they were going to stand outside. I asked them if they would allow the devil to stop them saying goodbye to their friend and quite a few of them decided not. When they came out at the end some of them came to thank me. They fellowshipped with others in honour of their friend and were touched and I am certain they would never forget the experience.

Have done so, to which I demand for the meaning of the Greek word rendered grant or granted .

Is that hard ?
I think we need to be in the same page on what we are talking about. We are talking about the new covenant, not just any covenant. The covenant you referred to is one which Jesus made with his loyal disciples for being loyal to him. He promised them the same kingdom his father promised he. He promised they will sit on 12 thrones and judge the 12 tribes of Israel. (Interestingly, you hardly mention the 12 thrones or 12 tribes of Israel)

I am talking of a new covenant. Emphasis is on the word new covenant.

The word covenant will always have the same Greek rendering. It will still be the same word and the same Greek rendering. So, that's not the bone of contention.

I am referring you to the "new covenant." The expression new covenant occurs 4 times in the latest version of New World Translation.
In Jer 31:31, Lu 22:20, 1co 11:24, 2co 3:6, Heb 8:8,13; 9:15;12:24. All the above listed scriptures refers to the same covenant that leads to forgiveness of sins.

Similarly, In New Living Translation, the expression occurs in the following verses.

Jeremiah 31:31 "The day will come," says the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.

Jeremiah 31:33 "But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day," says the Lord. "I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

1 Corinthians 11:25 In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, " This cup is the new covenant between God and you, sealed by the shedding of my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it. "

2 Corinthians 3:6 He is the one who has enabled us to represent his new covenant. This is a covenant, not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death; in the new way, the Holy Spirit gives life.

2 Corinthians 3:9 If the old covenant, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new covenant, which makes us right with God!

2 Corinthians 3:10 In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new covenant.

2 Corinthians 3:11 So if the old covenant, which has been set aside, was full of glory, then the new covenant, which remains forever, has far greater glory.

2 Corinthians 3:12 Since this new covenant gives us such confidence, we can be very bold.

Hebrews 8:8 But God himself found fault with the old one when he said: "The day will come, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.

Hebrews 8:10 But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds so they will understand them, and I will write them on their hearts so they will obey them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Hebrews 8:13 When God speaks of a new covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and ready to be put aside.

Hebrews 9:15 That is why he is the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, so that all who are invited can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.

Hebrews 10:16 "This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts so they will understand them, and I will write them on their minds so they will obey them."

Hebrews 12:24 You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which graciously forgives instead of crying out for vengeance as the blood of Abel did.
The point I am making is! There is a new covenant, which is for sins to be forgiven and which includes all who takes up the offer to exercise faith in Jesus. It's this new covenant that I keep mentioning that it is for purpose if forgiveness of sins. Without it, no such forgiveness is possible and without the forgiveness, we cannot be made right with God.

In the Lu 22 :28-30 account, Jesus is dealing with something very different. The promised he made them or the covenant he made with them is because their loyalty. So, he promised them sits in thrones. 12 sits and to judge the 12 tribes of Israel. Also, probably you have not noticed that in the parallel account in Mt, the promise of the kingdom is in Mt 19:28, whereas the new covenant is in Mt 26:28. While the Luke account tends to mix things up in the same chapter. Mt follows a better order and arrangement. However, the two events are unrelated.

Jesus 12 apostles will be included in the new covenant, because their sins are also forgiven. But it's not just 12 people that their sins are to be forgiven, the whole world, who takes advantage of the ransom sacrifice and faith in Jesus Christ.

Now, if you examine the Greek scriptures, there are many occurrences of the word covenant and its gonna have the same Greek work for it. I hope we are clarify.

This comment is extremely true, because I recall an incident in 1999 at the departure lounge of one of these European city airport. I usually back in the day then, carry my miniature red sleeve jacket KJV bible on me when travelling and definitely was reading it on this particular day, whilst waiting to be called to start boarding the flight, because this young lady, when I got up and was about walking past where she sat to go the toilet or maybe get something like a drink or snack, got my intention and started asking, apparently because of earlier spotting me with the miniature red sleeve jacket KJV bible, if I am JW, surprisingly when I didnt say, Yes, but I said No and that I am a believer, I noticed the mood changed quickly to disinterest and a brick wall suddenly shot up. I inwardly SMH for her whilst walking along. I'll never forget that incident, it reminds me of the story in heaven, when Angel Gabriel was asked who were the lot at the other end of heaven, and his response was they are JWs, but dont tell them who you are, as they think they are the only ones present in heaven

They only think that way because their religious leaders tells them so. The day they are told opposite, they will also think opposite

You hear him well at Luke 22:28-30 , didn't you ? Those who will rule with him. Does that not remove those whom they will rule over ? Or your Lord lied ?

1John 2:2 not just for us ( in the new covenant ) which John is part of, but the whole world. Jesus died for the whole world.

But the covenant to rule as Kings is for a " Little flock " Luke 12:32 .

Non members of the new covenant do not partake of the bread and wine.
Jozzy4: You hear him well at Luke 22:28-30, didn't you?

Achorladey: I got the message first time and clear. Still coming back to the scripture anyway. That aside for now.

Jozzy4: Those who will rule with him.

Achorladey: Yes

Jozzy4: Does that not remove those whom they will rule over?

Achorladey: Now here is an ISSUE, simply because they are not to RULE with CHRIST does that equates to not BEING PART of the ONLY ONE NEW COVENANT?

Jozzy4: Or your Lord lied?

Achorladey: I haven't said so in the course of the DISCUSSION you are trying to FORCE it into it though.

Jozzy4: 1John 2:2 not just for us ( in the new covenant ) which John is part of, but the whole world. Jesus died for the whole world.

Achorladey: This is YOU Jozzy4 referring to the the blood and body of JESUS CHRIST which is used in ESTABLISHING the ONLY ONE NEW COVENANT which you agree is MEANT for the whole world. I duly agree as well and this is the cited scripture below.....

This is 1 John 2:2 And he is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours only but also for the whole world’s.

But here another problem for you to sort in this part of your post.......

Jozzy4: 1 John 2:2 NOT JUST FOR US ( IN THE NEW COVENANT)

Achorladey: Didn't I make a case for the ONLY ONE NEW COVENANT? But here you are as it seems there is another COVENANT different from the one Jesus used his FLESH and BLOOD to ESTABLISH.

What you cited 1 John 2:2 for (relating to flesh and blood) from your position you AGREE is not meant ONLY for the those who will RULE WITH JESUS CHRIST but the for the whole world while from what I could get from YOUR EXPLANATION there is another CONVENANT for those that will RULE with CHRIST.

Jozzy4: But the covenant to rule as Kings is for a " Little flock " Luke 12:32.

Achorladey: Now you INDEED show that we are not TALKING ABOUT the ONLY ONE NEW CONVENANT.

Are you still in SUPPORT of the ONLY ONE NEW CONVENANT in Luke 22:19,20 and Luke 22: 29-30 or you are introducing another COVENANT?

Jozzy4: Non members of the new covenant do not partake of the bread and wine.

Achorladey: I thought as much that this COVENANT of a thing is not ONE and ONLY NEW COVENANT.

What is the ESSENCE of quoting or citing 1 John 2:2..... 1 John 2:2 And HE is a PROPITIATORY SACRIFICE for our SINS, yet not for OURS only but ALSO for the WHOLE WORLD’S.

What made it a PROPITIATORY SACRIFICE is it not the FLESH and BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST. What was used to ESTABLISH the ONLY ONE NEW COVENANT? Is it not the same FLESH and BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST.

Jesus is not dealing with something different in Luke 22:28-30. Its the PROMISE associated with the new covenant .

If its something different, why Did Peter told members of the new covenant ' You are a Royal priesthood ' ? 1Pet 2:9

grin Seriously am laughing at you guys

@your red post, hey its not just forgiveness of sins , it Include becoming king and priest

Revelation 1:5,6

from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a KINGdom and priests to serve his God and Father "

" and I make a covenant with you , just as my Father has made a covenant with me, for a kingdom , that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom AND SIT ON THRONES to judge the twelve tribes of isreal "

The covenant he made with them involved Ruling as Kings . are those whom they will rule over not automatically excluded ? That's her question

To which you say " No" , so your Lord lied that the New Covenant is to sit on throne ?

So don't try bringing irrelevant stuff. 1John 2:2 I'd clear enough, not just for his disciples the whole world even those who died in the past . so don't tell me Jesus dying for someone makes them a part of the new covenant.

On new covenant, answers these
1. Why does Mt account not include it in the same chapter?

2. Is forgiveness of sins included and the very basis for it? If it is included, is your own sins included? If it is included, are not part of it?

3. Going by Revelation 1:5,6, quoted by you.

from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a KINGdom and priests to serve his God and Father "

It's true they've got eyes but they're not seeing and they've got ears but they're not hearing!
Perhaps it's my experience with the military intelligence that is helping me.
Because i don't understand why it is hard for a Nigerian who knew that at the mention of 'Abuja' you're talking of the seat of power, those seated there were chosen from every part of Nigeria to go and represent their people. Yet such a person finds it hard to grasp that the heavenly Jerusalem simply means the seat of power that will rule the whole earth where representatives from different part of the earth are chosen to rule with Christ! undecided
The ONLY difference between this two setting is RULERSHIP and LEADERSHIP.
¤While the world power [America] is declaring democracy for LEADERSHIP : the government of the people[whether they're reasonable or stupid] by the same [reasonable or stupid people] for the same [reasonable or stupid people]. Meaning it is the level of your intellect as a people that will determine those governing you! If your government is cruel it simply means the larger percentage is CRUEL! So a single person no matter his good intentions can't make any POSITIVE change because he was chosen to LEAD cruel people in their cruel intentions and motives!
¤God's own government is RULERSHIP : You don't have a say, you must bow to HIS divine decision. Matthew 26:39
Partakers in the government are NOT elected by the [reasonable or stupid] people but CHOSEN by God. So even those Chosen follow divine arrangement. Revelations 14:1
Partakers can ONLY know their Emperor[President] but the PERSON given orders to the Emperor remains ANONYMOUS! 1Corinthians 2:16
All the subjects must bow to whatever the Emperor says without hesitation, NO questioning! Philippians 2:9-11
So people prefer Leadership when they will always have a say even if their idea is stupid so far the person in the front was ELECTED by them!
But God prefer Rulership by IRON hand! Revelations 2:27

What I simply said is, we are not discussing born again for now. When we do, you will see why you cannot enter God's kingdom without it. For now, let's focus on one.

I asked earlier, are you in the new covenant? You didn't respond.

I will ask you again, if you were in the first century, would you be in the new covenant?

The new covenant began with the 12 Apostles as 11 of them were included in the anointing by God's holy spirit, because Jesus INSTITUTED it with them!
Take note that Judas Iscariot was exempted during that initiation! Luke 22:3,4,19
Their number began diminishing as the figure 144,000 is almost reaching it's completion. Even in the first century, not all the Christians were part of that new covenant. That's why many who presumed they were part of it fell sick and some DIED due to MISCONCEPTION! 1Corinthians 11:27-30 compared to Matthew 22:1-14
Today the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses are members of the other sheep. John 10:16
Just a few are the remaining ones of partakers of the new covenant!
Before anyone can get the sense of the new covenant you must first understand how the old covenant was applied. The Passover was between Jehovah and the nation of Israel with Moses as the mediator!
Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant and it was between God and the 144,000 anointed Christians. Others will benefit from this new covenant if ONLY they 'grab the skirt if those Jews'[144,000] and stick with them wherever they go,whatever they ask them to do, because they've heard that Jehovah is with them! Zechariah 8:23
That is why NONE of those who failed to recognise these spiritual Jews can get into their Kingdom, Jesus mediated between God and ONLY them, so whoever wish to be taken into their kingdom MUST first of all acknowledge them! Matthew 25:31-46
So don't think you can evade the PROTOCOL. If you don't know and work with the REAL partakers of the new covenant, Jesus have NO business with you! embarassed

Jessicha:
Jesus died for the whole world , he became the second Adam , see even non Christians he died for them, even Muslims he died for them ... That doesn't make any of them part of the new covenant but yet their Adamic sins are forgiven .

So don't try bringing irrelevant stuff. 1John 2:2 I'd clear enough, not just for his disciples the whole world even those who died in the past . so don't tell me Jesus dying for someone makes them a part of the new covenant.

Your friend confess John 3:8 is about the new covenant, so God choose who becomes a memeber.

Now let this sink in your mind, once a person is member of the new covenant, they are a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD . u can try argue it, okay 1 Pet 2:9, Luke 22:28-30
You said Jesus died for all, Christians, Muslims, pagans etc and because of that, they Adamic sins are forgiven.

I agree to those.

Now, let's go back and answer the question the question with that add of the scriptures. The question is

On what basis is their sins forgiven? What was the promised God made for the nation of Israel based in the prophecy of Jeremiah?

The Bible answers it here.

Jeremiah 31:31 - 34
"The day will come," says the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant, though I loved them as a husband loves his wife," says the Lord. "But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day," says the Lord. "I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their family, saying, 'You should know the Lord.' For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will already know me," says the Lord. "And I will forgive their wickedness and will never again remember their sins."

Forgiveness of sins, God's law written in the heart, etc are all part of this new covenant. This was God promise and his prophecies.

Interesting (and I know why!) throughout your discussion of this new covenant, you are carefully avoided all the scriptures that directly mention it.

The fulfillment of the new covenant prophecy was when Jesus shared the loaf and wine. He specifically said concerning it in Mt 26:27,28.

St. Matthew 26:27, 28.
And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, " Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which seals the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out to forgive the sins of many.

Interestingly, you have refused to discuss any of the above. I know why. Don't worry, someday, it will come back to you.

Recycling your already trashed post again . pls Jesus died for the whole world , either Christian or not . so forgiveness of sins doesn't make a person a part of the new covenant.

God choose who becomes a member ( John 3: cool

My point is , once a person is chosen as a member of New Covenant . he is a Royal Priesthood - 1Pet 2:9

Who did Peter address as " YOU are royal Priesthood ? Those in the new covenant !!!

Who did Jesus told " I convenant with you a kingdom " ? Those in the new Covenant !

Rev 1:5,6 drives it home, Not only their sins were forgiven, They are made to be Kings and priests.

If they re kings , that automatically exclude those over whom they rule. Sense

On new covenant, answers these
1. Why does Mt account not include it in the same chapter?
Luke did , and 1 Pet 2:9 proved it beyond doubt that when Jesus made that promise , its a promise associated with the covenant.

And it happens the same day Jesus made the ate the Lord evening meal . see throw away all this hullabobo and reason with fact.

2. Is forgiveness of sins included and the very basis for it? If it is included, is your own sins included? If it is included, are not part of it?
.1John 2;2 , sins of the world not members of the new covenant alone.... Enough.

Are you saying that you are not freed from your sins because you are not kings?
Hope u read that 1John 2:2 , Jesus died for all .. .

The new covenant is a different thing, and its members are a royal Priesthood. To think am speaking with someone who claimed to have been a Bible student baffles me . no wonder

Yes. They will also sit on 12 thrones and judge the 12 tribes of Israel.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a kingdom of priests, God's holy nation, his very own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:10 [b]"Once you were not a people; [/b]now you are the people of God. Once you received none of God's mercy; now you have received his mercy."

Questions.
1. Who where not once a people and have become a people? Jews or Gentiles?
