A Nigerian soldier has revealed his heartbreak after a lady whom he has been dating for five years turned down his marriage proposal.

According to the soldier, his lady's loving attitude towards him changed after he joined the army and was posted to Maiduguri in Borno state as she said she won't be able to marry him because she doesn't know when he will die.

Read below what he shared with Military Life;

"I met this girl for over five years now and we have been dating,she made me to believe that she loves me so much, that she can't do without me. I showed all the love as much as I can provided her with everything. Two Years after meeting her,i joined the army and I was posted to Maiduguri and I have been there making plans on how to get married to this lady not knowing that she has her own plans.

Since I joined the military, her attitude changed a little bit though I can't figure out what's actually the problem.not until I came back to propose to girlfriend with my heart full of joy hoping to get a positive answer, all of a sudden this lady looked into my eyes and said she can't marry me, we can date but she won't be able to marry me because she don't know when i will die.

Since then I have been in thinking mood because I can't believe what I heard from the lady I love so much.

That is a very stupid excuse. I won't be surprise if this soldier outlive her!
This life that is full of unknowns, 'ordinary' malaria kills people and one will start wondering if it's not the same populae malaria almost everyone has.

Blame her I won't.

She has had a very deep thought. After marriage, she gives birth to 1,2,3 kids all in Borno state, praying everyday that her husband and the father of her kids will come home alive. Imagine the pressure, fear, misery.

Considering the rate at which soldiers have been sacrificed all in the name of the huge scam called Boko Haram that some people have been using to milk the nation dry, that itself is enough to make the lady give herself brain. Even after the death of those gallant soldiers, their relatives and wives are always put through much frustrations to collect their husband's allowances.

Seriously, however, I think the woman already have a better choice. That is just a lame excuse to dumb him after all the spending on her. Sharp girl. That is 9ja woman for you.

Since our young soldiers have become too cowardly and too liverless to organize a coup and remove all these useless, failed corrupt old men in power who loot billions meant for them and send them to go and be killed by ordinary untrained ragtag boko haram, let them face the consequences then

How old was Buhari, Muritala Mohammed, Danjuma, IBB, etc when they organized a coup

A week after the wedding ceremony, her hope will be dashed.
I will never allow my daughter to marry soldier because their wives never enjoy their marriage.
