Bros why not go and see a reputable lawyer, like a SAN . To be the best of my knowledge power of attorney means the person you are empowering that person to negotiate for you on behalf of the family. Don't be surprised that does disturbing you will secretly put their names as lifetime beneficiaries of any largees coming from the company.

Go get a reputable lawyer ASAP and he will guide you properly and protect you from these evil people. They are evil because they know what you and your mum don't know, so they want to exploit you. They may even discourage you from getting a lawyer because he will surely tackle them headlong. The lawyer may demand a fee, but its worth it cos a lawyer of high repute has a name to protect. Please I beg again go connect with a high calibre lawyer now...

Opition B is for him to walk up to a reputasble lawyer like Femi Falana that has a name and seek professional legal counsel. Whatever options he presents, he follows through with it, a high calibre lawyer alone can help cause the name would provide protection,security which he needs at this point.

thanks, so much... The little information I gathered said the oil company won't pay much for now , but that we(i and my family) will enjoy it for a life once production start..
Benefits from them include
1.the will have to be paying my family yearly,
2.i will have slot any time the need to employ people.. I will have my own quota of employees to bring
3.i will have the right to sign or register for any contractor or individual company that wants to seek work there

No information gathered said the having of settling neighbourhood.. I gain 70% why the get 30%..
When I asked why, I was told the activities will affect the entire neighbourhood, sometimes oil spillage might occur ..so the need to be settled against future emergency so the won't feel bad..
I have been seeking advices deeply from different angles..
I'm doing my best.. Although is getting heavy and pressure is much. ..

Dem no go pay pass 2 to 2.5 billion on an oil well. Because its risky the oil may be much or little and only a thorough geological survey after they've acquired the land will reveal it. So it's a gamble too for them which is why they want him to sign so it will be commission based. If the oil in the land is little and he collects outright payment him no go short na dem go short. If the oil is much, and they settle for commission, e no go pure. Its a gamble he can choose to gamble or choose not to and not settle for commission but sell outrightly. For now all survey and tests on the land should be stopped if I was him so if in the case of little oil they don't get disappointed and walk away, he's left back with an empty land and sad tales. So you see why we are both on the side of outright sales...


He doesn't share in any risks if he cuts his gains short, collects his rabba and move on. Omo if them test and the oil no plenty, they will walk away. Not all lands with oil has the oil in commercially viable quantities. You get me? There's need to avoid risks and gambles. Or become a high risk taker staking all. To try to get what? Lol.

Invest 1 Billion in an offshore hedge fund management company and collect 1% yearly for life. While the rest is used for industries etc.

Actually here is not the right place for this but because I needed more attention and advice I have to post it here.
Sorry the post might be long but I need help..
Am from the eastern part of Nigeria, IMO state to be precise, currently an oil well head was discovered in my place and it happened that the pipe has to passed through our land, that's were my "late " father build our new home before his dimisal . We have been informed to be at alert as the "shell oil company " are coming any moment to value the properties there and pay us.
The problem is that, ever since that incident, many young men has been coming to our house claiming the are "PROPERTY VALUER " and the will help us to avoid cheating from "shell company ".some are even promising to give us money. Then I asked what I will do for them,
The said the only need me to sign POWER OF ATTORNEY for them as my PROPERTY VALUER.
One even promised to visit me in school and see me of which when I asked what actually his interest was, he told me he needs the job and I will have to give him 10% only of whatever be the pay of the properties(both land, house, economic tress)AND Also PROMISED TO PAY ME ANY AMOUNT I WANT SO LONG I WILL SIGN THE POWER OF ATTORNEY FOR HIM .
My father when alive do tell me something special is in that land where is building but sometimes I don't understand him.
Now am confused, some people are saying I should get a property valuer why some said there service is not needed.
Who else had experience this,,
