Kericoo: It's not expensive to those who know the value of what they're getting. My one-on-one mentorship is a direct tax on my time. Not to talk of passing on my knowledge...which i've spent a considerable sum to acquire. Show me any other legitimate guru out there with a PROVEN income of over N30+ million in 2 years selling their time for 1-20k? There's a reason my mentorship is valued at N100,000 while the ebook version is valued at N20,000. Those who can afford my services get to see a lot of me - They get my time and my knowledge.. while those who can't afford it (yet) get free access to my knowledge but not my time (using the ebook). What's your favourite part of publishing? Publishing can be hard work at times but there are also times when you feel on top of the world. Personally, my fav part of this publishing business is during month end when Amazon make monthly payments and I realise my net-worth has just increased by a couple of thousand dollars/Million naira. It makes all the hard work worth it. If I can do it so can you. We both have 1 head, 2 hands and 2 legs. The only difference is the skills we've acquired that allow us to do what we do. Although I write a few of the books myself, I outsource the majority of the books especially those I'm not 100% knowledgable about...saves me time and helps me ensure the quality of the book remains very high. Self Publishing Misconceptions One of the misconceptions people have with self-publishing is they think they have to print physical copies of their books and sell themselves. Amazon self-publishing is a print-on-demand business model which means that you do not have to print physical copies of your book and hope to God they all sell so you can recover your investment (and hopefully profit). Instead, Amazon takes care of all that for you. When a customer orders a copy of your book from the Amazon website, Amazon prints a copy and ships to them. One of the mistakes I see beginners make is relying too much on one book. I made the same mistake when I started, I remember publishing a book that made me more than $2000 in its first month. I started having dreams of making hundreds of thousands of dollars with this book - if only life was like that The book later settled down to making $200-$500 per month and my overall earnings TANKED. It was scary stuff Back then I was a bit naive and I wasn't well diversified (had about 8 books under my belt) and others weren't doing that great (they were very very average books). I learned a hard lesson then...I had a shift in mindset. I started treating this as a serious business instead of a side hubby. I thought about companies like apple, samsung etc. Do they rely on one product for their continued performance? no. Infact, each year, they keep coming up with new upgrades in order to keep growing their market share and sustain their revenue growth. I made a decision to start producing books EVERY MONTH....as opposed to when I felt like it. Since I now had a book that made $1000+ per month, I knew I was onto something. All I had to do was replicate what works and keep the momentum going. That's when my publishing income skyrocketed.
