When you say “work on the application entirely “ do you mean like make my proof of funds better and than paying the fees ?
Order for gcms note and know what exactly is the vo concern. It’s better than guessing you know but I can tell you are not ready to wait for a month for the note so try to list the documents you submitted for the application including your proposed course, your qualification and discipline so that gurus can advice.

Hi guys,

Good morning.

Please I have a couple of questions.

I am currently living in Canada as a PR and I intend to apply for a post graduate program for my brother. He graduated with Second Class, Lower Division (CGPA of 2.8 ) from Mechanical Engineering, but his last 2 years CGPA was 3.6 (I heard it matters).

1. Please guys I intend to apply for MEng or Graduate certificate program for him. Which one is he likely to be accepted in considering his CGPA.

2. Also, all things being equal, do people going for graduate certificate program usually get visa approval?

3. Please if you could also give me suggestions on schools that are less competitive, that he will likely be accepted into without too much hassle, I would be overjoyed.

I am glad to answer any question in regards to Express Entry.

Thank you so very much.

Good morning Sally, it's been updated to medical passed. Pls how long did it take from medical passed to passport request. I am sorry for the disturbance, it's just that my time-line is unbelievable
sillysassysally:
Medical Request – May 6th (I was surprised when I got this medical request because I did upfront medicals, so I was wondering why they were still telling me to do medicals). I sent a web form with my e-medical slip attached and I also sent emails to Lagos, London, and Kenya. On May 7th (the day after receiving medical request), I went to the hospital to see the doctor who attended to me and doctor told me that he sent IRCC a message to link my upfront medical ID to my medical request ID.
Medicals passed – May 8th

To answer your questions:
1- what scale for CGPA(i am guessing 3.6/5.0).
For Admission it actually depends on the School and Course. Some Schools accept 70% into a masters program for last two sessions of Bsc(that would be 3.5/5.0.....but some require higher line 80% or 85%)...
So browsing the Schools requirements is key.
If it doesn't look good then he should take the Graduate Certificate path.

2- Yes they do get Visa Approvals

3- You might wanna look into Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) and Humber College...

Kindly look out for the Gurus input on these.
Cheers!

This means the VO is not convinced you are going there to study. You might have to prove that using career progression in your SOP, or some other method.

I need to be adviced. I am indeed very new here. What are my chances? I intend submitting a paper application on May 28th.
I am a lecturer with a federal university;
I am married with a daughter, but intend going alone;
I gained a funded PhD program in McGill;
have a support document from Quebec (CAQ);
going for upfront medicals May 27th; and
my account balance is N1.5M.

Please respond with accounts or documents I need to add...

Sorry about this, order your gcms note. I believe your refusal reason won't be that hard to tackle, since it's only one refusal ground

So sorry for your refusal, you need to share your profile. What program are you going for? and what was your previous program? Any study gap? And the rest. Just relax, take your time and repackage your app.
More importantly, when reapplying don’t just focus on addressing only purpose of visit, try to still cover all angle. Some people on this forum have been refused on one or two refusal grounds, and when they reapplied tackling the stated reason(s), CIC gave them three or four extra refusal grounds.. though that’s not your portion.
it’s a pity once more..

Is the course you are going for in progression with your previous academic qualification or career? VO will need to see the correlation between them.
Which course did you got accepted for?
What is your previous academic qualification?
What is your career line?

welcome
First, get a pen and book for jotting
then go to www.cic.gc.ca navigate to study
there you will see links to all schools in Canada and make your choice after which you apply to the school.
also there you would find other information regarding how to apply for visa etc.

Also, go through this thread from PT 14
when you have done that come back to ask questions on things you are not clear about.

Thanks for your response. What’s the difference between community colleges and uni and any recommendations on the one I can apply? Thanks
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Stonecoldsteve: 8:44am On May 17, 2019
Please get a co sponsor. Increase the 1.5m to about 3-5m. Write a letter of explanation for your funding arrangements. Please do not apply until you have fixed this.

Why are you in a rush to pay school fees tho, even the school is not ready to accept school fees until August, so why the rush? In case you dont know, paying of school fees does not guarantee you Study visa, as we all know, many applicants here didn't pay shishi and they got their visas and are now in Canada.. So dont be deceived, paying of school fees doesnt mean u will get ur Visa.. Also, I will advise you know the refund policy of the school, so u wont come back here lamenting that the school doesnt want to give u back ur money. So even if u wanna pay school fees, please study their refund policies to prevent Stories that touch later..
To the second question, Yes u can upload documents(necessary documents) after the submission of your application, but I will advise you wait for the embassy to request for the documents they need from you.. So please paying of school fees does not mean you will get the study permit Visa, but if you still insist on paying ur school fees, please u can go ahead.. Peace

Thanks bro,

I think you stand a good chance. You will need a well written Statement of Purpose tying everything together and don't forget to get a study leave approval from your University.

I believe there are numbers of people that the high commission need to grant study permit to every month, when the qualify numbers are completed/meant at the time of VO checking your documents, every little mistake in ur application is straight refusal. Pray like you have never prayed before.

So what is the next course of action. Do you intend reapplying? You should order GCMS note to atleast give you an idea of how their mind works while they were working on tour file. In my opinion, I don't think you should give up. Though $150 is not small money.

yes oh

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Stonecoldsteve: 9:18am On May 17, 2019
That was why I said get a co-sponsor. All they have to do is transfer the money to your account and state in their letter of sponsorship that it's a commitment to your flight itinerary and settling expenses. If you refuse to do this you will likely get a refusal. Be guided

Purpose of visit; csn be down to a few factors like;
1. You applied for a program that doesn't show progression with your work experience and previous degree.

2. Poor and Vague study plan

3. The cost of your studies doesn't warrant the cost to the vo.....etc

I believe you are close to an approval. Order your gcms note and tackle it with a strong loe.
