PAYING THE CORRECT PRICE FOR A STOCK- TODAY'S EXAMPLE UBA

It seems some people have idea of what will likely happen in the next 2/3 months time, while others just look at what is happening now.

Our forecast has given indication on what some equities will do in quarter 2 of this year. Sometimes before, we have seen what is happening in the Flour Milling, Pharmaceutical industry and Breweries sector they are experiencing some specific sector related issues.

Forecast of 2nd quarter results for some companies will likely be negative, except magic happens we need to avoid putting our money in such equities. No wonder UBA and FBNH said they will try to improve on their result immediately the 2018 year end results were released, nobody tell them the result was bad!!!, did you?. If you are not a very rich person or just a casual investor why will you not wait this this improvement is seen. Have you not lost enough money in the past? If I have seen a services that will not make me to be sitting on the 30 or 40% losses I am sitting on now, I would have been better off. angry lipsrsealed undecided

PETERiCHY:

We are talking of CAPITAL FLIGHT.

MTN GROUP is the biggest brand in Africa and FOREIGN INVESTORS are ready to stalk BILLION of DOLLARS in it than any shit in NSE.

By the time 50% of fund in NSE start chasing MTNN you will see that most viable COYS in NSE will revaluate their dividend yield while the moribund one will pack up.

Just like the scenario of NITEL before the advert of GSM.

As things stands now MTNN is now the new KING of the JUNGLE watchout for REPRICING of coys that has been cooking their books from time immemorial.

*ThE OcToPuS*

I agree with you on the capital flight conspiracy.

Where I don't agree with you is that even if stock falls, whether companies will revaluate their Dividend yields. Fall in the stock market has no effect on the top and bottom lines of companies.

BTW, why STANBİC was not part of the participating banks in the N200b loan? grin

Oga Peterrichy, the prices of stocks on the NSE has no bearing on the figures pushed out by the Coys. Wetin concern Dangote Cement and Zenith Bank with NSE

Most top shots are selling their blue-chip stocks at great loss just to have a bite of MTNN.and most of those funds ain't coming back.

Things will NEVER remain the SAME.

My cash is already burning on the NSE. MTN is not going anywhere, they are here to stay. Etisalat never got to make the type of returns MTN RSA is making. Oyebode is no longer the Chairman of Access Bank. If you see MTNN buy later, please buy it, Sir.

If Tritri see MTNN cross deal at N200 he will gladly accept with both hands.

Eyes go open after MTN starts to reverse.

Seems people are betting that people will continue to chase it forever. They can't chase for long before equilibrium sets in.

So newbies should not be fooled by the MTN hype.

UBA PAT

Q1 2019 = N28b+
Q1 2018 = N23b+

H1 2018= N43b+

Are you saying that in second quarter 2019, UBA can't make N15b to be equal to half year 2018 of N43b+?

Barring unforeseen circumstances, UBA can easily make N15b in 3 months as PAT.

So stop spreading misinformation just because you want people to subscribe for your lecture for a cash token.

Most people here know the average PAT banks generate as a minimum. So one can easily extrapolate and get what half year and 9M and possibly full year will be.

What an analysis !!
U should get a presidential handshake for this one. wink cheesy grin

My dear, any Jack should know that UBA's Q1 2019 financial, which saw both a YoY and QoQ growth over its previous yr figures, shows that the bank is very much in line to not only equal those figures, but add an appreciable premium to it !!
By extrapolation, growth and earnings trajactory for 2019 is already at a near 22%(0.22x) pace ahead that of 2018 !!
...with the probability of exceeding that pace solidly tilted on the side of 1 than zero, when u consider that the bank delivered great margins accross all key drivable revenue and earnings line... on the back of a better than expected return accross their African foot print/channels.

Unless Unity bank was actually what u intended to post about, I'll suggest u go and study UBA's Q1 financials again.

Cheers.

To those selling off their healthy coys out of FEAR(over nothing), just know that u shall come for them with so much GREED in no time.
Worry not about those selling. Focus on those buying, and look out for why u should join them'.
This is NOT the time to SELL... this is the time to ACCUMULATE !! But remember to do a proper 'health check' to ascertain the 'why' before buying.

Remember:
"When the herds are 'running in or out of a place' within the market, watching ur back to COMPREHEND the reason for the run is twice as important as 'running with them', and just as important as sticking to a workable Investing STRATEGY.
...unless of course the target company was 'in the forefront of that run'."
~Sinclair

"In the stock market, SUCCESS is 1% what u have and 99% what u are.
...It's the product of what happens when u can continuously apply INSIGHT with running the race to EXCEL without let down."
~Sinclair

The time of reckoning shall commence and 'run at the pace of a cheetah' when U LEAST EXPECT IT !!
If I were u, I would be sleeping in the farm(NSE), planting all that needs to be planted NOW !!
But then again, I understand that advice when most needed is least headed.
...so maybe it's best to keep following ur instinct. After all, the Stock market needs a mixture of those who act in time, those who act on time, those who fail to act, those who didn't see the need to act and indeed those who know not why they ought to act... TO CONTINUE TO EXIST.
...for that's how the process of wealth transfer takes place.
But u do have a choice to choose what category to fall in.
A word they say is enough for the ... !!

It is well !!

The 43,792 was for 2nd Qtr 2018, only 3 months. You need to go and get the figures for 1st Quarter 2018, another 3 months and then add the 2 together. I have taken short cut as I was looking at the full analysis. Thus UBA will need to make about 38,863 to meet the 2018 half year figure.

Stop reading a report with a bottle of 33 on one hand!

43,792 you see is for 6 months and not 3 months. That was the half year result for 2018. To get the Q2 2018, just subtract Q1 2018( i.e N23b) from the N43.793b. This should give you around N20b as the second quarter 2018 PAT
