@mobiss,

You don't need experience to get a positive assessment from Engineer Australia. Use your undergraduate thesis and industrial attachment to write the CDR.

You may not get positive assessment from AIMS.

Goodluck.

Yes,I am. My husband is a field engineer with 10years experience. Although his BSC was in Polymer and Textile Engineering but not practicing me.
I on the other hand,is a General practitioner with 4 years experience.
I understand the challenges that's why I need someone to guide me.
bellong:

Are you married?

What is your husband's qualification and occupation?

How many years of medical experience do you have and in what areas?

The process for foreign trained doctors is long and cumbersome.

Thanks, boss.

So, If I am calculating my points score I will have to choose zero years of work experience since my current job experience is not related to Engineering? Or is my current logistics job experience enough to claim 3 years score points under points calculator?

What do you mean by a field engineer? What aspect of engineering does he do on the field?

For you, I can't think of a stop gap occupation due to your experience except you start the AHPRA process which is long and expensive.

Alternatively, write the UK PLAB exams. After qualifying to practice in the UK, you can stay one year there and then move to Australia.

Oga Bellong,

Please how do you think a fellow with these credentials can secure an invitation for a 190 visa -

BSc Degree - Management Information Systems (earned in Cyprus)

Occupation - Management Consultant (non prorata occupation). Positive assessment from VETASSESS in April 2019 (no work experience given) - 15 points

Age - 24 (turns 25 by November). Let’s say 30 points by November

English test - will write PTE this month. Aims to secure 20 points.

Any chance she could get NSW nomination early next year with 70 points (state nomination points inclusive)?
Many states actually sponsor the occupation, even for 489, however, she wants to first explore the 190 option, since applicants will no longer be able to apply for 189/190 visa from 489 effective November this year.

Would you advise her to focus solely on 489 for NT/TAS or can she shoot for the NSW 190 visa option? Although, the occupation is also available for 189 but her chances would be very slim with 65 points.

She’s currently onshore in Brisbane on a subsequent entrant 485 visa (expires Oct 2020).

No partner points claimed as yet.

Your critical analysis and direction would be appreciated.

Thanks bro

Bhanjie,

You stated she is on subsequent entrant visa. What is the occupation of the principal visa holder?

I don't think anyone can categorically tell you chances with state nomination as it is dependent on states doing their thing. However, I do know that for management occupations, nomination is not that fast Compared to engineering and science. Nevertheless, the only way to know her chances is to apply.

What does she do in Brisbane? How about the principal visa holder?

The occupation that can match his experience is not on the skilled occupation lists.

You should look into the Canada migration.

Wow...hearing this for the first time. Does it mean that rig workers aren't migrating to Australia.I heard that Engineers particularly off shore personnels have good prospect there.Thank you for your candid advice.

Australia is a very low oil producing country, rig workers are not on the skillselect list and the closest occupation to that is mining engineering excluding petroleum engineering. Mining related professions are also finding it difficult to migrate due to decline in mining activities in recent years.

Sir, please any idea if hours worked is a requirement for Citizenship? Ie, if one wants to do Masters &/ Phd (part time jobs) would those years count in applying for Citizenship or would the person have to start all over?

Requirements for citizenship are

* Living in Australia legally for 4 years, with at least one year as a permanent resident.

* Good character. Must have not committed either minor or major indictable offence.

* Language requirement. This is through a test (very easy test)

* Good knowledge of Australia.

In all the requirements, there is none about the minimum hours of work.

The work hours is only relevant when moving from visa 489 to Permanent resident visa.

You can do your PhD, you will still get the citizenship once you meet the residence requirement.

@bhanjie,

In addition to my previous posts, getting state nomination while onshore is not that straightforward compared to those offshore.

Most states require onshore applicants to be living and working in their state or study in their state to be nominated.

This is to announce to everyone that I am in the process of finalising partnership with a registered migration agent to provide both immigration and temporary visas (study, business and tourist) services.

However, it doesn't stop me from providing instructions for those who are on DIY here.
when is it kicking off?
