davodyguy: Cover letter is a very important component for visa application especially those that visa interviews are not compulsory. It's on the letter that one will answer possible questions that would have been asked if the immigration officer is to interview he/she. It's there that one gets to explain his individual circumstances, full reason for travel, the value it will add to his life, his socioeconomic status amongst other things. Knowing how to draft this letter is another thing. |

ugsams:Best way to write this letter is by putting yourself in the position of that immigration officer who have absolutely no prior knowledge of you or your circumstances. but also have 100’s of other applications to go through at the same time as yours. This letter should not be bulky if u really want your case officer to read it. 3-4 pages max is enough Despite the great importance of a cover letter in any visa application, there’s no known template or format for it. Which means it doesn’t matter how It’s written as long as the message is delivered. Cover letters are unique to each individual and visa types. BUT all cover letter must contains most of the following information. Your cover letter must be able to; 1. Introduce you to the immigration officer (Name, passport number and Nationality), what you do and your socio-economy status. 2. Link together every other evidences or documents you’ve supplied 3. Your plans, duration and purpose for visit 4. Values or benefits the traveling will add to your personal life or business if granted visa. Also, I usually recommend that people include a “Table Of Content” to their application especially if it’s a paper application. It’s the best way to tell the case officer what documents you’ve included in the application. So even if they miss anything the first time, the table of contents will remind them. Lastly, Emotions is the only one thing that’s the same all over the world. So despite colour, race or status we all have emotions. Show a little bit of emotion/vulnerability towards the end of your letter. I mean just a “little bit” to show what the visa actually means to you but not in a desperate way and how u will “Never” break the conditions of your visa if it’s granted. This has worked for me many times. P.S; Information contained here are my personal opinions and should not be taken as immigration advise. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Hello Gorus on this thread i have been a silent reader here. I want to migrate for greener pastures Im a graduate of industrial chemistry and currently work in an FMCG, with over 5 years of working experience, no travel history. I want to relocate to New Zealand. I have seen vocational courses to apply for since their fees is not quite expensive. Its a 12 weeks course, my question is 1) can i work during my 12 weeks as a student? 2)after my visa expires can i change my status of my visa to live permanently or have work permit? Because i don't want to come back here to Nigeria once i leave. @femijck@ugsams please advice. God bless |

femijck: I agree with you. It doesnt change anything. It is a thing of Joy, even if immigration Newzealand follows this thread, they'll see we are not into illegality or speak on how to smuggle drugs into the country. When you became a kiwi, you posted here for everyone to see. No big deal sharing here honestly Over 7 applied and I was the only one granted. I appreciate God first and you all for the support and advise. It's good to share information for others to learn 4 Likes |
