The way I see it, OGS knows there are some players that shouldn't be there but it's either out of his hands or he's a yes man

Can only partially blame OGS for the failure to ship out dead wood.

We have illustrious players like Phil Jones and Ashley Young that 'top teams' like West Ham and fecking Brighton want nothing to do with. You also got management above who are trying to expend as little as possible in bringing in top playing staff which means you're unsure of ever properly replacing the discarded deadwood.

Then you have players like Rojo who should be Championship level at best and are on wages so large no other team will consider taking on their roster.

Stability is important so I could give less of a feck who goes out the window but if we are lad with still more deadwood after another transfer then I throw in the towel and just 'siddon look'

This is not the emotion driven vitriol chant that's sexy these days but it's cold hard solid facts.

He’s a club legend. Doesn’t want to pout in public like Jose. Hope he gets that midfield and CB addition he wanted. Else he may have to make do with what’s on ground. Seems like he’s even preparing for that.

I guess that’s why there are a number of youngsters on the plane to Australia. He might have to look to Axel, Greenwood, Gomes, Chong, etc more than he should next season.

If dem sign Pocherrino, na d same way dem go treat am.

Did you miss the part he said we've been calm and good in the market? Or the part he said at the end of the season he's bringing in only 2 or 3 players, that rebuilding is a gradual process?

Ole is satisfied with the level of signings so far. Don't try to put the blame on Woodward at every opportunity.

Why are you talking like you just started following football transfers. You saw how Tottenham listed players they want to offload this window.. That's how you offload players.. Indicate that Smalling and Jones are surplus to requirements and you'll see clubs come for them.. No one will come for those kinda players when we don't look like we want to offload them.

And didn't Ole tell one of the deadwoods( Rojo) that he is in his plans for next season? That says a lot.

LooL. You want him to start fighting the board before his first proper season. Even if we haven’t signed anybody he’s going to say something similar.

Haven’t you noticed that his pressers are always aimed at steadying the ship? You will hardly see him single out anybody for condemnation or say anything to attract headlines like Mourinho.

So you think he’s happy with Jones, Rojo, the performance of Young et al? What good will fighting them in pressers bring? If a key player get injured will he be able to turn to the players he has insulted to fill in?

Yes. Managing football clubs is 1+1.

Tottenham bought Ndombele already so if Wanyama and Eric Dier agitate, they’ll be sold. And there aren’t widespread rumors that they’re surplus to requirements.

And Madrid, didn’t they buy Hazard n co before saying Bale is surplus to requirement?

I don’t want these deadwoods here but like Elampiro said the other day, we shouldn’t get rid of them when there’s nothing on ground. Let the board bring in players and see if Smalling and Rojo won’t be sold immediately.

You don't even get it.

Right when the season was going to end Ole said he's bringing in only 2 or 3 players. Someone ready to drag it out with the board during the summer for the purchase on new players wouldn't say that.

Any manager will do what mourinho did if he's faced with deadwood players he can't manage. Poch does it everytime at Spurs and his players aren't really deadwoods..

This is the thing I don't get. Ole said he wants to bring like 3 players to the club.. We've signed two and Ole says he's satisfied with the signings done although there are one or two cases/ players they are still working on. So I don't understand where you get this notion Woodward is to blame for not initiating an overhaul of the squad.

If Ole had plans to get rid of them he wouldn't tell one of them early in the transfer window that he's in his plans for next season. To me Rojo was the worst of all our defenders last season. He's an injury player that spends most of the season recurperatin.. So how do you tell someone like that he's in the club's plan next season?

It was the same OGS that said some players won't be here next season towards the end of last season. Was he talking about Herrera and Pogba?

You’re just confusing yourself. We’ve got 2 signings out of a minimum of 3 and you think everyone is happy with that. And the coach is trying to encourage the board to get more players with positive comments.

For you, to show that he is unhappy, the coach should start attacking the board in pressers.

You’re not happy with the state of things. I’m not either but there’s nothing you can say or do that will bring in players.

Rojo at best is a waste of space. He should be treated worse than Costa.
I could not believe that gist from Rojo that Ole assured him of his place in the plans for the next season.
If you are assuring a player as useless as Rojo of that then you are not interested in offloading anybody.

Abi oo... These are the type of employers that will give attitude to their workers and let them know they are unwanted whilst there are no replacements on hand already.

I'm just thankful our board doesn't take policy advice from the fanbase.

Yeah, yeah. But you'll admit he did have a good run during Mou's first season in charge. He got injured and has been useless since then. He could be a backup option for the moment if he can stay fit.

This is why I prefer to read comments than to talk on this United thread.. Cuz I don't understand when I talked about attacking the board.. Any manager that is not satisfied with the level of signings the club has done would say he's looking to bring in more players and get rid of some players in the squad.. Not talk about being satisfied with the signings.

He doesn't need to attack the board. And he shouldn't say he's satisfied either. If Ole is truly not satisfied with the signings in reality and he's coming out to say these things , then he's more dumb and naive than I thought..

As for the Poch issue. Just make a 2 minutes research and you'll see examples of Poch complaining. In May, Pochetinho said he'll quit Tottenham of signings are not made.

Even LvG admitted recently in an interview that Rooney is a great player but was past it when he arrived at Carrington. Yet, he didn't belittle him in public or anything of the sort. He even played him often- I guess because there was no one else on ground.

We need at least 2 good signings in the middle of the park. We're too thin in midfield.

So you didn't see the later part of OGS' comment where he said he's expecting more players? And thereafter followed with a comment that he's always aiming to improve the squad??

Pochettino has been relatively quiet until that UCL achievement. Mr. Levy didn't buy anybody in the last season and Poch came out to say that their greatest achievement in the transfer window was not losing any of their players.

Give it a rest.

Many of them are already on their way out..You don't know this because the media usually don't make noise about Spurs players. Spurs are in discussion with Roma for the sale of Toby. Dany Rose is also on his way to Italy. So many like that. You don't get news about them until the transfer is done. Unlike United Players.

He played 5 league games last season, 9 games 2 seasons ago, and 21 games 3 seasons ago.

He has played less than 1 season’s worth of games in total over the past THREE seasons, and the number has been diminishing every year.

If this kind of person is in your plans you are only planning to fail.
