Good day everyone. I started following this thread recently and I'm very impressed with the selfless act of everyone trying to help each other. Please I have a question, I work as an engineer with company but a close family friend wants to sponsor me with his company, with provisions for back dated employment letter and other necessary documents required. My concern is that in my bank statement, will the funds coming from my current employer raise concerns to the Visa officer being that it's a different name from the company sponsoring me? Will they be concerned that the company sponsoring me hasn't credited my account at any point before or are will they just be focused on the inflow and outflow? I hope my question is clear enough.

(1) There are many factors. For most programs, once Fanshawe gives you an offer letter, you will be asked to make a deposit of 2300cad to validate offer within 30 days. Once you make the initial deposit, they may request you pay the balance before they give you the LOA. The conditions will be spelt out on the offer letter.

If the program is very competitive (programs such as Business Analysis, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Project management and IT programs), you will be asked to make all of 1st semester deposit before LOA is issued. The people on queue for these programs are just too much.

Also, if you apply early, you may be asked to make just the initial deposit but once too many people start applying or close to program start date, conditions will change.

(2) Your number two question, only CIC can answer that. Just apply and have faith.

P.s
For winter 2020 admission, please apply now. If your program has a co-op, please go for that. I wish you all the best.

Hello Chief @Naijaforeigner

Please Fanshawe got across to me that PGC Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM1) is to be changed to SCM2 with the change basically being addition of co-op to the program (which I think will also mean increase in duration of study) effective January 2020.

They said they were going to update and resend the admission letter. It is almost 10days now and I have not gotten the updated admission letter and this is delaying my visa application. Is it possible you have an idea of when this maybe sent or if you have an idea why the delay?

i was given an offer for Health inforamtics technology, i have been told to pay the initial deposit of $2330 canadian dollar, but i am waiting to apply for a masters program at Mcmaster before I firmly make a decision.

since he's sponsoring you, he could start by transferring some funds to your personal account from the company's account.

You will have to convince the vo why the company is sponsoring you and what they stand to gain.

Hello there, try writing them.. They're in the best position to give you a better answer. Be sure to let them know that your app is being delayed due to this.

Thanks

Well, with my little knowledge..Masters in Public Health in Memorial University of Newfoundland requires you make atleast 75% CGPA in your last two years in school i.e 3.75/5.0 and must have done a Statistics course in your undergraduate before you'll be eligible to apply..I don't know whether the 2.1 is a prerequisite but from what I've read so far,I think it is but other gurus in the house can help you..

I did a biostat course in my part 3.

convincing them isn't a problem, what I want to find out is how much they pay attention to details like if the company has been paying me monthly salary from time of employment. If it a company sponsoring me, I thought they don't have to make any commitment asides the sponsorship letter and other company document a d financial strength.

They pay attention to details of course. If the company is sponsoring you, then a commitment should be made. Since there haven't been a payment from them to your bank account before. You're certainly going to have the vo thinking... Hmm he's working for company A and getting sponsored by company B. What to do? Hmm.. You certainly will be doing a whole lot of convincing..
Then again you could deposit the money in your personal account as tbills, present a different account statement (if you have another) with sponsors deposit in it. Then present the tbills and account statements has prove of funds.

But what do I know...

Over to the gurus.

From what I've gathered here, company sponsoring usually raises the VO's brows, so naturally I think they will notice the descripancies as they will scrutinize you with double magnifying glass trying to find out why the company wants to use funds meant for their upkeep to sponsor u.

Good evening everyone, please any UBCO or UNBC graduate school Jan 2020 intake here?

Were you admitted to the McGills and/or the University of Toronto and UBC? They are the top schools in Canada and I hardly see Nigerians(on nairaland) apply/secure admission into these top 3 schools.
