He shouldn’t go for private na, he will have problem with applying for PGWP. He should vex and pay the money...consider it as an investment. Sought out your supervisor before applying if thesis based.

My dear, the best thing to do is to get all your referees to print their reference letters on an official letterhead and sign, then sealed in separate envelops and sign across the sealed envelop, then mail to the school through DHL, NIPOST, UPS, or any Currier company, that will make the reference letters official and acceptable.

BTW. Sending the printed letter through scanning may still be considered as unofficial, so the best bet is to mail the hard copy.

You mean i should mail the original hard copy? Will they give it back to me?

Does biometrics been updated even mean anything? I'm asking to know

..from the time your biometrics has been given and acknowledged signifies the counting period of the current processing time and also that your application processing has began or the likes

I am very sad right now.

I was looking through the application procedure for MUN. I discovered that MUN requires recommendation to be submitted via email and using an institution email address.

My issue is that most of my lecturers are not techy and they are not good with using emails and d rest. They find it stressful.

Secondly, my school's lecturers don't have institution emails. They have yahoomail and gmail. I am confused as to how i can make my application successful.

..for MUN, the references must come from an institutional or cooperate email

Hello everyone, am still in the early process of getting an admission in a university located in Canada, but I met a few stumbling blocks

Please, is there a list of UNIVERSITIES that waive off the regular admission fees of around $100?

Since it's non-refundable and one could still get rejected, I think the best approach is trying out a University that waives the fee.

I would be glad if anyone helps out with this, the two I came across online still asked me to pay $100 at the last page of my undergraduate application.

Thanks

University of British Columbia

Most top Canadian Universities require an application fee. That way they know you're actually committed and serious about the application. You could check these ones. N/B: Might be private and lowly ranked
- Royal Roads University - Mount Allison University Read - Fairleigh Dickinson University - Quest University -Booth University College - Redeemer University

One disadvantage about Canadian private universities is that they don't qualify international students for a PGWP except few that are affiliated to public universities.

Its best he increase it if he can. But try to let him mention it in the transfer. "School fees" or "Canada tuition fees"
The reason for this is so that it will show or reflect in both of your SOA. It helps.
BTW you are missing very important that you havent mention yet. HOME TIES.
Please do well to work on that.
For me: Purpose of visit ✔
Finance (if your uncle pay that as said) ✔
Get a personal asset if you can it will also help.
I wish you well.

I believe it is academic/professional reference letter for admission purpose we are talking about here, yes?
Every reference letter is addressed to a particular individual or organization, correct?
If I may ask, what do you want to do with the original? Are you hoping to use a reference letter addressed to Mr. A for both Mr.Z? If you need a copy for yourself, then make photocopy.
My advice is; if your referee doesn't have an official email address through which to send the reference letter, the referee should print out hard copy & sign, then mail the original hardcopy to the school. You don't need it back because it's not coming back, if you need another copy the referee can simply give another copy.

Its most likely to be Nairobi. However, to be quite sure, send an email to Lagos, London, and Nairobi with your application details; the right VAC will respond or copy you in the email to the right VAC handling your application.

How far with your application?

Perfect! since he is a third party it will be safe for him to state in his letter of support that the reason he hasn't paid the tuition balance was because the school only requested for the first part of it($4000) pending when your visa app is approved. That he has showed commitment by paying part of your tuition fee(as requested by your school) and has transferred your living expenses into your account (as requested by CIC).
Another important things, he needs to explain why he wants to sponsor you and state the number of dependants he has and show proof he will be able to take care of them after spending that much on you (he should show his source of income to prove that). Good luck

@Frankrobbn1 your comment means a lot to me I really appreciate ...

Well, He is my paternal uncle, his reason for sponsoring me was because; "I have been a responsible and serious minded individual and it would be something of joy to him to see me excel". His children are all above 18 so his wife is his only dependent

The only ish here is he hasn’t sponsored me prior to this moment i hope that won’t pose any issue, lastly will 8m suffice since he has paid my living expenses already

Thanks in anticipation of your Comment

His current financial commitment (10KCAD) which he deposited into your account adequately substantiate that he is willingly and eager to finance your stay. Hence, the previous history of financial support won't pose to be a problem with your application. Additionally, he(uncle) should clearly state that he has no dependents aside from his wife, that's the more reason he is investing in your academic pursuit. The 8M should be perfectly enough to cover for your tuition since you already have your living expenses at your disposal. Lest I forget, work on ties to Nigeria that can motivate your return home after studies as this is among the criterions that determines your admissiblity to Canada during the visa officer's assessment.

If you want to use an immigration Lawyer to pursuit your Study permit Application, make sure the lawyer is IRCC Authorised Representative, if the lawyer is an authorized Representative your chances of getting SP approve is high, because most of them certified by IRCC.
All study permit Applications made outside Canada from west Africa are handled by Nairobi Canada visa office, unless on few occasion, throughout 2019. Another Visa Office may handle SP by 2020.

You've got a good CGPA and you should be looking out for schools in Canada that will offer you full-funded scholarship for your intended program MSc in Biotechnology. I would suggest you start now by searching for potential Supervisor's in any of the reputable Canada's DLI that would be willing to accept you to work under his/her laboratory for the fall term 2020 and also gurantee you a graduate/research assistanship.

Hi Everyone,

2. Taxes here in Montreal are a freaking 15%! I bought my laptop and paid taxes of $114! Needless to say, buy your laptop before coming.

Goodluck to all TRV hopefuls, University admission hopefuls and GRE/GMAT hopefuls

Not everything is cheap. And what she was trying to say is the tax she paid for the laptop she bought, but applies to everything you buy unlike in Nigeria where we buy things freely without being properly taxed for them

My Uncle in the US is my sponsor, I identified he has paid my Confirmation deposit of 4000 CAD and He also transferred living expenses of 10000 CAD to my Dom acct. In my letter of introduction of sponsor I highlighted he would be Supporting me with 4 million Naira every year for my Tuition and Living expenses (it’s a 16 months program tho) . His acct shows balance of 20m + , nolump sum

Do you guys think i can go ahead with this ?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by kcosam: 4:03pm On Jul 24, 2019
It is not cheaper over there my dear, the $114 she mentioned as 15% tax means she got her laptop at about $760cad, when you convert it to naira it's about 200k depending on exchange rate. But the truth is that the quality of the laptops over there maybe higher than what's obtainable in Nigeria even for same brand, same model. In Canada they don't compromise with quality standard.
