What's up Nairaland, Please Pardon my English.

So me and my man been married for a year now but here's the thing he does that pisses me OFF!!! TOTALLY!!!! ehn, every time I cook rice and stew (fried stew/fish/meat) he'd ask me to go outside the estate to go and buy Ewa(beans) (I'm using Ewa because that's how he pronounces it. So I noticed this earlier and I started Cooking beans anytime I cook rice. He'll still request for 'Ewa' the Mama put beans made and sold by the roadside

While we dated he'd even ask me to cook for himself and his friends and if my cooking was bad, I'd have gotten feedback somehow.. how can I serve food and he'll ask me to go get 'Ewa' at Shangisha Outside Magodo Gra to mix his rice even when we have visitors he will send me a whatsapp message to still go get Ewa most times he'll even book uber if i tell him I'm too tired to drive I'm tired of going to buy Ewa!!

How do i get to know what the problem is, because it's definitely not my cooking, 2 of my office buddies they don't buy lunch because i bring enough food for 3 of us everyday and they'd have stopped eating it if it was bad
lol , it isn't that you don't cook good food. It's only that he hasn't yet come to terms with that idea that he is married now to a good cook now. Don't fight him over that , I will suggest u buy 1000 beans from the woman and store it in your fridge for him and let him know you aren't going to feed your husband with that again after he has finished that.

Simple solution. Cook the beans, divide into two. Put plenty pepper etc in one cook the other differently. When he says get the beans from outside. Just serve him the one with plenty pepper etc and say it's from outside. Case closed.

Haba no need for all that. Since it might be a hassle to go out and buy it everytime, just buy a week's worth of beans and keep in freezer. Somebody knows what he likes and is asking for it (and I'm assuming it's part of the house budget)... why make him feel bad about it?

I won't indulge such behaviour. If it's something that is once in a while, it's understandable. But not that often like he has been jazzed.

If it was the lady that was doing that, all hell would have broken loose. Even your comment would be different.

The agonyin beans outside Magodo phase 2 gate can be very very addictive, especially with the eja kika(rounded fish) soaked in the agonyin stew.... Those days in Propertymart isn't complete without it. lol

Your husband is such a polite gentleman. His kind is rare and he thinks so much about how you'd feel and that's why he won't tell you truth.
That is so wrong of him but Hanty, NwaAmaikpe is here to serve you that long hidden truth.

You are a pathetic cook and he is being too civil to say it. Dude cares so much about it not coming off the wrong way so he'd communicate indirectly and expect an intelligent you to get the subliminal message.

Sadly you don't.

Your colleagues only tolerate your meal because it is free. I don't think they'd eat past a spoon if they were paying for it.
You also don't expect them to criticize it because very few are like us.

I once had a colleague back then who always brought food for me. One day I decided to give it a try.
I tasted the beans and it was like raw carbide mixed with Cameroon pepper.
Anyways, I was courteous enough to tell her to send an assassin instead of trying to kill me with food.

Ewa should be the easiest thing for you to cook....so if he keeps requesting for Iya Basira's ewa, it is so that it can help neutralize the effect of the remaining of your edible poison in the rice and stew.

Please be a virtuous woman.
Be a wife,
And be a mother to that poor man.
It's not fair that you have to send him to Sokoto to get what is in his shokoto.
It's also not fair that you waste his resources to build office relationships.

It is from clapping that the best dances emanate.
Today, you feel obliged to feed your colleagues.
They now eat daily from your cooler. I hope very soon they won't be eating out of your honeypot as well?

Looks like he's used to the mama put beans and the way the prepare it, maybe they always use firewood to cook it and it gives it a particular aroma your husband love, things like these happen

This means your husband is the one in love with beans. He is not controlled by jazz or any such thing. You just simply need to learn to make it better than what he gets outside. For starters, you can cook mashed white beans and sardines, make it really delicious trust me, he is gonna forget these roadside cooks. Beans is his best food, its not yours still make that sacrifice, make him want your beans.

I love your idea.

Madam keep quiet abeg!

What do you people think marriage is all about? Just because he sends you to buy ewa agoyin anytime you cook, youre complaining... So where's the love you have for him? Most of you just want to get married and still be in charge of yourselves which is totally wrong. You're now his and whatever he tells you to do that will not kill, you must do it cos when you were saying I do at the altar was when you accepted and agreed to do all his biddings.
One of my pastors would say " if you're not ready to take nonsense " don't go into marriage. Thats why you should maximise your singlehood and enjoy it very well before jumping into marriage because marriage is not Sidon look, it comes with a whole lot of responsibilities that if you're not prepared, youll give up; which is exactly what you're doing now.

If you're even smart, you can start cooking ewa agoin at home since he likes it. Thats the only way to solve this small thing cos to me its not a big deal.

HOW TO PREPARE EWA

Olotu beans 1derika
Onions
Dried long pepper seeds 1/2 derika ( you can it at oyingbo or your local market. Only the seed)
Crayfish ginded
Ginger

Cook you beans in a pressure cooker for long time over night with enough water on a low heat.
You can a white potash or leave it out.
Make sure its very soft with little water still in it to marsh it.
Then add salt and use your turning stick to marsh until its pasty.

EWA AGOIN SAUCE

Slice enough onions and soak in tepid water (room temperature) this to remove the sulphur and prevent it from burning cos you're going to be frying for long until it turns brown but not burnt.

Soak the seed for some mins and blend with ginger. Not too watery

Put enough oil in a pot on the fire on a low heat. Allow it to steam a few secs not to bleaching point then remove the onion from water and add to the oil. Fry for some mins when it almost brown and add the ginded crayfish, ginger/pepper and continue to stir.
You'll fry for long or until everything is brown and dried. Please watch as you go to make sure its not burning. You should know what the sauce looks like na to be able to tell when its ready to bring down.

Your Hubby's EWA is ready.

Anytime you cook rice just serve him at once with the Ewax instead of waiting to be reminded of your duties.

Una wen don marry nor dey sabi wetin to do for husband house.

Enjoy your marriage o? Its not all lovey dovey all the time but be up and doing and you're scale through the hurdles of it.

Nothing is wrong with your cooking: your hubby is just addicted to eating out. He just needs to call himself to order.
Re: Please Help My Husband Does This Weird Stuff by Nobody: 8:22am On Aug 14, 2019
Madam honestly I won't lie to you, I'm a Man, the truth is, He is addicted to that roadside food taste, nevertheless, it's absolutely rude for him to tell you to go buy the food for him outside or neglect yours; all these people asking you to go and learn the woman's recipe, I don't subscribe to that, your husband should learn to love your own food, that's why you both are one. he should love you for what you are, not for what he wants you to be. so my advice, turn down going to buy the beans for him, and starve him for a while if he continues, after a while, He'd sit up. trust me... I'm a Man, I know how this works. lol

Let me tell you the truth madam. Your husband might not know those beans seller. Due to competition among food vendors, many had gone spiritual.

During my undergraduate studies, a friend of mine bought akara from one very fat woman (town name withheld). He met a small ring in one bean cake and show me. So we decided to return it to her the following day. She was very happy we return it. She said she had been searching for it. Mind you, that ring wasnt her size ,too small for her to put on. So what do you expect us to think. That day was the last I patronises her before graduating. Since then, I rarely visit canteen.

May God help u.

Ewa(beans) I believe your husband means another thing, Ewa can either be Beans, beauty or manners
So, I believe you should speak to your husband just to know the matter is all about, maybe there is a way you always behave whenever you usually served him food before you got married and now u stop that, or maybe you don't know how to dish food properly when ever u finished cooking or there is a way u usually behave that he does not like. but to beauty maybe you don't dress intoxicating like you do before when you want to served him, maybe u are not as romantic as before.
