I urgently need your red pen and your advice. I would appreciate if you post this as your Chronicle today. So I was helping my younger sister install something on her phone and mistakenly saw her bank details.


My younger sister of 23 has about 1.2 million naira in her account. This is a girl who works in a private company in Lekki and earns 50k monthly.


Her transportation expenses takes about 20k monthly and most times she's left with 30k. My dad even said nobody should ask money from her till she finds a better job. I don't know how she got this kind of cash and don't know if I should inform our parents.

I'm not a snitchy brother and I wouldn't want cause issues but I'm confused and I don't know what to do. Please advise me!

Very possible. I know someone that wa sin the administrative unit of a private firm. He didn't want to leave that unit, because of all the deals he is into.

If at all she is into runs, then she is a smart one. She obviously has a fats retirement plan. So many runs-girls do not. That is why you will see someone doing runs for 10yrs

one lady in my office was ensnared in a ghost worker scam. her sister had been auditing some govt agency and created ghost workers and the salaries were remitted to her account for over a year. she was in the efcc mess for over six months. somehow she got out of it

someone else i know was into stockbroking. [this was years ago] next thing i heard she and her husnadb had built hospital etc etc. turned out they were stealing clients money. straight efcc matter. and this was when efcc was efcc. her folks must have sweated blood on that matter

then again, it could just be office kickbacks. if you are in a department like procurement - vendors will be settling you steady. some bosses ensure everyone in the department gets a cut [chop alone die alone tinz]

she could also be in some company scams. i worked in a downstream company for 14 years. there are scams at every level - right from the petrol attendants cheating the station dealers, to station dealers having slush funds.

and there are different guys who have forged signatures and gotten approvals. that too dey happen well well.

and finally, she could just have a side hustle tied to the business that is netting her income.

true. I know of one. First class graduate was using bank money to trade codely. He was later caught spent 5 months in ikoyi prisons before they let him go.career ruined now

i knew badiru abidemi in secondary school. dude was quasi school father. this dude was BRILLIANT. we were in the school for the gifted. i could not understand how someone who probably finished with a first would do that. [this was years ago, back in 2004]

there's another guy there, who was my inlaw's best friend from uni. that one made even less sense. the guy was dating and had married one super buta chick . apparently he felt he had to take care of her properly or something. in the end, what he was running away from is what he brought on them. he fled to uk, where she is a citizen, and she had to work for the two of them.

for that reason, though, the guys needs to find out what his sister is doing. because in the case of my inlaws friend, efcc harassed every one of the guys known associates. though this was 2003/2004 when efcc was still efcc, before yardua/jona fked it over.

Why not be very close to her and see if she can help you with some of the money to solve your problem

Just be respecting yourself and respect her too and she will be assisting you

[b] Good morning Stella. I'm the guy whose story was posted on your Chronicle yesterday. Well I send that story about two weeks ago and had lost hope about you posting it.


Most of your followers were bashing me and telling me to mind my business. Some even said I was broke. The truth is i'm not broke. I work and earn about 150k monthly and I am just 27 years old.

I eventually asked my sister about the money and she said it was for someone but when she noticed I didn't believe her she confessed to me.

Apparently she's dating this married older banker in Victoria island and the guy who is in his late fifties has been spending money on her. The painful part is my mum knows about it because the man opened a supermarket for my mother.


I was so hurt and ashamed. I mean which my mother would open her eyes and allow her 23 years old daughter to be sleeping with a man older than her own father. While my mum has been going around lying that her older brother who is in the UK sent her money to open the supermarket.


Anyways I'm back to my state of residence now without saying a word to both my parents but I'm sure my mum knows I know. My sister said she has broken up with the man but then It's actually none of my business again.
