I submit my application on the 17th may also and still yet to get my passport back, got a message that my case has been escalated after sending different mails and calls.
Dunno what to do again cos I need my passport back

tmoneyluvsu:
Good day wonderful people.
I was denied a tourist visa in 2017,i re-applied this year on the 17th of May with a balance of one million, five hundred and fifty thousand naira.
Travel budget 693k
Salary 325k
Biometrics 17th of May, 2019.
I got a mail that my application has been received, uptil now, no email from UKVI, I've called and sent emails.
Nb : my documents are legit, even asked my office if they've received any call or email from UKVI and they said NO.
Is anyone going through the same? This is becoming tiring.

The guru like giselle237 BizBloke and others, see what i have updated it to below.I however still need some clarification

Depart Lagos Nov 24th arrive UK 25th (Overnight flight)
Depart UK Dec 1st arrive Lagos 2nd Dec (Overnight flight)

How many days of visit in this case as applicable in the UK application process?

Below is the breakdown for my 8days visit (All cost in pounds)
Flight – 495
Hotel – 250 (estimated)
Feeding – 150
Sight-seeing - 80
Intra-city transport – 50
Shopping - 100
Miscellaneous – 30

Total 1,200 pounds budget

giselle237:
what currencies are these? And your hotel budget is much..
Miscellaneous, sight seeing, intra city transport budget are not compulsory to be mapped out... you can sum it up in one and write a lesser amount
redo your budget using 400000-180000... which is 220k x 2
Ur safe budget shudnt be more than twice ur disposable income.
My advice

Reduce your disposable income,
Look for a cheap hotel or hostel
Reduce trip to 6-9 days
Finally reduce total budget using disposable income x 2 as your yardstick

From experience that a close relative had, in your new application come clean.u will be asked on your application form if you've been known by any other name, please say yes and put that name u used 10 years ago. If you answer No peren! That's 10 years ban. U will now include a cover letter explaining how u were mislead 10 years ago but now u knw better. U dnt need to do any change of name. All they want is honesty.

kenseT:
Hello house,
Please I need help, seeeeerious help! When I was younger ( i mean about 10yrs ago) my desperation to visit my friends in the UK took a better part of me. I made some decisions back then and trust me they are bad ones ( very very bad ones). Used a different name and dob ( travel agent's instructions) I also did biometrics o!.

Aside wanting to visit UK now,my major worries are
1) what would happen if I tender my real information now.( I can't risk my passport seized)

2) if eventually all these countries start sharing visa application data, what would become of my future US,Canada and Schengen applications .
I have a valid US and lots of expired of schengen visas .Aside the sudden urge to visit UK ,I also need to clear my mess.
Please,I need advise.

It’s 7days trip and your budget is waaaaayyyy too much for 7days. Put it like this;
Flight- £480
Feeding- £100
Sight seeing - £50(there are a lot of free tourist places where you don’t have to buy a ticket, so look into it.)
Transport- £80
Miscellaneous- £30
Accommodation- £80 (use a hostel, so search for a cheap hostel close to places you’ll be going sight seeing, so your transportation won’t be expensive.)You should get a hostel for this amount for a 7days visit.
Shopping- £20 (It’s not a must you shop, even if you want to shop, it can be shopping for chocolates, this amount is more than enough for chocolates.

So your flight(return) would be £480,
Living expenses would be £360
If you add both, the total cost of your trip would be £840.

Your transportation is higher if you consider transportation from heathrow to your hostel on the day you arrive and your transportation from your hostel to heathrow on the day you leave.

Remember you won’t be going sight seeing the day you arrive the uk and the day you leave, your sight seeing days are 5days if you remove the day you arrive and the day you leave, so your budget shouldn’t be crazy.
*This is just my opinion.*

I’m not a guru.......
They don’t ask u for separate bill for intracity transport, shopping, miscellaneous.. this alone is 260... this can come down
ur hotel bill should still come down..oga/madam check booking dot com well
If you are single, don’t list anyone as a dependent
In my opinion, stay on the safe side of 2 times your disposable income... or just a little bit over( with today’s exchange rate that should not be more than 950-970pounds if you are still using a disposable income of 220,000 naira )
The trip duration is nov 25th till Dec 1st, count it and write it.

As a tourist, in your application or cover letter take time to write travel itinerary with each date from arrival to departure... day 1 arrival, day 2, rest a bit and then have dinner at bla bla, day 3 wedding gown or men’s wear window shopping, visit so so architectural site and gardens.. have lunch at tearoom bla bla bla, day 4 visit this thattt centre, garden, seaside whatever, day 5 attend jazz festival, michael kini kan’s free session, window shopping bla bla at oxford street, day 6... bla bla bla and rest in my hotel, day 7 departure ... google and know interesting free side attractions and tourist sites in that particular city that would make up your itinerary.
Round it up with prayers.

Not a guru, mbok.
1. Flight: This is fine. £495.

2. Hotel: Giselle has covered this; so no need really touching it much.
You need to work it down low. Use Booking.com, filter the search to hotels within the postcode you're travelling to; also, use "Lowest First" filter to get cheaper/affordable rates. You can get £100 for 7 days, or lower.

3. Feeding: This means you'll spend roughly £21.5/day if we go with 7 days or £30 if we go with 5 days. I think this is fine. £150.

4. Sightseeing: NGN45,000 (£100 @ NGN450/£) should serve, instead of NGN80,000. Even if you plan visiting a museum, a ticket should be around £8-£15 but it depends.

5. Intra-City Transport: This, I know is fine. Mention in your cover letter that you'll purchase "Dayrider Ticket" per day so that it covers your bus trips within the city. So, £50.

6. Shopping & Miscellaneous: Chocolates, cookies, et al. could be gotten from 50p up. So perhaps the budget for this is okay or you can work down "Shopping" to £70 so that both adds up to £100.

£495 + £100 + £150 + £100 + £50 + £100 = £995. Still look at these categories & see what specific category's budget can be realistically reduced (Feeding, for instance?)

Cheers!

Thanks for the response. I agree with your inputs. Just that for 6, won’t it bear any consequences for this:

“At any time have you ever had any of the following in the UK or in another country

A warning, caution, reprimand or penalty”

Yes, if asked then you need to be honest and come clean. Also, make sure you have a proper explanation of what actually happened and that the penalty was paid within the stipulated time. If you still have the evidence of payment, attach it to your application.

Actually, coming clean removes any doubt on your application and the ECO may overlook it. As i mentioned earlier, its a civil offence and this happens every day. The fact that this happened in an environment you were not familiar with makes it even less of a worry.

This is one way most European countries use to milk money out of tourists. You get penalty even for spitting in some countries!

How will you be able to prove your friendship with your Facebook friend?
then your employment status is a problem ... most UK visas are granted to adults when they can pay for their vacation not another adult sponsoring everything for them .. well no kwalms if you want to go ahead
Are you married, any children, have investments or landed property?

And you don’t have any employment for now... ok lets say it this way.. if you were the visa officer would you give a visa with such circumstances and why..
You currently don’t have any ties to show that you will come back to Nigeria and you cannot sponsor at least some of your travel with such account balance ... these are d greatest hurdles
Lastly have you and your Facebook friend met before?

To be honest, you’ll be wasting money if you apply, first of all,
1) if you were a salary earner, I would have said you go as a tourist without mentioning the friend you have over there because they won’t consider any “internet friendship” , she can only be seen as your friend if you’ve met in person. (This is just My opinion).

2) You don’t have a job/business to come back to after your holiday so they’ll see you as someone who won’t come back once granted the visa.
My first application was refused because I didn’t submit any evidence of having a job.
I wish I could give you a positive response but I am just telling you as it is.

My brother, there are only two options that might work here.
1: apply for a fiancée visa, if she is your lover and she meet the requirements.
2: let her come to naija, get married to you, and you apply for spouse visa.
To be honest with you just as other has advised you it will be difficult to get a visit visa with your current status. That's the fact.
Sorry

Please gurus in the house I'm new on this tread & I need help..

I want to apply for UK visit visa & I resigned from my work a year ago. Though I do other business like bitcoin, I get up to 400k monthly. I'm married with a 3 months old child.

I met an agent & he told me he has an insider in UK embassy and the visa is 100% guaranteed. He asked about my statement and I told him I don't have fat money in my account but I can sponsor my trip to & fro. He said he can provide me with a statement that has good record.

I don't have a landed property, I don't have a salary job but I'm legally married.

I need advise on how to go about applying for a UK visit visa..

Nb: I haven't applied before & my passport is a virgin one...
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by MrsDaniels(f): 9:18pm On Sep 24, 2019
My dear since my years on earth and in living in England never ever have i seen anyone who has an insider to guarantee a UK visa. Am sorry to say.

1. Run as fast as you can from such a stupendious and a liar such as that agent.....If you allow them run your application then get ready to be messed up big time and if the UKVI verifies the statement to be fake then you ll be denied and also banned for 10years for forgery and misrepresentation too as its a very serious offence....which has happened to several people who fall prey to such lies been told by these hungry so called agents. My dear Uk visa application is as straight forward as AbC fill the form yourself please.

2. Never ever....i repeat pls never make a mistake of letting any useless agent give you bank statement as its fraudulent.....they forge it by doing "Funds Parking" to make the acc balance bogus.

Print 6months bank statement from ur bank and tell them its for Embassy purpose. And gather all your docs genuienely. Submit ur application. Pray more as thats the key as its Gods grace that speaks at the end of it all. .

3. You not having a Salary Job could pose to be problematic as thats to be one of your greatest tie to Nigeria. But you can submit your business certificates or tax certs to show where ur income is coming from. And make sure to use 2times your monthly disposable income. You earn well so its left to you to package your application well.

I wish you goodluck and a favourable outcome and consideration.
