Thanks to moderator who moved the topic to fp and i got the answer i needed.

I bought a vehicle 'bus 18seater' and kicked off the business. The business has been filled with pains and joy but i always keep my head up.

Two days ago the car failed break so i parked it by the road hoping to return the next day with a mechanic since it was night. Coming the next day, electric pole and fence fell on the bus and damaged it beyond repairs.

The cause of the accident is as a result of the gutter a construction company dug.

Should i sue d company? What should i do. Am confused and depressed. 60% of the money i used in buying the bus was a loan. I haven't paid it.

Show pics of the vehicle let's see the extent of the damage.. cos sometimes en the amount you would have used to start a case just might fix the vehicle and you get on with your life and there is nothing like beyond repairs

This is more like force majeure (an act of God). The company is not liable if established.

Am no lawyer. Seek an advice of an attorney and thread carefully so that you don't waste scarce resources further on lawyers

Do you have pictures of the scene.?

This is a no case submission and will be stroke out for lack of merit . Don't waste your time going to court. First is your duty to fix every problem your car has and you take responsibility for your negligence. Secondly where you parked that car is illegal ...the only legal place to park a car is in a designated park....where you will pay for security...another alternative was to take it to nearby police station for safety. ..although you 've to pay some agberos to help you push....I always do this one cos I don't want my car vandalised next day. ...what happened to your car is natural disaster...May God direct kind hearted people that will help you with some cash to fix it. I don't know if insurance covers natural disaster...

Oga, don't commit suicide o. Please furnish us the picture of the bus at the scene of the incident before you take any legal decision. As a result of where you parked, it may be a classic case of "contributory negligence" on your own part sir.

So where does the money for litigation comes from ?

This is a long journey to embark on. It is best you remain strong and start all over again. I won’t advice you to compound your problem. It takes a lot of strength and money to get justice in this country. Why cant you channel the money and energy you are planning on a case that you may not get justice on something else.

U did noble ,but never think of suicide is never an option, are u d one driving the bus ?because if u are not ,believe me is the reason u having those problems, see if u can reach an agreement with the parties involved so that they can get the bus fixed.

No protection for you whatsoever in that.
so you took loan to buy bus for transport business and you didn't think of
protecting the major source of your business profits.

Did you insure the car? That's why it's advisable to buy insurance policy to take care of eventualities especially car insurance policy(Not third party), but Nigerians see it as a waste of resources(money)

Suicide shouldn't be an option bro. Everyone in life has a story to tell. Be bold enough to face the future with hope and determination.
