Nigerians watch CNN much more than NTA.

Advertising a local product on CNN it's a waste of fund there's no need for it, in as much as the international community does not consume it.

That's why Bode George keeps failing in every endeavour; hes so unintelligent and his understand of issues is somewhat hollow. First, what is his business about a company's finances, or are they complaining about the hefty sums they're spending on the ads? Second, the end justifies the means; Glo, Zenith and Dangote are among the most profitable business organizations in Nigeria as we speak. Today, Glo has overtaken MTN to become the network with highest subscribers. Zenith is among the top 3 strongest banks in nigeria. Do I need to say anything about Dangote's dominance in Africa? If they're doing well business wise, perhaps they're doing something others still aren't doing.
Third, Dangote is no longer a Nigeria brand, its fast becoming an Africa brand with branches all across Africa; Globacom has offices in about 16 African countries, Zenith is not just in Nigeria, its banks are across Africa and Europe as well. So, they should keep advertising on NTA alone?!! Senility is seriously affecting Mr Bode George!!

Typical example is the new Dangote refinery which the finance is largely "foreign" money.

All those products you mentioned are being consumed worldwide thereby advertising it worldwide isn't bad for their business. But look at it from this point, those local products and services are not being consumed worldwide, wonder why they advertise it all over the world.

What a lot of people don't know here is that CNN has different streams they give people for which is based on your geographical location which means that the CNN I am watching on DSTV or Startimes is not exactly the same thing beign watched in Washiton DC. So therefore the programmes and adverts you watch on CNN are targeted towards Africa which is where this companies mostly operate

Very sensible talk..the reasons are real at hand Bode George make the first public sense on the economics issues..

This man needs to understand one thing... The fact that CNN is showing in Nigeria/Africa does not mean that CNN adverts are shown across the globe...what CNN Africa will show in terms of adverts is different from the advert CNN Europe will show...

It's just like Supersport Nigeria and the main Supersport in south Africa, there are two different channels but most people won't notice... Their ads are different and sometimes the contents is different.

Owners and managers of Nigeria-domiciled companies whose products and services are meant for Nigerian consumption but are being advertised on expensive foreign media such as CNN and others have been described as shameless people on mere ego trip.

Their products and services are not solely meant for Nigerian consumption. They operate in other African countries.

Exactly my opinion earlier....

The middle class of the Nigerian society don't watch local channels because they lack content, they watch cable TV, the target market for the likes of dangote, Glo, and banks are the working class. Their aim is to make them return customers. I think Baba George is ignorant of how big businesses work, they must have done a cost to benefit analysis b4 embarking on the advert.
