Exactly the kind of Pentecostal prayer and ranting that turned Nigeria to a banana republic where
every body wants a lion share of what has not been worked for. They are all over the place praying
to take what their "enemy" (usually their grand mother in the village or their neighbour Mama Risikat)
has been labouring for.

7 RCCG churches on one street plus another 7 others with names ranging from Mounting of Takeover
to Global Dominion without effort. A bank and a church on same building?

May the God of heaven and earth show mercy to the children of Mammon in Nigeria.

There's nothing wrong with d prayer. Isaiah 43:3-4 is there 4u to read. If redeemed has 7 branches on one street, is that not hardwork? U think it is easy to open a church how much more open 7 branches on just one street?

Isaiah 43:3-4. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with d prayer

And where is the place for works? Where is the place for discipline?

Or did Joseph pray himself into the position of prime minister in Egypt?

All these kind of prayer points that appeals to the mental laziness of religious zealots is really disgusting.

D prayer doesn't make anyone lazy. If u want to b lazy, u will still b lazy. I have shown u scripture that supports d prayer so I don't no what u arguing. Even Joseph u referring is a product of that prayer. Or can u tell me how a foreign slave qualified to b PM of Egypt?

Joseph got his promotion through the gift of interpretation of dreams and wisdom. So, what is your unique gift the world is looking for? Protocols will not be overlooked. Your gift and grace will make way for you.

Bros there are many people with gifts who are languishing and unheard of. There are hardworking people who are poor and broke. Effort isn't enough. Even with Josephs gifts, he still wasn't qualified to b a PM. He was a foreigner & least of all, a slave and a convict. So d prayer is very much in order. It is very scriptural

Joseph made use of his God given talents. Joseph was diligent and loyal, and had an impeccable track record in the house of Potiphar and even in jail.

Not just mumbling off point prayers to the roof and seeking for divine favours without any effort on his part.

Lemme show you how funny this prayer sounds with an analogy.

A lion chases a zebra...the Zebra prays to God to escape the lion and spare its life. The lion prays to God to help it capture the zebra for food.

Who will God answer? Ponder on this.

And mind you, anyone can quote to justify irrational conclusions. The scriptures can also be quoted to justify genocide.

It is about how the beings who loved science were encaging the beings who loved religion. The religious gods, including Jehovah, Allah, Moloch, Eshu, Mazda and thousands others were eventually caged in a vacuum for 1000 years so that humanity could be rapidly free from mental slavery of religion and to bring the development of a scientific world to a rapid existence.

Oga, the same bible says that the hands of the diligent brings forth wealth and he that works with a slack hand becomes poor. Organisations promote those that will offer more value.

It pays to work hard. If you really understand your bible, all great men and women of faith were hard workers. David was prepared under fire by the dangers in the wilderness, Esther prepared herself for one night by working for a whole year, What of Daniel and Joseph?? The list goes on and on bros.

First of, pls read Isaiah 43:3-4. It supports d prayer of Adeboye. Second, am.glad u mentioned Esther. Pls which work did she work that enabled her to b chosen Queen? U mentioned David. Yes David was hardworking and he never lost a single battle. It wasn't because he was hardworking. It was because God always gave him expo. What of Daniel, bros which hardwork do u need to survive in a lions den?

Joseph had an "impeccable record" in potiphars house and he ended up in d prison? Was his "impeccable record" in his CV when pharaoh located him?

Dude by every standard Joseph wasn't qualified to b a prime minister in egypt "impeccable record" or not. He was foreigner. He was a slave and he was a prisoner. "Impeccable record" isn't what took Joseph to d palace

Oh, you’re arguing Joseph was sloppy slave in Potiphar’s house? Or false accusations now counts for blemishing one’s integrity?

Yeah right, Joseph wasn’t qualified to be the prime minister, but Pharaoh couldn’t find one single wise man in Egypt to implement the advice Joseph gave him hmmm? Mtcheew...

Another joke on that childish prayer point is how everyone wants the promotion and sweet story of Joseph...but no one is willing to ask for the sad part of the story. No one is willing to go to prison or be sold into slavery...or be framed up...but they all want to be favoured like Joseph...

Little wonder when people go through tough times, they quickly see suicide as a way out.

Y’all better ask for the total package. God is no fool...God is no ATM...

With all Josephs hardwork, y did his master not over rule d wife and insist on keeping Joseph? If d prayer adeboye prayed is a childish prayer point, then in Isaiah 43:3-4 that I quoted, God made childish promises.

D question u have failed to answer is how does a slave, a foreigner and a prisoner just automatically quality to be a prime minister just because of "impeccable record"?

There was no set qualifications for prime minister in Egypt. The law was decided by Pharoah.

So, no existing protocols were broken or bent for Joseph. He did not only interpret Pharoah's dreams, he also suggested a very wise way of dealing with the coming crisis.

It was not unusual in those days for Kings to reward people for doing something important for them.

Did you realize that Joseph's hardwork made Portipher put him in charge of his household?

Joseph fell out of favor because Portipher thought he was a bad person. Only bad persons try to force themselves on women.

As for prime minister, there were no set rules for becoming prime minister in those days. There were no evidence that there was even a prime minister before Joseph. All we know is that Pharoah probably carved out that office to manage the economic crisis that Joseph predicted.

Joseph was chosen because he had shown wisdom by suggesting ways to manage the crisis. He was the most qualified to occupy that position.

Very much sir, protocols were broken. In those days, foreigners were third class citizens. Now add slave and prisoner to mix, that's down d line in societal hierarchy. Even in today's society, d stigma of being a prisoner is hard to break how much more those days. Slaves were considered items and properties. They weren't seen as human beings with rights or worth. They were acquired and disposed off like garbage. So my dear, a lot of protocols were broken

Bro, say only what you know.

How foreigners were treated in those days depended on the ruler. The Pharoah during Joseph's time was very liberal unlike the one that God dealt with. Some rulers hated slaves, some were liberal and even allowed slaves head their household. Portipher let Joseph head his household at a time.

There were no fixed rules on how foreigners were regarded.

Go to history, and you would find stories of slaves or peasants who became kings and emperors.

Pastor Adeboye's prayer which was shared on Twitter has started off a controversy on the social media platform.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) General Overseer's prayer centered on the suspension of protocols, rules, and criteria just like God did for Joseph.

The prayer read;

https://mobile.twitter.com/PastorEAAdeboye/status/1188348014911467521

However, some Nigerians felt the prayer encouraged nepotism, corruption, and mediocrity.

I have explained to you that Joseph's hardwork spoke for him. His alleged bad deed also spoke against him.

There is a balance in life. Portipher rewarded him for his good deeds, but when he was accused of a bad deed, he fell out of favor.

There are rewards and punishment for everything. Stop encouraging nepotism, corruption and favoritism.

I am a living faith aka winners member,

I listen to Prophet TB Joshuah teachings more because it changes me more internally and keeps me focused on things of the spirit...

I listen to oyedepo teachings because it's charges me faith to work hard in kingdom advancement so that I will be able to heal the sick and set spiritual captives free...

As for the rest not really, Christians must seek God's face above all things. These men of God have secrets they found about God or given secrets from God.

It's the Holy Spirit that opens your eyes to it, following blindly and religiously will always lead to setbacks at a point in time.

So, now, you are trying to demean Joseph's position in Portipher's house by saying he was merely the head slave?

My Bible said Portipher put Joseph in charge of his household and everything he owned. Joseph worked in administrative capacity.

Doesn't look like a mere head slave to me.

Oh, has He given them Egypt till this day? The Promised Land was given to them on a platter of gold, right? They didn't work for it. The people simply fled when they saw the Israelites? The Israelites did not fight series of war against the Canaanites. War protocols was simply broken and the Israelites just went into Canaan and took the land.
