Seems you have family members in Canada and not much in Nigeria? This looks like you have stronger ties in Canada than in Nigeria.

Also the second paragraph is talking about your employment situation, are you currently employed? Perhaps you need to show proof of employability at the end of your course.

Just my 2 cent, I ll let the gurus give their opinions.

Qudkom:

Hi sorry about your refusal to begin with you'll need to state;
1. What you currently do in terms of employment.
2. What are the documents you submitted to verify your family ties.

P.s: Don't be too hard on yourself lately I have seen some gutting decisions by the VOs and it's just hard to understand. You can imagine a guy that works for his father (proof of employment, 2 company account, tax receipts, license etc) getting refused on employment bases... And also home ties even with the fact that he's got a sibling fully settled in Canada. sad

Thank you for your responses.

Presently, I don’t have any family in Canada and for the home ties; I used my spouse and children. I included their birth certificates in my application.

I’m the (Imam) leader in a community mosque and also the youth leader in an organization. I mentioned all these in my SOP. Besides, I have a property in Lagos and one other property owned by my mum.

For employment, I’m presently working in a private organization and I have a school in Lagos. I included the CAC certificate as evidence and all other documents such as; tax clearance certificates, land use charges, etc. for all the properties mentioned.

Thank you so much.

Hello, pls my younger brother get his refusal few month ago..in the process of reapplying biometric fee keep showing.... What is the solution....your suggestion is highly welcome. Thanks

since this is not his first application, then you need to upload the slip given to him when he did his biometrics. I guess that should help solve it.

It is a good sign especially if the up front medical has changed to pass.

To be honest you had everything covered. This is just one of the mysteries of the immigration system

Do you mean WAEC in place of IELTS for evidence of English test?

All the colleges I've searched for online clearly state IELTS, TOELF etc. as compulsory requirements.

I even got a mail from the student recruiter stating the below:-
IELTS is an official requirement and we cant issue a letter of acceptance without it as per our commitment with the government. I will be able to comment on your admission when I will receive the scanned copy of all the above-mentioned documents. let me know if you have any questions.
Looking forward

Please assist with a way forward.
Which school is that?
Generally, IELTS is for students coming from non-english speaking countries. Some county are exempted from providing IELTS score and Nigeria is among those countries. You can get a letter from your previous school (secondary or university) stating the language of instruction during your time with them was English language. That will suffice

JustMellow, Frankrobbn1 sirs, please I have sent you an email, please I want your help reviewing my Sop I have been refused, I have already started my deferral processes. Now I want to know how to improve.
Reasons for refusal were purpose of visit, employment situation, country ties.
Please help.

Hello WeirdKidinClass,

Its sad to hear about the outcome of your application. It is a good move to know you're working on the deferrer process of your admission.

This refusal reasons has been answered here recently, you can go some pages backward. In regards to your SOP, i won't be free to help vet it. Please, do understand.

Good day all,

I got a letter of admission from known University in Canada without the list of courses attached to it.

Can i get approved without the list of those courses if i apply for the visa with it ?

Should I still go ahead or I must get the list of the courses compulsorily before apply for visa ?

Your response will be very helpful.

Hello Efficiency123,

Go ahead and apply with the admission letter given to you. Usually, most schools only permits prospective students to register for courses prior to resumption or if visa has been granted. However, you can check the list of courses to be offered from your school's (department) website.

Good luck!

Hello guys,

Please when emailing a potential supervisor who's either an assistant professor or associate professor, should I start with "Dear Dr." Or "Dear Professor"?

Thanks

I think its needless uploading the slip. He should recheck the eligibility questions, where he was asked " if he has done a biometrics in the past 10 years"

Check their program requirements. But you probably won't need to write it because they usually waive it for Nigerians

Hello AlFath,

The first step of action towards your reapplication is to defer your admission to the next possible intake. It would have be advisable to request for your gcms notes, but there won't be need as all the notes are coming generic.

Before reapplying, try to repackage your application, you might also try to improve more on your study plan and endeavour to address the VO's concerns. If possible, back it up with substabtial evidence.

Its also advisable to work on your (re-)application like a fresh one. You might want to contact some members of this forum that has requested for their notes (if you know any), so you can get an insight of how to address the concerns of the VO.

Good luck!

Good morning,

Happy Sunday!

Sorry, I skipped your comment. Thank you for the advice. The school does not have any intake for summer, they only accept students in Fall and Winter. Besides, the letter of acceptance will expire by August 2020.

Do you think I can address these issues i.e family ties and the employment situation in my sop and attach more evidences and reapply as soon as possible.?

However, if I can get somebody that had requested for his note, having checked that. Do you think I can treat the issues the same way they have addressed it.

How long does it take to get the notes?

I really appreciate your concern. Thank you so much.

Either is good. But if in the department's page a title is placed, go with it otherwise, Dr. or Prof. will suffice.

Hello AlFath,

No worries. However, if am to give you a personal advise, I will advise you to enquire or write to the school to plead for a new admission letter to be issued prior to the expiry of the current (though you might be asked to pay a new application fee).

More so, given the recent trend of refusals, its also advised not to be in hurry to put in another application, if possible wait till next year (though the choice is yours, this is just an opinion).

Normally, refusal reasons can be addressed and an application improved for a reapplication. You can use the SOP/LOE to address the concerns and yes, you can include substantial evidence to back any stated assertions but any stated previous info should be unchanged.

Given the generic reasons, it has also resulted to a copy and paste in the notes by the VOs. If you can lay your hands on one or recent one, you would have a better idea to address these reasons. However, in brief summary, try to tack the refusal reasons from these persperctive but not limited to it.

1. Try to address the importance of the intended course and the opportunities available in your country of residence - Purpose of Visit.

2. The economic benefits of your intendes course as well as your economic establishments in your home country, then you can talk and show proof of your socio-cultural establishment too - Current Employment Situation and Home Ties.

BTW the notes could take up to 30 days to 45 days or more (if there is an unprecendented delay)

Good luck!

Hi people,

So I emailed McMaster University in respect to waiver of English proficiency Tests, now my question is how can I go about the second part "Please just upload a note that says the official language in Nigeria is English" Like which Ministry or channel can I go through to get such a note.

Approach the university/professor where you had your undergraduate studies and request for an English Proficiency Waiver letter.

You're from an English speaking country, Nigeria and during your undegraduate studies all lectures/instructions were carried out in English language. Hence, you don't require an English proficiency test prior to your enrollment into any program in Canada.
