Hello, pls my younger brother get his refusal few month ago..in the process of reapplying biometric fee keep showing.... What is the solution....your suggestion is highly welcome. Thanks

Your younger brother should answer correctly that he has submitted his fingerprints within the last 10 years. By so doing, he wouldn't have to pay for a biometrics fee of 85$ again.

Check their program requirements. But you probably won't need to write it because they usually waive it for Nigerians

You're from an English speaking country, Nigeria and during your undegraduate studies all lectures/instructions were carried out in English language. Hence, you don't require an English proficiency test prior to your enrollment into any program in Canada.

Speaking from my personal experience. My candid advice is to get a letter from the academic office of your university stating that your primary language of instruction is English language. Just meet the guys in the academic office of your institution, they know what to do, they will ask for the name of the school and draft the letter. Cheers. I hope this helps

Hello House, I had to join Nairaland cuz my Student Permit application was refused just this Friday and the Concordia University is supposed to resume January 6.It only took 3weeks fir them to review my application.

I submitted all the documents I know that could boost my chances.

I wrote GRE with 318 score
I submitter my NECO cert
BSC cert, and Transcript
NYSC cert
SOP
Sponsorship letter, board resolution to sponsor, bank sole signatory letter, Bank statement of the sponsor with the total running of over 500M with the balance of about 7M with mine about 2M, CAC.

My one acre land property papers as my ties to my country
Employment letter from Igbinedion Uni where I work as a graduate assistant (full time) where I work as Business Strategic Adviser (Part time) and as well appointment letter from my uncle's company who is sponsoring me as well as leave of absence from both employers

In my SOP, I included My half brother who is a Professor, former Director Islamic Foundation, 189 Rhodes Avenue Toronto, Ontario, Canada and one of the Who is Who in Nigeria 3rd Edition. He went to Toronto Uni for his BSC, MSC, and Ph.D. and had scholarship throughout his study as a special student at the uni at that point but he's back in Nigeria now but has a divorced wife in Canada who has two grown-ups for him. I it included to boost my chances that despite his achievements in Canada he came back home in Nigeria. I really do not know maybe they was why I was refused and all that.

Gurus in the house, what can I do now? Should I reapply back immediately and if yes, what should I include?

Below is the response from CIC

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of

Accept my congratulations in advance on your medical request. Since you're unable to contact IOM panel physician via the shortlisted numbers on IRCC official website. You can reach out to Anazor Chinyere, via this email - canazor@iom.int She is an attendant and responsible for upfront medical exam appointment bookings.

It shall end in praises.

Did you submit your sponsor’s personal or company’s bank account?

Writing about how your half brother returned to Nigeria after studies despite his achievements, does not in anyway help your application (my opinion). The application is about you.

Also, please focus on your uncle’s sponsorship letter and your LOE. Why is your uncle spending such huge amount on you? He needs to give a very good reason in his letter. You are a part time employee and he wants to commit such huge funds on you, why?

If you submitted uncles company’s account, why is his company sponsoring you and not your current employer where you work full time (Igbenedion Univeristy)?

You mentioned board resolution to sponsor, why did the board approve to sponsor you? Of what benefit is your studies to his company if you are just a part time employee? If you are that important to the company for them to spend such huge amount on you, then you will be working there full time or don’t you think so?

The VO needs answers. The balance in the SOA becomes irrelevant if these questions are not answered.

The moment you can answer all these questions convincingly, you will get your visa.

Also is there career progression? Is your current program related to your previous program of study?

I am in the bus and these are the questions I can think of.

The major issues are students come to Canada and start working without going to school, over work their hours even while in school, seek asylum, drop out from school due to financial pressure and so forth.

All the VO wants is to be sure you are a genuine student and you have the resources (sponsor or not) to see yourself through school. A company spending over $10,000 on a part time employee does not sound convincing.

Please hope I am not too harsh on you? I am just trying to make you think like the VO and then you can refire and draft a convincing letter. God bless you.

@Nairaforeigner, thanks for the frank analysis. Yes, I submitted my sponsor's personal and company accounts. Board resolution had to agree to sponsor me cuz the business is a family business from my maternal side. The reason my uncle is the one sponsoring me is that after my dad passed when I was 5years, Prof which is the firstborn agree to sponsor the first two kids from each wife cuz dad left wives and kids behind. As such, it was unfortunate that my brother and sister who are firstborn and secondborn from my mother's side took the slot, ever since then My uncle has been sponsoring me through my academic career right from High School to Uni. And upon the completion of my NYSC @ Igbinedion University, I was retained as a Graduate assistant and that why was I couldn't take a full-time job at Uncle's Company.

My B.SC was Political Science and I think it is in line with Business Administration being a Social Science course.

Please shed more on how I can express that in a more convincing way in my LOE

Good day fellas, please an honest response would be appreciated. I want to make the bold step of moving to Canada through the student visa. Not knowing how this works and also due to my busy schedule, I decided to make use of an agency. I am cool with all the requirements but the visa application fee of
#550,000 is what I am not cool with because I saw it to be 150 Canadian dollars from my findings.

Below are some information extracted from the requirements sent to me :

"Consultation fee: 50,000
Note: If we are to do the processing for you, Consultation fee doesn’t apply.
Admission processing fee for / MSC/PGD: 200,000
Admission processing fee for BSC 250,000
Tuition fee: 8000-18000CAD these applies to BSc, MSc, PhD, Etc.

Visa application fee 550,000

First instalment: 450,0000

Second instalment: 100,000

The Admission application process is for a stipulated period of 6-8 BSC (weeks) (MSC 8-12 weeks)

The Visa Application Documentation is for a period of 2-4 weeks.

However we would appreciate if we could schedule an appointment with you at our office or call our line in order for us to have a broader discussion."

I strongly advice that you do the applications yourself by leveraging on the information gathered here. There is no guarantee even with the use of an agent. You will only regret. Take charge of your application.
My humble advise. I wish you all the best going forward.
