Thank you! Guru’s in the house, anyone ?

Oga don't risk it. To avoid story that touches the heart. Y not schedule your biometrics till after your trip. Maybe you can start the processing now. Other gurus might opine sha.
quote author=Twostep post=84006747]Quick one guys, is it advisable for someone that has an int trip on the 20th of December that would require having passport in hand to put in application for a UK visa on Monday and do biometrics next week?

I’m asking regarding the duration of getting the passport back considering the planned December trip requires the passport and cannot be canceled.

Thanks

Hello guys. In October, was refused a visit visa. But I was not satisfied by the decision as I felt I had a strong application and that the officer did not coheck all 50 documents I provided. I planned to reapply this month.

Although I had no rights of appeal, i did send them a complaint detailing how I believe my application was not properly checked.
At first, they replied to me that they were not the correct channel for complaints.
I didn't have their time since and about 15 days later, which is today, I mailed them again demanding for an explanation / review of the presiding officer's judgement on my visa.

7 hours later, they mailed me that ''my visa decision has been overturned and that I should submit my passport for the new decision ''Please note that your visa decision has been overturned.

Please submit your passport to the Visa Application Centre with a copy of this e-mail.

Once we have confirmation that the passports have been received, we will send out a new decision to be endorsed on your passport.''

Has anyone ever experienced an overturn of refusal decision? Does that mean my visa will now be granted?

I am going to submit my passport tomorrow to them.
Thanks

Everyone refused a visa will now be sending emails for a review until the "blow" this opportunity for other people who actually need a review. smh

I understand you but would you prefer there was no avenue for complaint?
Not all refused visas actually do not have merit.
The ECOs are humans and I lowkey feel their job is to deny not grant visas from Nigeria.
When I posted my refusal decision, "gurus" on here (no offence) were asking me to not complain but wait a while till my circumstances change. Nothing needed to possibly change as I had good standings based on their rules. I am pretty certain there would have been a lot of people refused under similar circumstances to mine. Complaint is not an issue especially since it is a paid service.
To avoid everyone complaining, it's best they sit up and do their work to the letter.
I had an Australia visit visa refused in May, I couldn't complain because they refused based on facts. This UK refusal was based on laziness on the part of the ECO. I attached 50 supporting documents and could tell she probably checked two or three. Hence, I had grounds to complain. Who knows if he/she has refused thousands of other people by not checking their application thoroughly? They are not gods abeg. Even if everyone starts to complain, it's as simple as them taking a look and seeing if the complaints had merit. If not, they will probably uphold it.

I completely understand your point. I had the same issue when i applied for my ILR couple of years ago. Even though i went in for a premium same day service at the HO in Croydon, paid £3000 - the guy refused to grant my ILR because i didn't include a document. (document i used for other permits and was not even required) I took notes of all our conversations, his name and staff number, his manager's name and made a complaint. I got an apology letter for the stress and had my ILR issued.

On the other hand, the workload on these guys are too much. Most applications from Africa are handled by High school leavers especially tourist visas. They have a threshold they can't go beyond.

Hello @skrskr, congrats. Please did you state in your application that you were denied australia visa in your recent UK visa since they can access the info from their database?

My junior brother 6-month UK visa just expired. He got the visa in May this year and he used it once that same month. He was in UK for 5 night in May for vacation.

I don't want to mislead him because he asked me if he can apply for renewal now.

His next vacation is in March next year and he will like to travel to visit UK again.

He wants to know if he can apply for renewal now or not (6-month / 2-year)
Gurus in the house I need your advice

He can apply when he wants to travel......I believe he can even apply for a 2-year C-Visit visa if he is still qualified by then

He can apply now
In his new application he should reestablish all his ties. Then for duration.. he can give 2 years a shot or still do the 6 months. Just make sure all home and financial ties are in place.

Hello Everyone.
I submitted my Application on Octover 23rd and did my Biometric Capture on October 24th . Got an email same day that my passport has been dispatched to the DMC.

It is 15 working days today and 3weeks since I captured and I am yet to here from them.

Anyone in my shoes that captured same or around the same time.
P.S mine is the standard and not priority application.

Yes he can apply if he has a genuine reason to visit again. He has demonstrated that he will return home. nevertheless, his situation will still be assessed.

Guys, after filling the online application, asides the standard visa fee payment (40k +) , is there any other fee as such as TLS fee for Uk visit visa.

Trust me, you guys are doing a very great job here. You guys wont know it until you meet of those who have benefited from your ideas. Surely, you will have millions of hugs to go home with
You remember me? let me remind you . I came on Nairaland to look for a way to right the wrongs i made during my previous UK application ( Using names not mine and things). Shortly after i made that post, i decided to flex my muscles a bit.
Gbam! i applied for a schengen visa, gbos! i was refused (my spines almost left body).
Gbam again! i quicky reapplied,Gbos again! i was refused( i started getting dehydrated during sleep).
Damn,I have 4 expired schengen visas and Two US visas what could be happening? I found my way back to Nairaland france visa section but the section is not very detailed like the UK section. I came back here and started reading.
After reading for days ,i compared my previous applications to my recent applications and guess what i found out. The hotel i have been using in my recent applications for a 6 days vacation is about 1,500$ whilst the hotel i used in my previous application costs just 350$. I smiled and said God bless the UK visa section.
Gbam! I reapplied last week Monday, reduced my hotel cost, used turkish airline reservation ( it does not reflect amount to be paid) and i got my visa yesterday.
U guys saved my face o.
Meanwhile oga @justwise and madam @giselle237 abeg make una still reason my matter,i dont want to completely miss out on visiting the UK.

Please who has flown Royal Air Maroc to London? Have been reading so many negative review about them but they seem reasonably priced for my planned dates.

NB: I've only flown KLM and Air France to London

Please which one is better between KLM and Air France ?

Flown RAM to Morocco. They just OK as the aircraft from Lagos to Morocco was oldie.
