Bridge international academies brought into Nigeria by American philanthropists to help offer cheap and quality education yet they pay18k salary with fake pension scheme and u work from 7:10 to 5:20pm. As a teacher u r not allowed to take extra lessons, nor collect gifts from parents. When my academy protested against low staff welfare and refused to teach, we were fined, warned and salary deducted. Yet those who run this academies in Nigeria are young ladies who earn crazy salaries who if I see on the street I can't call 'Aunty'... we live in a failed system. I have had crazy experiences but I can't say them all.

Truly, there are many brutal and inhumane employers in this country, our labour laws are very weak and are even transgressed in broad day light, those responsible for ensuring compliance are probably bribed.
However the root of the problem lies in our corrupt leaders... if the right people are in government these things will be very minimal

Also, I tought we're here to share ideas and proffer solutions, rather some are abusing and mounting insults on each other.

We are the second root cause of some of these bitter issues we are facing, if you act this way now, how will you treat employees if you eventually become an employer someday.

I worked there for 2 years and it's an experience I won't forget in a hurry.
Dangote brought in Indians that slaves Nigerians in our own country.
No matter how qualified you're, you remains a casual, contract or trainee staff as long as you remains at the company; except, of course you're an Hausa/Fulani.
Despite inhaling cement and clinker dust, no medication and the usual peak milk that was given back in the days.
The staff canteen has been shut down, staff are on their own.
No matter what happens to you, the Indians gives you paracetamol at the clinic.
There was a time I got injured while working, when taken to the clinic, there was no cotton wool to dress my wound.
It's a modern slavery camp.

You work for 12 hours straight..you stand no sitting..any shortage it will be deducted from your salary nobody wants explanations.. I earn 30k per month
I think January was the last time my salary was fully paid at once.
Since then, nah to dey collect 10k after 2 weeks or 3 weeks. Even with this, have not collect 3 months salary.
Also working with a private org.
Infact, trekking is now my hobby

I beg to disagree. Some private schools pay moderately to very well. For instance I was surprise when i learn't that a staff in my children school (secondary) earns above N260K. Other category of staff including teachers are well paid and they are fed at least once a day. This even better than most oil services companies in Lagos and PH.

They recruit almost on monthly basis now so just go to their Ibadan, Ilorin or Abeokuta office to drop your CV.
