When I say host, I mean the brother who is inviting him to the UK.

There have been many refusals if the letter of invitation is vague
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by omopapa: 8:20pm On Dec 01, 2019
It’s not a new application, he has the visa already. If they need any clarifications at point of entry they will ring the host.

Hi everyone.

I have a valid Uk multiple entry visit visa which I used for one week in October and the visa expires in April next year. I want to visit again this December to attend a family member's PhD graduation ceremony and also spend Christmas and new year holiday there. I'll be going with an invitation letter from the graduand and he will also be accommodating me. The total visiting duration would be about 3 weeks + (trying to get a decent fare rate in this rush period).
My worry is if there's any policy on returning visits or if there's a limit to the duration of visit, especially for a second visit.
Do you work or run a business in Nigeria? If yes..what was the reason for your previous visit to the UK?

I have read through the Short Stay Waiver Programme you mentioned and I can confirm categorically that you CANNOT enter Ireland with a UK short stay visa if you are not a citizen of some countries in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Find below extract from http://www.inis.gov.ie/

I have also attached a picture

Short stay visa waiver programme

You may be able to visit Ireland, for less than 90 days, without an Irish visa if you can answer “yes” to each of these questions:
Do you have an eligible UK short stay visa?
and
Does your visit to Ireland end before your permission to stay in UK ends (this is granted by an UK immigration official when you pass through UK immigration)?
and
Was your passport issued by one of the countries listed in the list below?

Eastern Europe

Belarus
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Montenegro
Russian Federation
Serbia
Turkey
Ukraine

Middle East

Bahrain
Kuwait2
Oman2
Qatar2
Saudi Arabia

Asia

India
Kazakhstan
Peoples Republic of China1
Thailand
Uzbekistan
You are right Nigeria is not in the list of countries who can use short stay visa to Ireland

Do you have a full hotel booking for the 15 days? Such that if the hotel is called at the airport they would state categorically that you have a place to stay with them for 15 days... nothing less and nothing more.. it must tally with your return ticket. There’s a most probable chance they will be called.
U can enter through any of the airports.

You can enter through any airport in as much as you have good reason to visit.
Is not a must for you to use the same hotel but must booked accommodation for that 15 days you intend to use before leaving Nigeria.
For example if in your application, you claim to spend your leave there, make sure you have your leave letter with you, if it is conference, just have document to support your claim.

That is possible because you added extra 5 days which you did not budget for in your application, pray long and hard that you don’t get question about it but when renewing your visa you have to explain it.

Booking a hotel and cancel before you land could land you in trouble at the Poe.

I also have a question bothering hotel reservation. I have made a booking for 6 days.I intend to cancel the booking after visa application and get a hotel on arrival.hope this won't affect my visa processes and also hope this won't have a negative effect at POE.

Cancelling your hotel reservation has no implication and i repeat has no implication after getting your visa. Where the issue lies is if you don't have confirmed hotel reservation at the POE.

U can. Just dont forget to convert them to pdf and ensure they are clear as u have already stated

Please make sure your reservation is still valid till you get there (POE) very important. after that, you can decide to cancel

Can you be more specific on what happened during the encounter for others to learn.

My last 2 applications so far, i cancelled my hotel reservation after getting my visas & booked a comfortable & convenient one before embarking on the journey. And this is what people i know do always and they have not gotten into trouble. The border patrol officer is only interested in a valid hotel booking not the one you used while booking.

I do noticed also people advising others to spend exactly the number of days they stated in their application. Spending few more days( 3-5 days extra) will not affect your next application once your return ticket covers the extra days.

That is obviously not true, a budget of 10 days is not the same as a budget of 15days, stating that you are going to stay 10days and given a visa and you went ahead to book a flight a return ticket for 15days is an issue.

Luckily you haven't paid the price yet but many have because its misrepresentation.

If you don't have a confirmed hotel booking by the time you get to POE you are likely to be in the next available fight back to Nigeria.

Why not go to the bank and get an official bank statement or download online from your bank account? Snap shoot of bank account does not make sense. I'm not sure anybody will accept that let alone an embassy.

I totally disagree with this narrative that its a misrepresentation because in every application, you will be asked the number of days used previously which i stated the true number of days. Its when you lie thats when it becomes a misrepresentation.

I applied for 6 months and stated i will spend 5 days which i ended up spending 10 days. I later applied for 2 years which i stated i spent 10 days in my previous visit with dates. I got my 2 years
