Hello Guys,

what are the best route for someone with a Ph.D. in botany/microbiology related field and about 7 years experience lecturing in Nigeria to immigrate to the UK, preferably to continue lecturing?

Hello and happy new year to everyone on the forum. Please help with the below refusal. I was previosly refused in August with the reason that the amount I intend to spend on my trip is more than 2 times my disposable income.
The refusal states I have other lump sum deposit apart from my salary which is clearly not the case.
Also the ECO states that the closing balance is 10X my monthly income. I dont know what this implies.

If the bolded is true, complain about it to the appropriate authority via the appropriate channel and hopefully have your refusal decision overturned. Don't despair.

Did you explain the source of the 10x amount in your cover letter?

Your salary is very ok to sponsor your trip, so dilodavid advice is also a recommended step.

Was your average monthly expenditure same as what was shown in your account statement?

Have you traveled to the Uk before?

Standard should take 15 working days from your the day you took your biometrics, except for public holidays.

So far tls has been poor, they are not meeting their timeline

My average monthly expenditure was shown in my account statement.
The 10X amount he is referring to is my closing balance which was accumulated over the years.

First of all, does she work in Nigeria or what level of educational qualification does she have.

Does she have travel history? Has she been to the UK before

You need to give us more information

Hello @Omopapa,

Thanks for your reply

She has never travelled out of Nigeria and she just passed out from NYSC and yet to start work. I intend for her to come live permanently with me in the UK.

Get married to her and apply for dependant visa or apply for student visa for her then you can live together while she studies and work part time, anything else will be almost if not impossible to achieve

Happy New year my people,
Please I need advice on how to go about my uk application with my maternal grandparents. We want to attend my cousin's wedding in April in the uk. My aunt(the bride's mum) will be sponsoring the trip, for the three of us, so she thinks we should apply together. I work with a MFB and I was just recently promoted, and my monthly income is 159k after tax, pension and HMO. So my question is this, should we all apply together since we have the same sponsor, or I apply on my own? And what are the major things I will be needing
My grandparents have been to UK several times, but now they are old and over 80years so I will be going with them to help them on the way and also attend the wedding. Thank you
Please I will appreciate any advice
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 9:53am On Jan 02, 2020
Even if u apply together, u must pay separate vusa fees and will have separate forms. In ur forms, where the question is asked you should answer that you are traveling with them and state so in each person’s application form.
You should submit every document to show home ties for everybody especially for u... it will be your job or ur family if married.. d
also ur aunt and you + grandparents should submit extensive documents to show proof of relationship between all of u... including chats, emails, pictures..
Write a cover letter and include the part of why u need to accompany them so as to help.. this shud not be all tht wud be in ur letter though
Sponsor’s documents
British passport data page or residence permit
Her statement of account say 6 months
Her proof of accommodation if she will be housing u three.. tenancy agreement, utility bill
Invitation letter carrying exact information of all 3 passengers and why u 3 are coming and what she will be sponsoring explicitly written
Then on ur end submit all evidence like I said of ur home ties to Nigeria including statement of account.
Read up this part 4 thread, other ppl have explained this very well and documents they submitted. The list I wrote isn’t extensive

Good morning guys and compliments of the season.

I just tracked my application and I realized that my application has been "transferred to VAC". Please how long will it take for my application to be "received by VAC"

is there any hope of getting an update from TLS today?

Thank you

Hello, Goodmorning everyone. Please I kindly need your help. Im currently in UK for a Wedding and the bride is my very good friend but a bit sad at the moment. Her Dad and Mum both applied for Visa since Nov but her mum's passport has been held for more than 4 weeks with no reason.

Her wedding is next week and it saddens my heart to see her cry because her mum might not be available.

Please this is for those with genuine answers only. Its a serious matter please.

Anyone knows what we can do to fast track this? We have called severally and they kept on saying within 15days for a while now.

Please kindly help if you know anyone at UKVI or how to go about it.
