Good day everybody. So I have lived with poliomelythis for more than two decades now. I have strived so much to achieve alot for myself because I never allowed my situation deter me from achieving my goals in life.

Everything has been going on smoothly: Education up to MSc level, a job, a car and things a man can acquire and say he has reached a level of comfort.

The one thing I'm yet to get is to be in a stable relationship. 99% of the girls I've dated never took me serious and we never lasted long. Some will even take advantage to chop my money and bail after a while. It got to a point I had a bitter negative stereotype thinking all women are mainly out there to exploit a man.

It wasnt until earlier this year when I met someone who changed the horoscope. Like she is so down to earth and actually loved me for me, without even looking at my paralysis. Things were going smoothly until she started becoming aggressive and emotional over little issues.

It took a while but she was able to open up to let me know how her family vehemently told her they dont want to see her with someone like me. They also threatened to disown her if she insisted on being with me.

Currently, we decided to stop seeing each other for the sake of peace to reign in her family. We do keep communication on a 100. We both love each other genuinely and we do not want us to split just like that.

What do we do?

@OP: So sorry about your predicament, we empathize with you. Please ignore some comments made by stupid people here.

Please try your best possible to warm your way more into the heart of her father, somehow, he may be able to convince his wife but if they don't bulge, please move on with your life, there is a woman for every man and vice versa.

Take solace in the fact that the situation you found yourself was due to no fault of yours and keep your self happy at all times. God will definitely sort you out.

Polio is a children's epidemic or whatever. It affects children under 6 years I think. The government gives its vaccination for free so I think it is almost eradicated.
The legs will be functional from the thighs to the knees but from the knees down will be TOTTALY paralyzed. So, they wear something on the knees that connects the upper and lower legs, so the upper legs will be controlling the lower legs, then they use crutches to move slowly or some use wheel chairs for fastness.

To worsen the situation, the guy is still in secondary school. Now he has be wheeled to school everyday all by himself.
If you're with ur two legs in a good condition... Be grateful to God.being in that condition ain't the real deal but having to be a liability on ur folks

My friend if that girl refuses to marry you please leave her, she is not made for you, that is the simple truth. Not because of your disability, there are people more disabled than you and they are married. There is a guy who is totally paralyzed both hands and legs, yet he saw a girl to marry. You are far better than most people that are not disabled. Your brain is sound, that is what makes a man, not two hands and two legs that cannot achieve anything. You will surely get your own damsel, keep on praying and she will show up. People that are not disabled have similar problems .

There is someone for everyone.I was in this eatery, and lo this guy came in crawling on all four.He crawled onto a sit and closely following him behind was a pretty lady with two kids a handsome boy and a beautiful girl.They were a family.That was his wife.When you see him sitting you won't know he craws on all four.It changed my perspective of life.
