All year?

Canada is a temperate country.

Let's use America to understand the Canadian weather.

In America, the bottomest parts of the country such as Florida and Texas are hot and tropical or even Sahelian.

The higher you climb on the map of America, the colder it gets until you get to places like Minnesota and Washington states that share borders with Canada. These are the coldest states on mainland America. Now Canada is above America!

The coldest parts of Canada are the topmost bits. The weather there is basically arctic.

at least from all indications 90% of e'm are nice. But only 1% are nice in Nigeria
Are you a part of these 1%? Do you treat your neighbors and co-workers nicely?

my lecturer shared a similar experience. They just moved to Canada and Needed to get a washing machine urgently, they found one that the price was really higher than their budget but felt they could beat it down. They Approached the young couple selling it and after bargaining, they paid and went to look for a truck to bring it Home. When they got Home, the wife opened the washing machine and saw an envelope with more than thrice the money they paid, there was a small Note there that read "we love your family and hope you settle in Soon, please do reach out if you need any assistance.". That was really touching. This happened over 10 years ago.

Wow shocked shocked shocked

Hmmm. The workforce .. one needs to master the politics. If not, the intimidation, bullying, backstabbing, throwing others under the bus, subtle racism etc can be very overwhelming. However, I have mastered the art.

They are also not all nice outside the corporate world. I have had a few not so pleasant experience inside trains, car parks, inside aeroplanes etc. The fake smiles can be deceiving, so I always have my guards on just in case grin.

Overall, Canada is a pleasant country to live in.

would love to read your book on "Mastering the Art of Survival in Corporate Canada"

Maybe because of your negativity.

Most folks hate people with bad energy.

You know those people who wanna talk about the negatives only while ignoring the positive side.

Also couple with the fact that such negativity is coming from a woman.

Both you Mizwisdom & Timesup234 are like 5 & 6.

I always avoid people like that.

Because they never motivate you but tend to draw you into their territory with negative energy which is bad for human living.

Well said.

nope ! Religion derails from the original purpose of Christianity. Religion is extreme and does not uphold the true meaning of Christianity

I have lived in 3 countries including Canada and travelled to 7 countries around the world. Canadians are not any nicer than the people I have met in other countries. Wherever you go you will meet the good, the bad and ugly.

Nigerians are very nice as well- the ones that are comfortable and made their money legally and even the poor ones satisfied with what they have. It is foreigners that come to our country that have to tell us how friendly we are and how we showed them the African hospitality. Yes, there is a massive poverty and corruption and it makes people desperate. However, Nigeria still has a lot of good people and it is a shame they don't get into positions of authority.

One mistake Africans make when they go to the western world is being to trusting and believing everyone that smiles in your face is friendly. In Nigeria if we don't like you, we will let you know by facial expressions or our actions. It is opposite in the western world, they will smile in your face, backstab you and plot your downfall-they are passive aggressive.

You just have to be smart and know that majority of communation is non-verbal in the western world. It is something every immigrant will eventually learn after getting burned.

In Nigeria if they did pay, they'd ask for a group selfie only to gloat on Facebook starting with:

"So we met this poor struggling family and my hubby paid for their meal, the look of gratitude in their teary eyes made us thank Daddy GO for our blessings, many more to come this 2020 in jeebus name, hallelujah and amen. #RCCG"

I think Blacks are innately insecure and always crave for public validation to compensate for their insecurity. The act of showing off and unnecessary attention seeking is a way of obscuring one’s shortcomings.

Canadians live a very descent lifestyle.

A friend told me how their policemen walks around the land unarmed ready to render one help or the other to either people who lost their way or return lost item to the rightful owner all with lovely smile.
This is not true cheesy. Police are always armed in Canada. It's in some European countries that you would find unarmed policemen.

It was an amazing experience for me and the kids at Pearson airport Toronto in December, when I missed my flight twice to my final destination and needed help with rebooking and getting back my back pack I ignorantly left on a queue.

Was trying to get a shorter way of rebooking and left all my documents in the backpack, plus the kid's backpack too.

This pretty police officer took I and the kids to Lost but found room, recovered my backpack and led us to the phone booth to call the care line for rebooking.

Canadians are compassionate and loving.

Nigerians outside Nigeria should be there for Nigerians.

If each one would care for each one, then the world will be a safer and happier place.

Happy New year all, may all our heart desires become testimonies in Jesus Name.

This though. When a bag pack is left unattended to at any airport, police would be called to ensure the content are not explosive device, drugs, etc., and cctv would be checked to locate the owners to check for foul play. The officer was just doing her job.

Welcome and amen to the prayers.

Canadians are nice but it's not all hunky dory.
The only place I have been robbed in my life is Toronto.
I hang out in cities all over the world including Lagos at night and I have never had a robbery experience except for Toronto.

I'm sure it was those Jamaicans or West Indies people in Canada that robbed you.

That doesn't make them less Canadian.

In addition, that is an hasty generalization or stereotyping. It could have also been a White, Asian or first Nation robber too.
