You went to their office? Which location? I sent them a dm, haven't heard anything.

Go to their office in the state u reside. Write a petition that won't cost u up-to #400 to type and print. Go home and wait for their call to come write ur statement .. Nobody will ask you for any money unless you decide to ginger ur IPO with a little amount. I'm talking from experience. Nigeria police na rubbish

Report the account and have the bank block it with the bvn linked to it. Anyone attempting to access any account linked to that bvn gets arrested and any funds within all those accounts remain frozen.

The only way to recover money from a fraudster is to leave it.

I recovered my 300k within a month and I didn't even know his real name all I had was his face.
In my case I was sympathetic towards a supposed failed transfer and I let the delivery man deliver the goods anyways with the person promising to pay the following day, then he blocked me and absconded with my money, thank God for my tech expertise I began to trace him first from his IP bla bla bla,but after a month I found him in Salem university kogi state patiently waiting for a lecture fortunately for me he was a rich kid just kleptomaniac, I collected my money with an enormous interest.

Very easy.... call your bank —-CALL not go to the bank (they’ll probably be too busy to solve your complicated issue) call and request a reversal ... they might ask you send prove of the claim with screenshot of messages and stuff to an email and it’ll be reversed in a few weeks -2weeks at most ::speaking from experience-although I wasn’t this stupid sorry... I sent money to a stupid Instagram vendor and he bailed ... got my money back

That's not true.
And besides if the guy is allowed to continue, imagine Scamming over 20 people already, that's over 2millionz .

That guy should be stop by any agencies before he/she cause more damage.

Why can't a 60 year old have a banking app? If he's educated to an extent and/or knows how to operate a smartphone, mobile transfer is not exactly rocket science. Besides, he could used USSD code to carry out the transfer
stop the charade guy. it's either the story is totally untrue or u were d victim, not a 60yrs old man.

sir you can help him go to his bank and report the incident to them with details they will block the account and invite him
Nopes! They won't block his account. The bank will tell you that, you were not threatened or forced at gunpoint to do the transfer. So it's was a willing act from you. Bank only block the receiving account if maybe your fone was reported stolen and transactions were made from it.

Be very fast and serious about it. Contact cbn and efcc fraud desks with screenshot and all such evidence of the communication and transaction with the person. If you can, go further by having his phone line tracked and arrested by police on location. Court order is not expensive if needed.

It's literary your internet address, unless you're using a paid powerful VPN your exact location can be found. All I need to do is get your ip address, can get that
by simply using cmd prompts and shit so bla bla bla...

He said he had a picture. Images contain metadata that include location if not removed. While i don't believe the guy it is not impossible.

I'm not here to judge neither am I one to comment on topics frequently on Nairaland but first, sending a screenshot with your account balance to a stranger is a NO! NO!! If this said scammer is not a stranger since he could be traced back to a group, a C.C.C (celestial church of Christ) WhatsApp group for that matter, this is what spiked my interest to comment. C.C.C is not a vague, ambiguous entity and I'm 100% certain it's not C.C.C's headquarters group you're talking about, so my guess is it's one of C.C.C parishes out there. Every parish has their resident shepherd, his assistants and other church workers along with the parochial committee, youth coordinator and many more executives like the church secretary or parochial committee chairman that would be aware and probably be attached or be the admin of such said group. Haven't pointed all that out, someone out of them should be able to identify the person that posted this dubious offer. Except the N146k is peanut to the said 60yrs old man, before wasting your time on a frustrating and disappointing trip to the bank to chase shadows, you should first contact the admin(s) of the group to identify the poster on the group because no one is getting on that group without the admin's consent in the first place. If the admin(s) deny knowledge of such person then the matter get K-leg be that because a stranger doesn't just jump on a Whatsapp group overnight. A Church's WhatsApp group is not a faceless forum like NL that anyone can open multiple account and spam like the fixed matches and porn guys on here.

Enough said, it's very simple just go to the admin(s) I believe that's a good point to start off and if they deny knowing such person ... hmmm casala don burst be that and no be for my mouth you go hear say something is fishing grin grin grin

Oga they will. A young guy's family recently coughed out 450k to bribe his way out of a 150k fraud he committed similar to what op posted. He got arrested at the bank this past Christmas period.

Does he has number to track...i.e phone number he is using for WhatsApp or the one he has been using to reach you.
Take the matter to Lagos State Police Commander TIU SECTION, they will help you track him
FromZeroToHero:
It was on 6th January that one Mr. Nelson shared about a business investment in a C.C.C (celestial church of Christ) WhatsApp group that gives 100% return interest for a period of 24 hours that's if you invest 100k you will get 200k within 24hours. My neighbour, a man in his late 60's fell for it and sent 100k to him. After the transaction, he called Nelson to confirm if he has received the money but he said no, Nelson now told him to forward his debit alert to him to confirm that he has sent it without knowing that he just wanted to see his account balance which was 47k. Nelson now told him to send the remaining 46k that he'll help him to complete it 50k so that the total investment will be 150k which will yield 300k within 24hrs, he obliged and sent the 46k. On seeing the alert, Nelson now told him if he can see anyone that can borrow him 100k so that it will be 250k to get 500k. That was when it dawned on him that its fraud. He said he doesn't know anyone that can borrow him such amount that if he can't work with the 146k that he should send him back his money. Its almost 3days now and he hasn't sent the money. Please how can this money be recovered? Thanks

Go to the nearest police station, informed them and they will take it from there, let them know that you will appreciate them if they can get back your money.

They will go with you to the bank and freeze the account .... .
You may be lucky if the guy doesnt have upper hand.

It sounds easy here, I had a recent case and the police was asking for 70k to track the number. The 70k according to them is if the person is in Lagos if not I would be paying more.

My lawyer says it's difficult and expensive getting a court order too cos the scammer's bank(Access) is saying they will need to get a court order from the court for them to do anything on the account.
Pls it's not that expensive to get a court order.
