The only animal that kill snake for a living is mongoose. Others are scared of snakes but might approach snake if they are hungry e.g eagle

Meerkats do also, though occasionally. They are also in mongoose family and share typical mongoose traits of being naturally immune to venoms of certain snakes. Their blood vessels is built in a way that doesn't facilitate the spread of venom in the blood stream.

By the way, the animal up there is a Galagos, also, known as Bush baby, the big head and extremely large eyes gave it away. Mongooses and Meerkats don't have head that big and large eyes.

The Bush baby is also in the same family with lemurs (restricted only to Madagascar and is believed to have descended from Bush babies), Loris, the Potto or softly softly (Pottos are much slower).

I think its a meer cat

Those are not meerkats.

That is a Galagos (Bush Baby). Meerkats don't have head as large as those in the photos and eyes are very small.

This is coming from a lifelong fan of meerkats.

Presently watching Meerkat Manor Season 3

Have u seen Tarsier?? Kindly, Check and tell me which one is close to the pix the op posted. Specifically the tail.

There seems to be similarities but research do not agree.

Tarsiers are not found in Africa , they are found only in South East Asia and just on islands there

Where were they found? Nigeria? Those look like Philippine tarsier like someone said. Please we could be on to something if they really are. They're threatened species and only grow about 6 inches long.

You may be right cause I am just knowing galagos through you now, but I feel they are meerkat cause someone commented they kill snakes for fun and searching about galagos? I don't see them killing snakes for fun and moreover they looked almost the same though, seems is difficult to differentiate between the two,(meerkat and galagos) with their images. Thanks anyway

What Animal Is This?

My kids caught this little animals when it fell down from a tree when they were playing... They wanted to rear it but they eventually died off 2 days later when they were bathing them grin grin grin (more like drowned them) as I could not kill it..

They look like Mort from Penguins of Madagascar. They're probably a specie of Lemur..Mouse Lemurs

You people will never watch National Geographic Channel láyé! It is African magic that you will all be watching, where they be witch families, then when the thing enters the head, we will see wierd topics on Nairaland Frontpage.
In South Africa now, they have someone they call to catch snakes and release them back into the wild to preserve biodiversity. Here in Nigeria, it ends up in someone's pepper soup pot, much to the delight of one certain Nairaland mod.

It looks like a Mouse lemurs, Mongoose or Galagos. They are known for killing snakes.

Very big head Galagos have and also Mouse lemurs , but Mongoose has no big head.

Pic 1. Galagos

Pic 2. Mouse lemur

Mainly looking on the tail structure, one would go with Mouse lemurs

Because those zoologist you're talking about have been to the remote forest of every village in every state of this country, thus and so every country in the Africa continent?

These animals may exist here, or anywhere apart from where it's reported.

They love animals as pet, get a rabbit and teach them how to take of rabbits

While keeping them as pets is not advised (like many other nonhuman primates, they are considered likely sources of diseases that can cross species barriers ), it is certainly done. Equally, they are highly likely to attract attention from customs officials on importation into many countries.

Mongooses are the ones notorious for killing snakes. Meerkats do too but occasionally. Well, Galagos are frugivores (fruit eaters), eat lives and sometimes, insects.

Pictures 1 and 2 are meerkats. Notice the size of the head and eyes and compare with pictures 3 and 4 which are that of a lesser Galagos.
