I have a bsc in English here in Nigeria but with a low cgpa of 2.8. It seems I can't do masters with this CGPA in Canada. I think I do PGD, which course/university can I go for

Hello bro.. I have issues with this..
Going for a diploma wen u already have a bsc or HND is a step down.. you either go for masters in a university or go for a POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA(PGD) in a college.. if your sponsor will be your boss, fine but you have to explain vividly why he's sponsoring you, I will suggest you seek a family relation as a sponsor b.. Also for your wife and kids how do u tend to take care of them wen u leave..so these are the issues u need to look into. But for the diploma, not certain you will get the visa... Other suggestions can also be offered cos this is my own 2kobo
please will I be given visa if I apply to a vocational school or university foundation. My Ssce grades are not too good. And I don old small.

I need advice from Gurus in this house.
I'm planning to send my wife who studied Biochemistry to Canada for further Masters Program.
Is it possible for her to travel along with my two kids? One is 4yrs while another is 3yrs.
How much would this cost me?
Is it also possible for her to benefit from any scholarship scheme for the Masters Program?
Thanks

1. Age matters***
2. Try a post baccalaureate program
3. A non relative member can sponsor you if you can proof the relationship between you and the sponsor.
Sir. I will be 23 years old in may and I dropped out from uni in 2018(so no first degree). I have a very average ssce result(NECO). Any hope?

I need you all help on the issue of refund from Conestoga.
I requested for submit about 3weeks ago. I did that on my student profile and I mailed them immediately. I was then asked to mail CIBC. CIBC sent me a refund request form to fill, where I filled my details including banking details.
Since then, I've not heard from them and no change on my profile.
Please how am I supposed to go about it?

How did you pay?

Good day guys, I'm really new here. I would like to know if I can convert a Canadian visiting visa to a student visa in Canada. I intend going through conference, I'm currently a student in Germany.

Hello Stephanie94,

It is not possible for you to change your status as a visitor to a student within Canada. Its either you wait till the completion of your program in Germany then apply for another program in Canada or go through EE.

However, it is very possible to change from student to visitor within Canada

All the best.

what's the equivalent of PGD in Canada
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by isangjohnson: 3:52pm On Jan 15, 2020
Better still, should I ask my wife to forget about the our two kids and get her admission first before thinking of coming back to carry them?
I personally do not have any interest in joining them now as I'm fully engaged with my job here in Nigeria.
Please I'll still like to know the estimate of house rent and living expenses including school fees for Masters Program in an average school.

Congratulations on your medical request.
But I am a little confused here on how there was an approved family visit visa without a medical before or has it been more than a year?

Tourist visa doesn't require medicals.

If you said three weeks, that’s not too long ago because Conestoga takes time to refund and it will take more time for it to hit your account. You need to be patient if you have done the right things and supply the right informations.
I hope you filled the account in which you paid the money from in the first place?
Oga Jeff may be of help. Look for his handle here and hear from him too.

Oh... you didn’t say it was a tourist visa, you said family visit visa.
As for the tourists thing I will confirm it and add it to my knowledge.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Girllikeme: 4:16pm On Jan 15, 2020
Hi Obehi44,
So from the post, her family applied for a tourist visa and was approved before this new study permit application, so no need for medicals. However, in case where you submit this application at the same time (study permit plus a visit visa) their might be need to provide medicals for your other family members since they would be staying for more than 6months.

@peacful22, Goodluck in your application and I am positive it will end well!!

For tuition fee and other expenses, I think a simple Google search will do justice to your questions. As tuition fee varies with school and intended course. Visit the schools sites to know how much their tuition fee is and for living expenses she needs at least $10,000/year for herself alone(check CIC site for more details)
Now back to the main issue, if your children wants to go with your wife then you have to provide/show funds for their upkeep (should be around $4000/year if I am not mistaken, but also check CIC site for more accurate info).
I will advise she applies alone for now while she uses you and the kids as very good hometie(a good reason to go back to Nigeria after her studies), then if she still wants them to join her she can apply for them after her visa has been secured.
Good luck

What i'm asking is that, could the medicals be done ,so that once they request for it ,i can present it immediately so as not to waste more time?
mcobex:
If @Obehi44's post was referring to you then don't go for medical yet until you get a feedback from CIC. That said, the fact you go for medical before CIC asked for it has no effect on your app(if it will approved or not), so be patient for now (except if you have some money that is just sitting idle in your account and don't know what to do with it......just kidding).
Be patient for now
