Hello everyone, Please how much is application fee now and NHS fee. I went through the previous pages and I saw information but I just want a very recent fee just to know how much it would cost actually.

Hello spouse visa family,

My wife has successfully gotten her spouse visa approved. Thanks to everyone for their wonderful help!. However, the names are in the wrong order or format.

She has a compound name like Sarah Isaac-Smith. This is on her passport because she did a name change. Isaac is her maiden name. But on the visa vignette, they put it as Smith Isaac Sarah, without the hyphen. The letter that came with the passport was also addressed as Sarah Isaac Smith instead of Sarah Isaac-Smith.

How do we go about changing this, or is there nothing to worry about??

When your wife arrives, send them a letter + copies of documents stating proper format and amendments required......... wink

NB : If you have time to rectify before she travels do, because her travelling ticket too, would have to be in this present format...... (use this extra period to clear all the cockroaches & rats) Madam dey come........ cheesy

You are in a wrong thread, this is not visiting visa thread.

You are arguing about visiting visa but this is spouse visa thread...two different things.

What are the requirements for spouse Visa please.
Do they require any documents from the wife in Nigeria to be send to husband in UK for processing.

Read this thread if you want to learn but if you are asking for the sake of argument then I really got no time to waste.

You can not be in this thread and still ask such questions.

Hi @Sweetwise,
Hi everyone,

I hope we all have been well.
I'm sorry this response is coming very very late but also guess it will benefit the new applicants.
According to https://www.gov.uk/UK-family-visa , the spouse visa fee as I write this is £1523.
According to https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/how-much-pay , IHS fee is £400 per year.
So if you will be applying today, you are hoping to stay in the UK for like 29 - 30 months before renewing your visa, you should be paying £1200.
Then, according to TLScontact ( https://pos.tlscontact.com/los_en/added-value-services ), the fee for Priority visa service (Settlement) is £573.

Please bear in mind that when making any of these payment, you will be seeing the equivalent in US Dollars and your bank will probably charge you for the exchange service during the payment.

Most importantly, visit the application website to reconfirmed all these details as information are always updated in short notice.

I hope this helps someone to get prepared.

Sweetwise:

Congrats to you and your wife. Please what is the actual spouse visa fee, NHS surcharge and how much extra did you pay for priority? I see contrasting things each time i check. Thanks.

Good day my people,

Please I need help with the UK spouse settlement visa.

I completed the application and paid on the 22 January. I booked my biometrics for 3rd of February. My wife and I have all the relevant documents. However, for the letter from her employer, we do not know where they should address it to. The checklist of documents I got after submitting my application suggest that I must provide the letter and some documents at the point of completing my bio metrics. This is a bit confusing.

I am assuming I will just be required to do the biometrics here and submit my passport while my spouse will be required to send all our documents from marriage certificate, mortgage documents, etc in the UK.

Please I really need help on this. @profemebee, @themusketeer, @Lexusgs430, anyone that could assist.

@Kinpelz,

I will like to answer your question but cannot quote you because of the phone number in your post. Once someone quotes your question, your phone number will remain open to all in the internet for life even if you modify the original post.
Can you please remove the phone number as it may simply attract scammers and spammers to you. I think any one with a response to your question will drop it here as always.

However, it's just my opinion and you are not forced to adhere to it.

@Kinpelz,

The letter from her employer can be addressed to "To whom it may concern" as that was what we used in our application.

If you have read through most of the pages (at least the previous 30 pages, which I think you should have done by now), you must have heard frequent contributors and successful applicants telling others to get all the documents ready before submitting the online application.

This is inline with the UKVI requirements that all supporting documents must be dated before the date of the online application submission but shouldn't be more than 28 days old. This includes: Bank statements, Letter from employer, Utility bills, Council tax letter, sponsor's supporting letter and any government issued documents you wish to add to your supporting documents.

In your case, you may scale through but it's better to be on the safe side.

Good luck!

YES, you can apply for a visiting visa..... If granted, you go and join them for a maximum of 5/6 months....... In that period, you cannot legally work, so be prepared to be a sit at home human being, enjoying free food, playing on the Internet + body warmth........

Thanks alot for your response. Thanks for the heads up on the number. All the documents are ready. Just that the letter from her employer which is dated 7 January was addressed to my wife. I guess we just have to use the letter like that. If the rule is that all documents must be ready before submission then we don't have a choice.

Do you want to join as in settlement OR u want to visit?

If u want to join as in settlement, u can apply for fiancé visa, u will be given six months to get marry in the UK within the six months, which then u apply for further leave to remain (FLR) which is spouse visa for a duration of 2.5 years. For you to apply for fiancé visa u need to meet all the requirements like spouse visa. Except u don't pay for NHS. More so I can not work on a fiancé visa.

If it is for visit u want, apply for visiting visa to visit for 5months and return bk to home country

exactly what I Was inquiring 'to join them as in settlement'.

Now that we are on the same page, I would like to ask some more questions if you dont mind;

1. on the issue of work, would the foreign fiancee be able to work once they get married/convert to the spouse visa? would this process cost any additional money?

2. How long does this initial fiancee visa take and what is the estimated success rate all things being equal?

3. What are the major requirements(docs) from both foreign fiancee and uk citizen?

4. in the event that marriage dont occur within six months, can the fiancee convert to other class of visa say study visa or something?
