Had it been the ban came from Obama, they will be claiming that it is because they rejected GAY IMPOSITION... A president that will not follow court orders, where book haram members are released on the notion that they have been rehabilitated, where Christians are killed without the repercussion... At least umu efi now know that they are messing up

This is a Nation that does not joke or play politics with it's National security. Buhari went to Egypt and announced everybody is welcomed to Nigeria.
This is a red flag especially as there won't be proper documentation of these migrants, and getting Nigerian international passport is like buying pure water, so terrorists can easily gain entry into the USA via Nigeria.

Also considering the government's ineptude, incompetent, insincere and complacent mode of handling security issues, especially the treating of terrorists to buffet and releasing them to continue unleashing terror, so tactically and technically, Nigeria may be serving as a breeding ground for terrorists, to be sent to America.

American President is not a DULLARD like Nigerian president.

I've never seen a worse DULLARDINO of a president than Trump. He talks and acts before thinking. He's equally repulsive.

And again, all of you, the living hate are just coming up with one reason or the other on why USA made the announcement.

This is nothing but a "back door" ban on US citizenship/naturalization for Nigerians! Possibly the only way they could use to legalize this discriminatory order, hiding under the guise of homeland security. This is an outright ban on IR1/CR1 and also K visa category for Nigerians. This has little to nothing to do with security but rather an agenda to keep black people out of the USA. It's a shame they are hanging this on our "useful idiots" leadership and their inability to digitized arrests records and court judgments!

YOU SOUND LIKE SOMEBODY FROM THE STONE AGE WHO IS SO PRIMITIVE IN HIS REASONING. America just finished a trade war with China that lasted almost 1year before China eventually succumbed and agreed to negotiate with Trump. They finally signed the revised trade deal that Trump had been demanding for only a few weeks ago.

If the US can impose tariffs and trade restrictions on China for 1year and the US economy kept growing while China's economy continued to decline all through that period, then who is Nigeria to affect the US economy In case you don't know, the US economy is worth over $21Trillion. How much is Nigeria's economy worth?? Is the entire budget for 2019 not less than N12trillion which is not up to $34billion Try and educate yourself so you wont be writing this kind of comment you just made

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

UNITED STATES SUSPENSION OF THE ISSUANCE OF IMMIGRANT VISAS TO NIGERIANS

On 31st January 2020, the United States (U.S) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced temporary travel restrictions on six (6) countries including Nigeria.

For Nigeria, the restriction is the suspension of the issuance of “immigrant visas” to Nigerian passport holders only. This suspension shall come into effect on 21st February 2020. The suspension does not apply to other U.S visas such as those for official, business, tourism and student travel.

The DHS states the suspension of “immigrant visas” became necessary following a review and update of the methodology (performance metrics) adopted by the U.S Government to assess compliance of certain security criteria by foreign governments. This resulted in certain enhancements on how information is shared between Nigeria and the U.S.

Nigeria remains committed to maintaining productive relations with the United States and its international allies especially on matters of global security. Accordingly, President Muhammadu Buhari has established a committee, to be chaired by the Hon. Minister of Interior, to study and address the updated U.S. requirements. The committee will work with the U.S Government, INTERPOL and other stakeholders to ensure all updates are properly implemented.

please i don't understand the federal failure presidency which one issad [b]the restriction is the suspension of the issuance of “immigrant visas” to Nigerian passport holders only? is there two type of Nigeria passport. then the Visa will be issue to Nigerian passport holder plus for official, business, tourism and student travel. I started travel since 1994, a country don't have two type of passport, what country have is category of passport. when there is ban for holders of particular passport is for every body else they would have exclude the category that will be given Visa. this presidency think that Nigerians live the way they suppress ours. they can tell that to Daura people.

Finance Minister - Terrorist (God created Fulani to value cows more than Humans) etc.
Why will they not Ban us?

Our country is practically grounded. The problem of Insecurity we are lamenting about is replicated and even worse in other sectors of our economy. If our US & Chinese embassy website still has GEJ as President then you should know that our country has stopped working since May 29 2015.

RUBBISH...

Only if you dont take time to read and understand d restriction properly. It is just restrictions on some kinda visa policy...visa types are alot and can pass easily like X student visa e.t.c but u know what?! a true saying goes *if you want to hide something from a typical African, put it in a book*...Africans don't like to read

Media just hyping this shit.

If only you knew that ALL other visa types have already reduced drastically. The only thing they could not touch without a law/EO is immigrant visas cos you can sue in the US courts for reprieve.

So it's now ALL kinds of visas that are facing uphill battles
