pls someone should answer this question, i have also drafted out a letter with my companys letterhead because i couldnt ask them directly due to the fact that i cant reveal my plans to them. so if they call to confirm i might be in hot water
hello if you draft out a letter with your companies letter head, your HR or Team head has to sign. So if they happen to investigate it will probably get you into trouble.

Quick question.
Submitted my application about a month ago.
Someone in canada helped with it actually. He is family, cousin. He has a PR, and it showed in the application that ill be staying with him and all that. My dad is the sponsor with a strong account and properties docs which we submitted and all other important stuff.
Yesterday, they requested for my cousin's account statement.
Is this good or bad news? Isnt my dad's enough?
Should that be scary?
I think it’s a good thing and you don’t need to be scared.
For CIC to even contact you alone about a document, it means your app is in good form.
I hope that your cousin is working and receives money via his bank account. The amount in his account as balance won’t really matter I guess, maybe they just want to be sure if he is working and will be able to take care of you since your application is saying you will be staying with him.
This are my personal thoughts though.
This is also an eye opener for me and I draw positives from it.

Sincerely it’s good to do the right thing. But we know that such “right thing” may put one in big trouble especially or in case visa fails.
Two ways this can be done.
1. Meet with that person who will sign it and that person they may call. Privately ask them to keep it private that you just want to try and they should be aware just in case they call.

2. Do it yourself. I will tell you more privately if you want

They sent a mail to mine to confirm...there’s no big deal in letting them know. Everyone application is different. They might not in some cases.

you are right, please can do you have format for writing the departments. i just pm u.

ayoadefantastic:
I am guessing you mean the department is recommending you to the college of graduate and post doctoral studies or what do you mean by recommendation of admission. In any case, you can write faculty members in the department whose research interest align with yours to inquire whether they are willing to take a student. Or on the alternative ask if they will he willing to recommend you for international student scholarship and other merit scholarships like this.

Meanwhile, how far with applications? We are not seeing updates of visa applicants. Too much of admission stuff.
Please let’s know your timeline
When did you apply?
Which school?
Which program? Phd, Pgd, masters or undergraduate?
Online or paper?
Have you done medical? Upfront or call up?
Share your story or worry even if it’s still on or refused or approved.
Let’s learn

Regardless of the age of the child you need to provide documents showing your plans for your child in Canada which is usually daycare documents. And also specified funds for any accompanying family members.

Regarding if they'll give you the visa? There isn't any 100% guarantees with immigration. You must have to put your documents together and see how it all turns out. The only thing I am not sure off is travelling with a 5month old baby.

First year of the course is course work while the second yrs is paid practicum. I would like to know if anyone has ever done the GIS program with SAIT. Plz how easy is it to get a place for the practicum and what is the job prospect after graduation. Thanks

Hello Good Evening!

I applied for my Canada study permit August last year and I got a refusal on the 1st of October last year. Reason for denial being family ties so I ordered my GCMS notes and the reason was my plan of study appeared vague and poorly documented.

I am planning on reapplying for my study permit and would need assistance on how I can make my application airtight and more convincing. Thank you and God bless.

Hello Imno1one,

I don't think anyone would be able to supply you with a certain answer to your question on your chances of approval or refusal. You should consider using either a sponsor or cosponsor. If the school says they can't waive the English Language Proficiency Test for you without writing IELTS, then search for other schools that do.

Just package your application to the best of your knowledge and available documents at your disposal, and then prayer to what you believe and be hopeful.

All the best.
Thanks.

Hello,
1. Whoever has more funds should be the primary sponsor. Ensure to provide enough proof of ties between you and the person who wishes to sponsor you. Better still, transfer the funds to a dom account.
2. Find out from the school if they can accept an official letter from your university registrar, stating that you were taught with English as your first language. If they don't accept that then prepare for IELTS. IELTS is not difficult if you properly prepare for it.
Imno1one:
Hello everyone. I am a regular Nairalander but this is my first time on this thread.

I have a Second class lower(3.3 CGPA) in Mass Communication. I am planning to pursue an Advance Diploma course in Canada. With what I have read on here, I used google and found "The Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology", they offer a course which I am interested in, the tuition fee on the site is approximately $14k.

Now here is my trouble. I only have 5m Naira in my personal account. I have no family sponsor, I believe I should be able to get a sponsor(an acquaintance with no family tie) with about 10m in his or her account. What is my chance of getting a visa?

Secondly, on the site, it is stated that IELTS is needed for the course(this is against what I read that IELTS is not needed for any post graduate program), this got me confused because I know people's hurdle with IELTS

Also, I am planning to stay over there in Canada. Could there be an opportunity for me to stay and start a life over there?

I will appreciate your responses.
