I applied for Standard UK visitor visa online using self-service for upload of documents. My biometrics was on February 5th, 2020 at Ikeja. I got a message today February 12, 2020 from TLS that my passport is ready. Is that a good sign or a bad sign? I wasn't expecting it so soonx.
No isssue at all..I submitted my own application in Victoria island January 28th..and after 8 working days I was told my passport was ready ..ofwhich I did a courier for it..my passport came and visa was granted ..

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by bigtt76(f): 7:36am On Feb 14, 2020
Did you explain the whereabouts of the large deposit made into the account?

Did the bank statement you attached had entries to the N500k you earn monthly?

Did the large deposit form 90% of your account balance?

Hi Nairalanders,

I have read a few posts here regarding some refusals because of the large amount of money deposited into their account. As for me, I’m self-employed, I’m into real estate, my business is registered (business name tho). At least I make 800k-900k per month, I use my personal savings account for business transactions.
I would like to ask do I maintain the monthly payment of 800k-900k in my account or if I have a larger sum/transactions they shouldn’t go to my personal account to avoid been queried and denied.

Thanks

From your write up, you said that you worked consistently for 3 years and you have only 300k as opening credit (this is actually a red flag because it signified that your disposal is not actually how you portrayed it. Even, had you made some investments you should have provided proof as evidence as part of list of submitted docs), then you saved up your disposal income for 6 months to get the closing credit of 1,200,000 Naira.

My point is that no body knows what the ECO are actually considering, especially for those that are asking for documents submitted. My advise is ensure your financial capability is tight and reflects clearly on your submitted bank statement and also do your homework well.

Many congrats!!

I do not think it’s a red flag per say. What if he didn’t want a holiday before hence he wasn’t saving up... now he wants to take a holiday he has decided on the United Kingdom. He wants to save up for it bcus working has been stressful for the last 3 yrs... I have seen an opening balance of 1k with closing balance of 1.8m after 6 months get the visa... salary was 320k, disposable income 300k.. I sort of think they are more comfortable with ‘good’ salaried accounts as against self employed ppl with credits all over the place and not separating business from personal funds.
Even if you were an ECO and u see some people’s statement of account that they use for uk visa app, u will know that the person is lying... so so huge credits everywhere.. trying to give a false impression
If u truly don’t have energy to explain, stay clear of unecessary money lodgements for that 6 months.. u will hear stories like my friend was repaying loan I gave him, my this dashed me money, my rent money, my invoice, my receipt.. all just before u applied for visa. Why were u not dashed this money since? If u were an ECO this is how u would think.

Most people have minimum of 2 bank accounts, for that 6 months period avoid any funny deposit in the account u want to submit, give ur friends and family the 2nd account number... I don’t understand why this is hard.

Thank you for the input. I made it clear to the ECO in the cover letter that I just recently got engaged which involved spending quite a lot of money as traditional customs demand in Nigeria, I attached the pictures. I also made it clear that I have other bank accounts which I run for personal stuffs like petty businesses. Like you rightly said, it's the ECO that knows what he's looking for. I feel one just needs to be honest in what you try to sell to them. They can almost always decipher whether you are lying or not.

Please separate your business from your salary/personal funds.
Business funds for business.
Salary or fixed monthly payment and personal funds for you. This is to avoid unnecessary explanation, confusion, pain to the ECO’s eyes and impending denial.

You would need to confirm where the funds are coming from. If you claim paid employment, you need to back it up. If you claim business, you have to back that up to show how those funds are available for your vacation without impacting your business negatively.

Best bet ...open a business account and use solely for your business, pay yourself a fixed amount monthly from your business account, run it for like 6 months and attempt applying.

Hello everyone, before final submission would like to have your contribution...My friend wants to invite his parent during Easter period and He is married to a white lady and are both British Citizen.

His parent applied last year but were both refused becos an Agent of destruction did not fill the application forms correctly.

His father is Old, above 76yrs and Mother 69yrs, They both went to Hajj last year and mother visited the United states like 2 years ago to visit her first Son.

Father aint working anymore, He has just 300k in his savings account (allowee from his children) but Mother is a major distributor to dangote Cement COY. so she has over 2m in her savings account with which i advised her to pay herself a sum of 200k every month. They both have assets in their names.

First Question is

1. Can my friend's mother SPONSOR the trip with her statement of account? OR

2 . Should my friend and his wife claim to fully Sponsor them? My friend has about 5k pounds and the wife has about 12k pounds in the accounts respectively.

Justwise, giselle and other gurus ...kindly advise pls .

All visitor visas I think have been grouped into Standard visitor visa.. furthermore more in your application form you can then state your reasons to be to take an exam. The umbrella is however ‘Standard Visitor Visa’

Am really worried,I did my biometric on the 15th January 2020 and received the processing e.mail on the 16th.It's a month now and I haven't heard anything from the them,my intended travel date is 29th February.I don't know why its taken so long like this. Its a visit visa,I want to attend my sister's convocation ceremony at the University of London.
If you stay near the Visa Application Centre, I advise you to go and check. Sometimes those guys delay a lot.

But if you live far that you will need to travel, then wait till you receive collection email.
