Special greetings to the house. I stumbled on this thread this morning, haven read from page 1 to 10 and I can honestly conclude that we still have people of great mind in this country. Special regards to sam8850, justwise, temidayoolu etc.

I have long waited for this thread as the other on is strictly student Visa fortunately/unfortunately, most of the comments on job/work centred on IT and tech jobs which are a bit far from my profession.

I'm a professional in Mechatronics/mechanical engineering having experience in a production line (food and beverage or FMCG) with over 6 years of post NYSC experience.

Have gone through "make it in Germany" potal, my university degree is recognized in Germany and given H+ status. I have also concluded plans to make my CV more robust with A2 language grade.

Does any one have idea how easy it is for those of us with Mechatronics/mechanical/electrical/industrial experience?

You can quote me if you are a professional in these areas.

Thank you all and Jah bless!

Hello everyone.

I applied for the work visa on Feb 17th and got appointment date yesterday for March 27.

Despite seeing the one year waiting period.
It's my first time ever applying to travel.

This just to encourage you all.

@Temidayoolu any tips for me please.

How do one get a job offer from Nigeria? Is it by applying online and proficient in German language?

I will advice you start reading from page 1 of this thread you will get some insight. Ofcourse, language proficiency is required.

I don't know about other visa types but I know for sure that for EU Blue Card, language proficiency is not required in all cases. It depends on the job requirement. If the recruiting company does not state language proficiency as part of the requiremens for the role, the consulate won't deny you visa for having zero knowledge of the language

Nairalanders. Please how long does it takes before the embassy will honour re-union visa application for someone whose spouse is a DAAD scholarship beneficiary?

Regardless of that. Normal waiting of 10 months.
Just that after the interview, you might be lucky to get it within 2 weeks as mostly there is no verification process. Except you were not lucky enough, the V. O initiate the verification.

10 months of waiting. That is too long. Is that the standard?.
