For reapplication. Should my SOP and LOE be in a single document or seperate document.

What I have done is that after I've written my SOP. I left 7 lines and wrote my LOE both in a single document. I hope I'm not making mistake?

Hello all.... Pls Iam kind of new here. I need your advice on my Study Visa Application. There is a lump sum in my hubby's account (my husband is my sponsor). The said amount 7m naira was transferred to hubby by his brother, who received it from a transport company as a compensation to the family for an autocrash that led to their father's death. How do I present this case to the VO?and what is likely going to be the VO's view?

For my own reapplication, I wrote the LOE first, then merged the SOP in another page under it. So that once the VO opens it, he/she will first read how I adressed the previous refusal before reading the SOP.
Hope this helps

May I please use your template for mine ? At the end of your LOE, did you end it with "yours sincerely" or you wrote "yours sincelrely" at the end of your SOP.

There are various ways that can be presented, but one way you shouldn't present it is saying that it was a compensation for the loss of a family member. The VO will be skeptical and wonder why you want to use that sole amount to sponsor an education in Canada. You can state that;

1. A gift from your brother to sponsor his education.

2. Let the money mature in his account and he can state that it is the funds set aside for his education.

3. Let the amount represent the sale of a very expensive property.

Hello house.. need an advice on my application.. I have done and passed medicals and waiting for the next contact from the VO.. last week they asked me to update my new offer letter stating my deferment which I did immediately.. now I know they are doing other background checks to make a decision and I am worried about a particular status that has changed since I submitted my application.. I have changed jobs. When I applied in Nov I was working in a different place from where I am working now.. do I need to still upload my new job offer letter at this stage or just wait it out and not complicate things for myself?... I am really at a crossroad on this and need experienced minds to advise. Cheers

Hello BossFingy,

It is very important to show the VO that there is a progression in either you study course or choice program. The most important thing is how you demonstrate to the VO that the choice program is a progression even if its not. This way, it is best to provide laconic expanations and analysis the importance of your program choice to your future endeavours or self-development.

The reason why its advise against going for a program that does not show progression is nothing other than to avoid the failure of being able to convincingly explain to the VO that you are a genuine student. There is so much skepticism on why would a person spend so much money on a program lower than your previous academic qualification(s). Many applicants has not been able to fully justify their reasons except maybe few. If you graduated with a 3rd class, you could also have gone for a Post Baccaleaurate Diploma or PGD/C. Either way, do well to justify the reasons for opting for Diploma and you should avoid mentioning low CGPA or poor grades.

If you know you can justify the study gap if you decide to omit your first degree certificate then you can apply with you welding certificate and WAEC. Otherwise, apply as your situation describes and use a well explanatory and convince letter to back your decisions.

All the best

Please would love to keep in touch with you privately... Sent you an email now ..

Hello Tstunt,

Going about the VO's concern was major on how your SOP was drafted. You've failed to relate and explain how certain required information need to be read by the VO add up to help them make their case and determine if you are eligible for a SP.

Maybe you failed to show an appropriate relationship and reasons for the sponsorship, a solid home ties and laying your level of establishment in a clear view, the benefits of your intended course/program to your self/country's development, available opportunities etc.

I don't think your notes is generic, rework on your SOP, as opting for a judicial review might (or not) fall to your favour but that's your decision. If am to advise you, I would suggest you re-apply and try to improve more on your application (SOP). You have the knife, yam, and fire.

Good luck!

Please I am new here, and I will like all d help.

I got my Canada student visa refused due to no family ties, purpose of visit and financial status. I didn't include my SOP at submission of application online cause I thought I would give that in person.

My question now is how to I appeal now that I have all the supporting documents in order.

Hello Zeb04,

In general context regarding your application, I don't think your financial narrative should be based on loan. The storyline should simply focus on how much your father is committing into your studies maybe for a year, to be the 10m.

In building a storyline for your application, some things like sponsor's (your age,) employment/source of funds, establishment etc shouldn't be neglected and every loopholes covered with good and convincing explanation in your letter and his.

Since, the funds is readily available, first check the refund policy of the school and if its suitable, then you can make the first year payment of your tuition fees (not a guarantee for visa approval but still it proves a point in one way or the other) and have the remaining balance from the 10m paid into your account as your LE which amounts $10k.

The study visa is issued and appended tp tour PP at the VAC which allows you to travel/board a plane whilst the study permit is issued at the POE upon arriving Canada. When applying, both are/can be used interchangeably.

You should not approach the narrative as a loan but a parent sponsorship commitment.

All the best.
hello @justmellow, pls can i send my SOP, so you can proofread?

Appealing a decision means you're requesting for a Judicial Review which you need a service of a Canadian Immigration lawyer to represent you. The cost implication range might be the range 6-8k cad.

Hello Faith243,

1. Are you a matured applicant? (I understand you graduated in 2018 and NYSC in 2019).

2. Where were you assigned to in PPA, does it relate to your propect course or/and future/career goal

3. Do you do a side hustle or have a skill

4. Is there a family business

5. Have you done any internship or attended workshop seminars

6. In your previous application, how do you demonstrate your level of establishment

7. Who is your sponsor

People here may be able to advise you well if you can provide answers to these questions
