Seems you cannot pass your message across without insulting or abusing someone. It was only a question that required a simple answer but you decided to go on a tirade on elderly people. If someone decides to allow their parents to choose for them, good for them. You seem not to have elderly ones or you were scarred by the ones you have.

To the person who asked the question, I am not in support of parents choosing for their wards when it comes to marriages but it doesn't mean they are wrong if they raise a concern or an objection to certain people. Listen with an open mind. They might be right or wrong, take what is important in their concerns and leave what you feel is not important.

Am kinda facing same problem, am 5.8 and my girlfriend is like 5.5. My parents case is that we are both short that our kids will be short. Another reason is that she is from mbaise . They don't even know her like I do.

My uncle when he wanted to get married brought home a woman who was very beautiful, but his mom refused saying she's a single mom with kids tho his mom was just seeing the woman for the first time. Long story short, my uncle went ahead with the marriage and today....! He is wrecked! By the same woman his mom warned him about. He's mom's late (rest her soul).
