I just couldn't let this topic pass, I stayed with my uncle for about a year, and his landlady is the height at which wickedness can be illustrated.

She doesn't let any tenant use generator, yet she uses a very big diesel generator(those ones wey they make strong noise and has to be housed) which she put on every day.

Tenants no fit get visitor wey go spend the night without telling the woman, if she see am na wahala.

You no fit pull slippers for your entrance, if you see am na to seize am.

The house worse pass barracks, and what baffles me is the level of compliance from the tenants.... Abeg people dey

My landlady likes me so much, nice woman but the husband is unpredictable, money conscious. He travels in and out of the country yet so greedy. Instead of him to inform me of his intentions to increase the rent come January this year, he was beating about the bush saying that I should pack out come January, no fight, no argument, no nothing. I didn't beg him, it was my boo boo that went to meet him on expiration of the rent then he told him that actually, he wants to increase it. My man just count the money and gave it to him without arguments. Funny thing I noticed, his wife has no say in the house, no influence over her own husband. Maybe because she has no child for him and they both re already old, in their 60s

The only advise I can give, before packing into a rented house. Let prayer warriors come and pray in the house. It will dismantle every evil thing the landlord must have dug in that house. Then always be prayerful.

I lost my jovial brother in the house through stroke due to his business collapse and my biz suffered a nose dive cos my clients were no longer seeing me at work, they were not satisfied seeing and having my workers attend to them. They need my prescence their but I need to be With my only brother! I can't divide myself into two!

And I needed to be by my brother's side at the hospital every day. So it affected my biz, my savings. I didn't know God back then.

When I realised as he was about getting better, he will then relapse again. More money was being spent. A Pastor I met on my way home from the hospital saw me and talked about Christ. I gave my life then to God, cos I was so confused, frustrated, as in I didn't get my bearing anymore.
After giving my life to Christ, I started praying in my apartment, that's when my landlord got irritated and said they've increased the rent.
I was like what?

Landlord u know what's going on with me and my brother. He's still. Lying down in the hospital with stroke and u talk of increase of rent.
He didn't hear my plea o. He later sent his lawyers to give me 6months notice if I can't pay the new rent.
By then my account was already red, have sold my car. I was even borrowing money to pay hospital bills and his drugs.

In a nutshell my prayers quickened the landlord moves in evicting me. Before the 6months elapsed my brother died in his sleep. It was as if, I was living dead. All my world came crashing down. No brother, no money, no car, have sold off some. Of my gadgets. And Landlord with his lawyer is breathing down my neck to pack.

That's where I said I had 4 cardiac arrest! On different occasions, I collapsed with a sharp pain piercing through my heart and my body cold from within. I thought my life was over but God in his infinite mercy woke me up.
4 times my heart shut down. 4 times it kicked again and I stood up.

I knew I had to leave the house before 6montbs elapsed
And I left hurriedly before they carry my dead body out of that house. My life first.


So just be close to God. And be prayerful. With constant prayers, your intuition will increase and your guardian angel will be close to you and show u signs when u want to rent a house or take any important step in life. It's either u will dislike it, no matter how fine it looks or u will feel odd about the place.

I'm quite young. And my landlord pikin is over 30 but he still lives in this same house. His father (my landlord) is now dead.

His son does everything he can to inconvenient me all the time. Cutting my light after payment and always looking for trouble.

The thought of seeing a young boy rent a house kills him. He hates me so much.

I hosted a birthday party for my little brother. it got a bit rough. Landlady called that night and asked why I didn't tell her before hosting a party. She was so rude and said I should leave when my rent expires. I went to apologize the next day and she said she was sorry too, that she reacted that way because her son was there and was flirting with one of the girls she loathes. I said okay. Thank you so much for shedding light on this! I'm deeply sorry about your brother and I pray he is in a better place now. You obviously went through a lot in that house and we should be thanking God that it is a thing of the past now.
You see, that is why I hate moving from place to place because you just don't know what you'll be facing anywhere you move to. I just maintain my stay where I currently am right now and I pray, the landlord is OK tho, everyone minds his own business in the compound, no pressure...Eventhough I know I have to pray more because anytime I pray, everything seems to get clearer and easier...One truly has to pray very well constantly anywhere we find ourselves coz we live in a cruel world now. I pray God blesses us well so we can all build our own houses and live there in the nearest future. Thank you once again for sharing! I learnt from your experience.

When they can't get you, they increase rent, cowards. This one increased my rent on the 15th, and gave me the end of same month to pay up. I did. Only for his wife to send their asslicker to ask me to lend them 5k a day after because they had an accident and needs to make deposit. Rubbish

I once had a landlord and landlady that changed my belief.some people are just troublesome.The husband is Yoruba and the Wife is Hausa.They can fight from morning till dawn.it is in their fight that I learnt the Wife was pregnant.i had a friend over one afternoon and we were discussing politics only for her to send for me that I was disturbing her.i jejely told her I have just renewed and it is not to late for her to refund me.this is a woman whose cry for help wake me at times from the bed.Anything I pay for electricity,she will not pay but but always bribe the guys with small change.bills kept piling up.She is a customer to all microfinance bank.from lapo to grooming.The last straw was that this people sold their house and ran away owing money to different people.I saw them washing and arranging things for a week but I thought they were preparing for arrival of the new baby.The first two weeks was hell for me because every morning one debtor or another is knocking the gate.A nurse guarantee 500k loan for them also.Thank God my rent was almost due.mama and papa dupe I hail thee.

It's not a tribal thing. I have seen people from the east, west, southern and northern Nigeria owe landlord.

Its not easy living in same compound with your landlord or landlady sha.

. It was fun anyway, tenants call her iron lady( she is a manager in Shell,her late husband a prof)...Rule number 1:Don't bring too many women to the company 2 Don't smoke or get drunk. Gate are lock by 8 o'clock. Lovely apartment so I accepted it but I know I like breaking rules. I had a bizs that kept me late at night, I always returned 11pm, sometime 10pm. Gate will always open for me cos I settle our gate manager well.Long story short,I went clubbing,came back around 2pm, she already ordered my mannest man not to open for me. I make a lot of noise,she came and open it, I fell on her shoulder, she help me to her sitting room,next morning I wake up, beside me a cup of tea. She left to work,in the evening when she returns won't answer my greetings. I bring out the voice of my sound system until she came to my door and ask me to tune it down. I did as commanded. We became best of friends,she introduce me to her boy friend. I miss that house.. best experience ever.
