The same argument being used against Lebron fanboys can be used against any superstar or transcendent talent. Look at Ronaldo. Look at Messi. Look at MJ. Look at Kobe.

Sergio Ramos is only discussed as a footnote to the 5 champions league Madrid won, with Ronaldo as the centre of the fans' and media adulation and glory.

It doesn't matter what the other players contribute, the media and the fanboys will skew the narrative to focus on their superstar.

It is the way it is. Not right but this is reality. So don't make this about Lebron. Let's be fair.

You didn't mention blocks. 2.5 to 0.5. And stop talking as if he could score 50 points per game. He cannot, even if he wanted to. He leads him in multiple categories and that's it. Lebron didn't make the playoffs last season, although he had similar stats.
Abeg leave these people that will always shift pivot like wind vane. Someone you cannot convincingly argue is the best player in his own team is who we should crown MVP.

Giannis is 3-1 vs the Lakers and Clippers but let's give LeNomad MVP because of two games meanwhile he is 2-3 vs similar opposition. The recency bias is stinking

Don't liken oranges and tomatoes.

With Messi, MJ, Ronaldo we clearly can see the best player in their respective teams. In this instance unlike other MVP wins we cannot conclusively say Bron is the best even in his own team and this is the crux of the argument

Lol! You win! You are a confirmed dyed-in-the-wool Lebron hater. More oil to your 'hatery' grin

Just like many crucify-Kobe and give-it-to-Nash merchants shedding crocodile tears and confessing Kobe's greatness and GOATness only after he passed, it will be alright someday.

No. The best 3pt shooter is judged by percentage, not volume. If Harden attempts 12 3pts a game and makes 4, is he as good as Klay who attempts 10 and makes 4?

Or if Harden attempts 15 and makes 5, is he better than Klay who attempts 10 and makes 4?
There is a minimum number of 3pts attempted to even qualify for NBA leader boards

Don't be ridiculous. I'm not a hypocrite, my 'beef' with Bron does not extend beyond the court. Same way a Liverpool fan will not cheer for United or Sir Alex does not mean the respect for their accomplishments is not there.

Your Nash, Kobe comparison is also off the mark considering Giannis's team doesn't just have the better record but he's higher in every statistical category but assists. Assists! That is the only thing he has done better than Giannis this year

PS: I have never believed he was the GOAT, I don't now and I never will, however I have no qualms with anybody else's preferences.
Anyone altering their opinions on Kobe just because of his tragic passing is merely playing to the gallery

Never said it was beyond the court, bro.

Wasn't alluding directly to the Giannis-Lebron debate. To me either of them can take it. They are both deserving.

The Nash-Kobe metaphor was for you comparing the GOAT level displays of Lebron to the great level displays of Davis. I find it disrespectful to Lebron.

Two, it was for all the other times Lebron deserved MVP but it was given to some other because of a certain obscure narrative.

Also, forget what his fanboys or the media do or say, they are not him. Celebrate him while he lives.
Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 3:37pm On Mar 11, 2020
Man, sorry, but GOAT and LEBRON don't belong in the same sentence. grin. U can't even convincingly say that Lebron has been more valuable to the team than AD. Leading the team in 3 or 4 out of 8 relevant categories is what is called GOAT. I could make an argument that AD has contributed as much as LEBRON in this run. It's quite blasphemous to put GOAT and LEBRON together. grin

The Rose situation and the current situation are not comparable at all. Not even remotely. The bulls led by Rose had a better record that the Heats led by Lebron with Wade and Bosh and you tell me Rose didn't deserver it. That fact alone made him a serious contender. This case is different. Giannis not only has a better record, he leads him in multiple categories too. Now if LAL takes over with the best record, as you suggested, then that's something worth considering.

We all fall in the same trap with this guy. It's obvious his basketball knowledge is limited and its not even close to this argument. Even when you make sense 100/100 times, he would find the most ridiculous and irrelevant excuse or point to make.

It's futile. lipsrsealed

Wait, did you say something at the end there? I want you to be more specific. Are you saying you won't mind LeBron being the MVP if the Lakers have more wins than the Bucks?

Then your argument is neither here nor there. We all know if LeBron had the best record in the league and put up Giannis's numbers we wouldn't even have an MVP argument so why isn't Giannis enjoying the same luxury. This is the hypocrisy in play here

This is a massive joke. AD's arrival has transformed the Lakers from defensive jesters to defensive royalty. This man leads the Lakers in more stats than Bron. Stats that Fanboys swear is the be all and end all of all arguments so why are you lot not keeping the same energy? Anyway nothing new. Diminish the contributions of his teammates and elevate his, that's the M.O of you guys

What other times did he deserve it that it was given to other players? If you're saying that about Bron then Jordan should also easily have won more than 5 MVPs

Don't tell me what to do or what not to do. I'm not a fan of his but I've never disrespected him like Bronsexuals did to Kobe while he was alive so stop preaching to the choir mate

Lool don't mind these wind vane people. Anthony Davis is in their team leading the Lakers in 4 out of 5 statistical categories never mind defensive ratings but they are bringing up D.Rose who led the Bulls to the best record in the league with Carlos Boozer and Luol freaking Deng
Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 7:51pm On Mar 11, 2020
Honestly, i can't believe i am defending AD fervently, given my criticism of his underachievement at NOP. grin. When you listen to the media, it looks like Lebron is mister do it all. Defending and offending the back and front. grin. But if you look closely, you realize that, ahah, not quite the superman. It's just the typical case of AD de Alafia de. grin

It is shocking/ interesting to read, considering I bantered you, Chic2pimp and A40 about AD for almost a week. Like I said last week, history and the record books will not only be kind but will revere AD on his first regular season with the Lakers especially when you consider he is playing alongside LeBum.
Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 8:14pm On Mar 11, 2020
I guess we may have to look at him differently now, under different circumstances. grin. I have never doubted his talent though, in fact his talent is one of the reasons why i concluded that his stint at NOP was an underachievement. But there's one more thing i still don't trust about him though. We'll have to wait till the playoffs for that one. However, for now, i can't help but admit that the guy is balling out. We knew he could put up those numbers, but to do that alongside LeBron, as you indicated, is something quite impressive.

Kemba Walker's drop has got me a tad worried but the consolation is that we have some weeks before the start of the postseason. Since the All-Star break, he has suffered numerous knocks that kept him out of some games and has affected his rhythm and consistency. We have gone from having a healthy roster to now missing JB, uncertainties about Walker's sore knee and R. Williams. Again, I hope we can get them back in time before the season is over so they can play some games together.

Just a few months ago, folks here were talking down on AD, about how he had a good team but couldn't lead them to success despite the fact that his stats showed that he was balling out. They said his numbers counted for nothing if he couldn't get the best out of his team.

Now, he plays with LeBron and has similar stats, he's suddenly the one who is carrying the team.

HYPOCRISY OF THE HIGHEST ORDER

It works both ways though after all this is the same AD many claimed would have taken the Bucks to the Promiseland last year had He been in Giannis's position.

Let's assume anybody said that. At least he's now proving his worth while playing with LeBron. For those who said he couldn't carry a team, what excuse do they have?

A40:
That would be an indictment on AD. You still don't get it

Bear in mind LeNomad traded the entire squad just to get AD. They were literally a lottery team last year without AD
A40:
When has AD not gotten respect though. Going into the season when ESPN made their list he was #5 if I recall correctly. And I also recall Stephen A picking the Lakers to win it all largely because of AD and the matchup problems he would pose to the Clippers.

I think the consensus was he kinda underperformed with the Pelicans, their performance thus far this season shows it might not entirely have been AD's fault. Whether it's the coaching or something there is a problem there
A40 is not a wind vane like most of these fanboys. I have always held him to a Higher standard that is why I opined that he underperformed with the Pelicans.
