The Heroine is d staff that evacuated the wards after sensing d leakage.

She saved many parents from agony today.

Building near pipelines and power line is a very dangerous thing to do. If you have seen where a transmission line is on fire, u won't like to near it talk less of living close by. Pipeline will always remain quiet until it ruptures.

May God heal d wounded

Pipeline vandalism is a steady source of income criminals in that area, even the police and soldiers are involved. Technology needs to be incorporated in pipeline monitoring. We can invent things like conductor strips that will run along the pipe na, any tampering will easily be noticeable and the exact location will be known also.
Stop damaging the image of our security personnel don't write things you are not sure of, except you can give us concrete evidence when we invite you to come forward.

Who is government
What is government
Who makes up the government

Nigerian government is bad because it is made up of bad Nigerians which make up at least 80 percent of Nigeria.
Until we become better Nigerians we can't have a better government.
I understand your point, but I can assure you that the fear of being caught and punished is what keeps most people from misbehaving. USA and other developed countries also have people that are equally as bad but they have working systems in place to checkmate and punish law breakers.

Just put together a working system (for anything) and watch as people fall in line. It's wrong to merely "hope" that everyone will be good and not break the law. Let me ask you, have you ever participated in oil bunkering? That will be a likely "no". So the very few that continue to do this are likely getting away with it most of the time. This is what we need to fix.

And who told you an empty rusted pipe will just burst on its own? Is the one that occurred today an empty one?

Besides, in the design of structures or components, who factors in the possibility of damage when estimating lifespan?

Lifespan of structures are estimated on the basis of ideal conditions and that is why warranties do not cover physical or environmental damage.

A rusted pipeline with inflammable liquid can burst on its own on a very hot weather day. Heat will cause expansion and the weak metallic pipe can burst while its content goes up in flames.
These pipelines are supposedly buried underground nah. Moreover, it was early morning so the issue of heat is out of the question.

are u saying it’s impossible? And please excuse that checking of dictionary mr Man U can’t erroneously assume I don’t know the meaning of what I called that will be outrightly irresponsible to do.. I don’t live in Nigeria people on ground are telling me what they felt and their several speculations already... just because pipeline explosions it’s convenient to blame doesn’t mean every explosion outside Borno is a pipeline explosion.. expand ur horizon..

Lemme now concentrate on examining the damage back home ..don’t wanna argue about it ..thanks for ur concern.
I wouldn't have responded if you didn't mention the bolded. Pipeline explosion can be caused by so many factors. So, you can't blame "pipeline explosion" because it is not a factor, but the name given to such event triggered by a factor or factors.

Now my friend, you should be the one to expand your horizon because staying outside the shores of this country does not automatically make you informed. If you were, you would have considered the impact your falsehood could cause if less informed people, or those who have relatives or loved ones in that area see your post.

And just as you suggest, kindly focus on the damages back home and stop spreading whoppers.

This is how I know the cost of ANYTHING, ANYTHING in Nigeria.

1. I download the APP from playstore

2. I select the best category that suites my need.

3. I select thestate and local government.

For instance. If i want to know the cost of Land in Ibeju lekki...

I will select category = Real Estate

Next is to select location = Lagos, Local government = Ikeja

Select "Property Type" Land and For Sale

input your budget price and hit Submit button...

It will return list of lands in all those areas are they prices.

Seller's contact will on each ads too to call them.

Make sure you verify the land before you pay or buy it.
What is the name of the app

I'm not talking about this incidence in particular.

Her sweeping assertion is what I disagreed with.

She said a pipeline cannot burst without human interference. Is that true?

No smoke without fire.

These vandals will never cease to cause mayhem even when they know their lives are equally at risks.

We are our own problems in this country.....that's why i hardly blame govt.

Just last week, rail lines were stolen after govt is trying to fix it.

Things cant get better unless you and i change positively.
Things can't get be unless the government start taking their jobs seriously

I am a field worker and I can authoritatively tell you, your line is quiet naive, no insult intended.
Humans will run this system you propose.
Good humans or bad humans what is the ratio.

The Nigerian mentality is wa ped, we need massive reorientation to get things working again.

Ok. But you should know they only use galvanized steel these days for pipelines, which is very difficult to corrode on its own. Maybe bad products in the pipeline or even a kinetic weapon, but for this very incident, I don't think it was merely pipeline explosion. Something else is involved of which we are yet to know of.

the pipe line vandalism in that place is too much. I have seen soldiers coming out with gallons with my two naked eyes about two years ago by 1 am When i was escorting one olosho. But i doubt this is as a result of vandalism
