Maybe you're just blind for insisting that the part of the article I quoted doesn't exist. It is in the third paragraph, stop deceiving yourself. You seem really determined to stick to this lie. grin

They are talking about monitoring the airport for new cases aside from the the current Italian man dummy. That is what they should have done before Mr Italian left Lagos, now because we know the virus survives in the air for about 30 minutes and on surfaces for up to 2 days, the claim that the virus has not been transmitted from this man to anyone else is uncertain.

The aftermath of Ebola now means West African countries including Senegal, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria currently rank as better prepared for COVID-19 than richer countries with more sophisticated health systems, says Gyude Moore, fellow at Center for Global Development in Washington D.C and former minister for public works in Liberia.

Senegal, with four confirmed cases, is the worst affected in the region to date.

Nigeria was swift and transparent in sharing the COVID-19 sequence from its first case, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says on Twitter. "This is a true act of solidarity and an important step in stopping the #coronavirus from spreading."

Ravon:
Lagos State Government has disclosed that it has been able to break the circle of person-to-person transmission of COVID-19 from the index case in the State.

The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, who disclosed this at a news briefing to give updates on the #COVID19Lagos said all other identified contacts of the index case, except the positive contact who has now tested negative to the virus and discharged, have exceeded the 14 days quarantine isolation period without symptoms.

He said, “The remaining contacts of the index case; those in Ogun and Lagos States remain symptom-free and they have exceeded their 14 days surveillance, which means that we do not expect that any of them will turn positive from direct contact with the index case”.

''
In simple words, that means in Lagos, we have been able to interrupt the transmission between the index case and anybody in this environment, we have broken the circle of transmission and have not given the virus the opportunity to spread beyond one person. So, the threats posed by the index case to Lagos and Nigeria has been eliminated
and we have not gotten an outbreak as a result of the interventions that took place in Lagos”, the Commissioner added.

Abayomi explained that the positive contact of the index case tested negative after two consecutive tests conducted on him, noting he has been certified to be virus-free and subsequently discharged.

“His tests initially showed that he was positive to Coronavirus twice and now, he has tested negative to the virus on two consecutive tests carried out on him”, he said.

However, on the index case, Abayomi stated that the Italian being managed at the Mainland General Hospital, Yaba remains on admission although perfectly well now, he is still secreting the virus, stressing that the patient is getting closer to being discharged as his immune system is gradually wiping out the virus.

“He is perfectly well now, we are only keeping him because he still has some secretion of the virus. The test shows that anytime from now, he may be negative. If he is negative, we will conduct another test within 48 hours after and if he is still negative, we will set him free. We are close to discharging the index case, we want to be sure he poses no danger to society anymore”, Abayomi stated.

The Commissioner, however, assured members of the public not to panic stating that government will continue to respond swiftly and take necessary actions to contain the spread of the disease, adding that the Lagos will continue to strengthen its surveillance and will be sending more medical personnel to the point of entry at the Airport.

Like a mentally challenged fellow you are only quoting the headline and thinking I am as stupid as you are to believe that is the whole article.

I didn't even make any interpretation I just copied the whole article, bolded and italicised the ELIMINATED yet you want to believe that it isn't there because you can't read past 2 bloody paragraphs. Use Cntrl-F and find it if you're too slow to do any reading.

You are clearly too stupid to be reasoned with. I just pray that your head will one day be removed from your rectum.

Why is it so difficult for you to copy and paste the portion in the article where you saw the word ELIMINATED if it wasn't your own made up word and interpretation.

Oh you were so close, just read a few lines down, come on you can do it I believe in you. Watching you try to lie about the Commissioner's own words is almost as cute as watching a child try to prove their imaginary friend is real
grin

Also notice that the portion you quoted are the exact words the commissioner said verbatim. I never said any of that Prof. Akin Abayomi did, you would know but you don't want to read. You seriously can't read your last message again and tell me you made sense.

Just admit you were wrong, the BMC won't stop paying you if you do. grin

Trust me, if there was anywhere in the article where the word ELIMINATED was asserted, you'd have posted it quick quick, but you couldn't because no such word was uttered, but you made up your own word, you made up your own interpretations, that was really silly and unintelligent.

You should have said in my opinion, this is what he meant, that's what sensible and reasonable people do instead of making a compounded statement that what was not there was actually there and people are just can not see it because they are blind or stupid when in fact you are.

Stop saying what you think they meant, stick to what was said and what you read. This is how olodo people fail WAEC.
