Boris Johnson just announced a lockdown without using the word "lockdown". Good development because people were ignorant to the imposed measure; "stay tf at home". Apart from the eerie feeling of walking around a ghost town when I walk down my street. I'm good, lectures are been delivered online, my local Tesco is open even though I will have to join a long queue to get in. Hope it will all be over soon 1 Like 1 Share |

I just have one thing to say to Nigerians as a Nigerian living abroad. Stay your ass home if you don't have to go out. Wash your hands. Use masks and hand sanitizers. Avoid large groups. Right now, the governor of my state has completely shut down the state and I hope Lagos state would follow suit soon. You know the way we were looking at Coronavirus like it's a chinese or italian problem, it has now become a problem in the U.S with 35k confirm cases. Just under a week. The way Lagos is 40 cases today, if care and precaution and common sense is not applied it can become 400 cases next week and 4000 cases in 2 weeks. One last thing. Pray that God provides a final solution to this virus and give doctors wisdom and grace to deal with patients already sick. Use your brain and STAY HOME. STAY HOME. STAY HOME. DON'T ATTEND WEDDING. OR ANY GATHERING. STAY HOME. A word is enough for the wise. 11 Likes |

Keziehenry: In Toronto...Back from Nigeria 2 weeks ago... Bought lots of food, frige is full but i may ruun out in 3 weeks. Most people out of Job, I will say upto 85%. Major FOOD STORES ARE OPEN, No restaurants/fast food but takeout is ok. No gathering of more than 20 people, Major malls are close down. All schools closed down. Been home past 2 weeks and eating more food than i normally would cause theres nothing to do, on Nairaland all day. Youtube movies and sometime videogames. step out once every 3 days for 30 minutes for fresh air, boring as fuk. ohh i forgot, i cant even invite people over so gotta soapy 3 times a day. my left hand is busy. Hope that government cheques comes this week including employment insurance, cause i just came back from Nigeria, meaning enu ti gbe(mouth is dry/no money). 2 Likes |

Trump is talking about giving us $1200 for every adult and $500 for every child, this isn't going to be enough especially for people who have already lost jobs. We're definitely already in a recession now, as jobless claims for unemployment have hit the US dept of Labor. Even if the virus leaves today, it will be years before the US economy recovers. Small businesses like restaurants are firing employees left and right. All because our State dept didn't shut everything down early enough. Blame the Chinese sure but part of the blame goes to The Trump administration dragging their feet and even members of congress like Republican Byrd who got early warning in February and sold millions of his stock, while telling the American people that we were going to be safe from Coronavirus 1 Like |

I work in the hospital. We are running short of mask, PPE devices, gowns, even hand sanitizers. Initially patients family steal them, but now, the hospitals are hiding them so workers can have enough. visitors are no more allowed to visit except if the patient is dying. In that case, the guest is properly screened before allowed entrance. If they are cough, they must wear a mask. If they have any form of fever, they will be denied entrance. If a worker is sick, he or she is asked to stay home until recovered. After recovery, hospital quarantine you for another 2 wks. Depending on ur contract with the hospital, some Wil pay you while at home, others half, other may not, so it's advisable to listen to precaution and not get sick. I try to protect myself by the following ways. 1. I pray. PS 91 every day. 2. I use a small portion of Vaseline In my nose before I step out, it helps filter some air u breath. 3. I wear mask if I have to come in contact with outsiders. But I turn it inside out because the inner part has a filter that filters the air you breath. I repeat some, wash it, dry and re use because it's limited now. We only wear in the hospital if the patient is confirmed with an air borne disease because we have limited quantities. 4. I try to be more committed to washing my hands. Sanitizers are now very scarce. They said u can make homemade ones with alcohol and aloe versa and something else I can't rem. but av not really paid attention to that yet but sooner or later I will. 5. I take out my scrubs from the front door or garage and put them in the laundry, take a shower before going to the main rooms. 6. I try not to touch my face except when am taking a bath. Very difficult. 7. Social life is reduced to 0.0000% except with social media connect.a bit boring but safety first. So I keep myself busy with Nigerian movies, Netflix, sleeping, reading my books and learning new things like cooking if I have ingredients, hair styling, make up skills, nairaland forum, reading my Bible and praying plus watching more CNN news to get new updates. 8. It's still cold and allergy season. To prevent confusion with COVID-17, I try to stay hydrated, with lemon, honey and ginger. I also take vit C. 9. I pray PS. 91:7 (A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.) 10. I trust God to protect me. I think av said enof. 13 Likes |
