We can't work from home based on the nature of our job, but we will only be paid the numbers of days of we work. Meanwhile rent and other bills aren't on isolation, they keep working

We are coping just fine. I work from home. It gets annoying not moving around much but it is what it is.
Its comforting to know that at least there are measures put in place in case we fall sick.
Functioning hospitals
Functioning drugs
Ambulances
Health workers who know what they are doing

Bros which country you dey? How true is the news we are hearing that in China, government sends food to the houses of its masses for free, then in u.s, 1000$ is been paid to individuals, what have the government in your current country done for you guys since the pandemic started?

No money has been approved or paid in USA, $1000 can’t solve ordinary rent for many couples for one month. It is tough now

Just cancelled my flight to lagos last week. The problem now is i have already shipped my goods via Grimaldi line before Covid-19 got serious in Germany. I visit lagos regularly on business trips, i pray all this wahala ends soon. Self - isolation is really boring, anyways my family members are happy that for once they have me full time at home.

As I speak to you right now, I am in China. I am in one of the city next to Wuhan which is the most hit city of COVID-19 in China. The problem I have with religiosity in Nigeria is the believe of the worshippers on certain ideas that the statement of the man of God is supreme. If prayers( acknowledge your God)from church is supreme why are you still having poverty, hunger, unemployment, unpaved roads, killings and alot I can't mentioned here in Nigeria? don't get me wrong because I am also a Christian who don't default in referencing and worshipping my God when is time. I learnt some man of God says COVID-19 will disappear before the end of the month but as I talk to you, death in on the rise in the world and confirmed cases keep rising in Nigeria. Are you telling me that in China were orders was given(police will handle you if you default)for all of us to stay at home; transport systems shut down, offices closed, shops closed, we spend days in the room without opening our doors, no churches, no mosques, no social event are backward in development than your religious Nigeria? if I may tell you. Only the GDP of the city I am right now is more that the GDP of entire Nigeria. China design a phone apps which enables us to know the distance of an infected COVID-19 case around our destinations; this apps show you if you are getting close to an infected person and how you can avoid the area, even when we don't go out. only me have a key card to enter my environment. Even with the Chinese technology, people obey the simple instructions and all the streets was empty for more than 10 weeks. people never learn from history, the same argument in Nigeria is what happen in Italy and death in Italy is getting to twice death in China. let me give you a little clue about the virus; you can't touch elevator buttons because the virus have the ability of staying at the surface for 15 minutes if touched by an infected person, you can't touch doors(we have to rap our hands with tissue papers if you are without hand gloves), allow infected persons close proximity with you. washing your hands and going into the church hall is not enough. what happens when an undetected case wash hands and move to the church hall, and cough or sneezes around people?. please I am advising you guys to adhere by simple instructions from the government. isolation and social distancing is the best option. A word is enough for the wise.. That's my earlier warning I wrote on Sunday.

Chinese government don't send food to any of us free but you use your phone to buy food and it's delivered to you in your room. But right now, I can tell you everything has been controlled in China and activities has picked up. We go out now. it's only schools that remain shut but classes are fully arranged online. China is safe

I work in the hospital. We are running short of mask, PPE devices, gowns, even hand sanitizers. Initially patients family steal them, but now, the hospitals are hiding them so workers can have enough.

visitors are no more allowed to visit except if the patient is dying. In that case, the guest is properly screened before allowed entrance. If they are cough, they must wear a mask. If they have any form of fever, they will be denied entrance.

If a worker is sick, he or she is asked to stay home until recovered. After recovery, hospital quarantine you for another 2 wks. Depending on ur contract with the hospital, some Wil pay you while at home, others half, other may not, so it's advisable to listen to precaution and not get sick. I try to protect myself by the following ways.

1. I pray. PS 91 every day.
2. I use a small portion of Vaseline In my nose before I step out, it helps filter some air u breath.
3. I wear mask if I have to come in contact with outsiders. But I turn it inside out because the inner part has a filter that filters the air you breath. I repeat some, wash it, dry and re use because it's limited now. We only wear in the hospital if the patient is confirmed with an air borne disease because we have limited quantities.
4. I try to be more committed to washing my hands. Sanitizers are now very scarce. They said u can make homemade ones with alcohol and aloe versa and something else I can't rem. but av not really paid attention to that yet but sooner or later I will.
5. I take out my scrubs from the front door or garage and put them in the laundry, take a shower before going to the main rooms.
6. I try not to touch my face except when am taking a bath. Very difficult.
7. Social life is reduced to 0.0000% except with social media connect.a bit boring but safety first. So I keep myself busy with Nigerian movies, Netflix, sleeping, reading my books and learning new things like cooking if I have ingredients, hair styling, make up skills, nairaland forum, reading my Bible and praying plus watching more CNN news to get new updates.
8. It's still cold and allergy season. To prevent confusion with COVID-17, I try to stay hydrated, with lemon, honey and ginger. I also take vit C.
9. I pray PS. 91:7 (A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.)
10. I trust God to protect me.

I think av said enof.

Thanks i think i will do the vaseline thing,it gets windy here in lekki sometimes.

God is the most powerful. The creator will soon bring it to an end, just trying experiments to show us He can control immigration, economy, the world with His minor experiments. He said we should all fear Him and do good deeds and be prepared always. The trial is over for now.

you have been talking of patriotism. how patriot are you? are you more patriotic than people that took the virus to USA, Italy, Canada and other countries? You guys in Nigeria like running your mouth. let me educate you if you don't know, the initial stage Nigeria was screening at the airport. someone can be screened and left with negative symptoms but it shows infected after 2-3weeks. Nigeria just started isolation and quarantine about a week ago. people that are showing the symptoms now have returned for about 2 weeks.

See this one ..ooh Nigerians that brought this virus to this country fail to isolate their self because of lack of patriotism now they are putting the life of millions of Nigerians at risk nonsense... angry[/quote]

I hope Nigerian government can enforce stay at home or go to jail

How do you force poor people who barely feed 3square meal per day to stay at home?

Hunger would just kill people here. And unlike abroad government isn't gonna provide us with food or toiletries or sanitizers here, they'll only see this as an opportunity not to pay the civil servants because they didn't work

i live in Florence Italy, so far so good we have recorded more than 60k positive case and over 5k death mostly nonnis “old people” but that doesn’t exclude the fact that even the youth aren’t vulnerable. Best medical respond is self isolation, as you all know Italy rank one of the best health system in the world but that got nothing to do with covid-19. Even as we all know Nigeria is not ready for any pademic war, I would advice everyone to stay as much indoor for at least one month and build your immune system by eating well, take more garlic , ginger, limone and stay fit( gyms, run, etc) and more especially listen and do as the authorities instructed, here in Italy they feel too much of freedom and partially refused to adhere to competent advice, see where they are now? Practice at least 1m distance from people if you want to go out, you don’t need the mask if you don’t have cough or sneeze, watch your hands as often as you can. Stay safe for yourself, your fam and everyone elderly one around you....#thiswillalsopass

What did I say wrong?

My post was just removed now sharing my experience where I live.

This is scary, I just read last night that the media will be censoring any post that contradicts WHO (I haven't even said anything about WHO, at least not yet)but never thought it will happen here on nairaland.

There you go peeps! If there's nothing else behind this why are certain comments deleted?
I'm surprised too. There's a video you posted, when I was watching it there was a bit network problem so I decide to come back later to watch it only to find out that the video and your post is gone.

Pls, can you post the video?

Nonsense and ingredients cock and bull story. there is nothing like Napoli as a City in Italy. Napoli is a football club in City of Naples.

Mumu. I too know.

It is called Napoli in Italian.

Napoli Naples

Roma Rome

Milano Milan

The Italians call the city Napoli. Same way English people call Munich but the Germans call it Munchen
