Egun is careful this time around. I can't blame the doctors and nurse for running, but that still doesn't go hand in hand with the ethic of the job and even I would advise they should be sacked..... But on a serious note, there's no point attending to someone with covid 19 when you don't have the necessary equipment.

Uncle stop confusing urself

No body wants to be his brother keeper at this time. Imagine health workers like this doing the unthinkable.
Those Egyptians fvck up. They should have ran towards them screaming help us like zombies and force themselves on the hospital beds. Those nurses that told them to go to IDH will be forced to call IDH emergency lines. sad

Yes, they are supposed to be brave. But if they have not been trained to handle this kind of things then it would only lead to more damage if they still try to form 'brave'. Without PPE (Personal protection equipment), no medical personals should handle a COVID-19 patient.

The only time you talk sensibly and professionally to a patient with a contagious disease like COVID-19, is when you are suited and kitted up as if you are going to the moon.

We are also calling on volunteers to directs patients in our various hospitals< no particular certificates required>. You'all armchair cheerleaders and commentators should endeavour to apply.

It's not about bravery, it's about having the right equipment to deal with the cases. If they are exposed they will be infected as well and things will get more severe.

So their first and only response is to be shouting "God forbid, Coronavirus is not my portion, security come and send them away"? Even if you won't let them disembark, why not turn them back(refer them to the right place) in a sensible and professional manner? Not surprised at y'all responses, it's how you guys act in your various places of work...it's in the blood. This is Nigeria...bunch of unprofessional idiots.

Well you don't know me actually. I admire doctors and nurses a lot, my mother is one, but from your statement, I guess you saying is good to follow our leaders in not honoring our word. Point noted. wink

It's your choice to misconstrue or misinterpret simple explanations...

But, let me reiterate for your benefit and that of others... You can't and don't fight battles from a position of disadvantage.

Trained firefighters across the universe are taught one very basic and important survival lesson or maxim: Safeguard yourself first before moving to safeguard others!!! This applies to the medical and nursing profession... You don't jump into fire unprotected just to prove a point of empathy...

It would be very foolhardy and stupid for a trained medical staff to treat a contagiously infected individual without proper fullproof protective gear... Most hospitals in Nigeria today are not equipped to handle this pandemic... How hard can this be for y'all to process??!

Doctors and nurses in better prepared and equipped climes are dying in their numbers... What does your country have in terms of hazard preparations and remuneration??!

A country where you pay an average healthcare staff 5k as hazard allowance, but dole out millions to senators for clothes alone, yet you want them to lay down their lives, forsaking their families for you??! On what grounds exactly??!...

Shey your labour minister said doctors can leave the country if they choose, that we have more than enough... Why the fuss if few out of the numerous choose not to risk their healths and lives??!...

I wonder why nma even called off our strike sef... This nation is not worth the time and effort tbh!!! Mtchewww!!!
May i remind you of your oath. You should be happy Coro is coming to the rescue...Now government would be force to invest in the health sector.

All this una useless argument about not being paid is absolute Horseshit. Eveb if you pay them 1billion hazard allowance they wont do their jobs. Are they the only ones complaining of low pay globally? Whay are we the ones complaining of lack of professionalism globally?

That's how most of you talk stupidly without having the basic information.
Why not first ask if they have PPE in that hospital? I hope you know what PPE is?
Without it, no one has any business attending to a suspected case of Covid-19.
Most general hospitals in Nigeria don't even have hand gloves, let alone PPEs.
Your guys are ignorantly focusing on the health workers who are given nothing to work with, instead of on the government which has failed to equip the hospitals.
All the money is being spent by politicians and their families. Abba Kyari is receiving treatment in London, do you know how much that is costing 9ja?

Well if the director says it's a lie I don't blame him. GGH is not equipped to fight infectious diseases. I wonder who that doctor is that referred them there. He needs to be tested for the virus too cos he obviously does not understand basic protocol about this disease.

I still don't get it ,why are so much wealth men and women having this infections?

Is that they all took a particular med while they went abroad for their medical check up ,
